I still think the first loss will be at the Giants. Anyone know when the last time the Bears won a game there was? Same with St Louis - anyone?
They beat the Giants @ Giants stadium the last time they played there. 2 yrs ago I believe. Killed Warner
If my aunt had nuts she'd be my uncle, what does one have to do with the other ? They should have lost to ARIZONA, they will not go undefeated.... :no:

All NFL schedules have the teams playing opponents with records last year averaging between .45 and .55 for the most part.

THere is no padding of the schedule you numbnuts.

And yes, Grossman had a bad game. Tell me what great QB hasn't had bad games...though I'm not saying Grossman is great. He just had a bad game.

I think this near miss for the bears will make them stronger overall now that they've suffered from adversity.

They will come back more focused than ever.

Bears will lose....in Fall 2007

Da bears!

Why are you arguing a point when nobody has the counterpoint? Read, Snowman nor any other Bear fan hinted at an undefeated season in this thread.

OK, now you can argue sherriff. I stand corrected.

Maybe she does??? :lmao: Sorry , that one was too easy. :D
They should have lost to ARIZONA
You mean the Defense should have stop playing??? Last time I checked there are three aspects of a team: Offense, Defense, Special Teams. Oh, and Green may not have noticed, but there are 60 minutes in a game. The Bears Defense and Offense played horribly in the first qtr, then , as most good teams do, the defense made adjustments and shut down and tore apart the cards in the 2nd half. They never gave up, and kept playing to the end, unlike the Cardinals.
they will not go undefeated.... :no:
Probably not, as it's only been done once, the odds are definitely against team that tries.

They will lose to the Rams.

Holt is a nightmare for that Defense. The Bears struggle against speedy WRs who run crisp routes with good open field moves. See Steve Smith in the playoff game & reg season game last year, and Boldin last week. Also recall how they were torched by Antonio Bryant last year...

I can't understand all the Bears hate. Why hate the Bears and Bears fans? I'm trying to figure this out. FBGs should require everyone to display their hometown and their NFL team in their profile to the left. Maybe it would shed some light to why.

I personaly think it will be vs The Patriots in week 12.

With that being said, any other road game between now and then could be the one. I don't see them blowing it at home.

@ New England Nov. 26th- It will be the Bears third consecutive road game- The Pats can spread the Bears defense out much like the Cardinals did on MNF- The Bears have a potentially big match-up the following week with divison rival Minnesota
I agree.

They will be doing well to take 2 of the 3 road games in weeks 10-12: Giants, Jets, Pats. Even with the "padded" schedule da Bears will lose a couple games minimum finishing 14-2 or 13-3.

lmfao, there is not a 'bears hate'...it is just hilarious to see all the 'Bears the greatest team ever?!' threads disappear now that they have been exposed for the team that they are, which is a good team in a weak division that plays an easy schedule. They are obviously not a great team, but what is even more hilarious is watching all the Bears homers come out of the woodwork to defend the team.

Maybe we should petition the NFL and have their schedule revised according to your recommendations?

Naw us Bears fans are just going to sit in the corner pouting about being 6-0 when some guy like you comes around taking shots about a soft division and a soft schedule. Gee- who has the toughest schedule? Which division is really dominating? Let's split hairs over this tired rhetoric shall we? 6-0 really sucks! Man I am just so BUMMED that the Bears are 6-0! Why does it have to be this way- why me why ohhhh poor old me?

something tells me that the bears homers aren't too excited about being associated with this dude Power Monster :lol:

I'm with you bro. Bears fans finally get a team they can be proud of, and everyone wants to pee on their parade. So a couple of Chicago homers went overboard? Gee, that NEVER happens with fans of other teams. :rolleyes: And what's with everybody pooh-poohing the reasons why they're winning? I guess the only way the Bears will get any amount of respect is if they do the following:--Play a 16 game schedule all on the road against every playoff team and Super Bowl winner for the past 5 years. --Beat said teams by at least 50 points, holding them scoreless with zero yards gained. --Score offensive touchdowns on the first play of every drive and on every special teams play.--Never make a mistake.Whatever folks. But regardless of schedule, miracle plays, or numerous turnovers in one game, 6-0 says everything that needs to be said. :thumbup:

For the record it will either be the G-men or the Pats. 3 in a row on the road is tough on any NFL team even the greatest team of them all!

Ohhh really? As evidenced by what? You wanna come hang out with me and the Bears fans that are not too excited to be associatd with me? Ahhh I see the champs of the cake boys better stay at home with Mommie. Typical needless form of being accepted here by the little click. All too familiar and all too silly cake boy....

I'm thinking they beat the Giants but lose to the Jets or NE and follow that loss up with a loss to the Lambs two/three weeks later. Heck they could easily lose 3 of those 4 road games. 13-3 sounds about right to me and I'm a Bears homer.

As was said a few times, both NY teams are better than people think.Mangini is really getting the most out of his players and they believe in him. As we all know, that goes a long way. I wanna see some player moves and drafts and all but they really could be onto something with him as the coach. If you haven't watched the Jets, well just think how everyone expected them to stink and they haven't. I think they'll play the Bears tougher than Chi-town fans think but the Bears will win.Re-GMenThe Giants were supposed to have this ferocious pass rush but started the season "dead". Now they're awake with their 7 sacks last week. Without the sacks, their D was terrible. The whole D scheme is predicated on pressuring the QB.If they can handle the pass rush and score enough, the Bears will win. I think it's that simple with Grossman or any young(little experience) QB. The Bears are one of few teams that can match all the Giants offensive weapons with their D but they'll have their hands full. Urlacher can't sit home and pick his spots to blitz like he did against the Cards, he'll have to be hunting Tiki all day. Tiki's too good to not get that respect from Lovie's D. When the D's rolling, Pierce is stout in the middle for the Giants. They'll matchup well with Jones+Benson. I really think it comes back to Rex and the line handling the pressure. The Bears line is built from the inside out with Kruetz, the Giants D line is just the opposite with Osi and Strahan outside. It's not strength vs strength at all IMO. As I said I think Pierce will handle the run game but I could see the Bears line pushing em' up the gut. However, who is gonna deal with Strahan and Osi when they have to pass? I think it'll be a well fought tug of war battle and am anxious to see it.Re the fins- I think Saban is a good D mind and he'll give Rex some probs but he'll settle down just fine. I expect Joey to throw safe passes all day as Saban inadvertently throws a ton of respect to the Bears D. No way I'd have Joey do anything but play conservative against that D. It'd be asking for trouble. I don't see the Fins game being a difficult one for them at all.

Cool post- I think it will come down to the Bears running attack and how the defense will play with Mike Brown out. It appears that teams are taking the short sideline passes to try and confuse and move the integral pieces of the defensive secondary. The defense will have to get up on Manning the way the Panthers did last year in that playoff romp. The offense must be patient and pound the ball- wear their lines down. This is going to be a great game but e have a lot of games to go! Cannot wait....

Jets fan here, since some think that's relevent.

Bears are a tough team that got caught looking ahead past the Cards. They got bailed out by their defense -- like all last year.

That's what happens when you have a strong team -- one thing falls apart, another picks the slack up. Did they dodge a huge bullet when Rackers choked? Sure they did.

But those turnovers gave them the lead. Hell I'm impressed with the Cards and Leinart for overcoming that defense in the last two minutes and veing in the position to win.

Given how the Bears D played in the 2nd half, that's impressive.

As for the playoffs - if Grossman can stay consistent and the offense maybe balances the pass and run more - I think they will be dangerous come playoff time.
Looking ahead to WHAT??? Seriously. They have a Bye followed by home games against SF and Miami. That was by FAR their toughest game for almost a month, and they were looking past it? I wonder what are they going to do against their lowly first round playoff opponent.
Could have been looking ahead to a bye week to rest. Could have been thinking, hey here's an easy week - the Cards suck, then we have a bye, then we cruise through SF and pummel Miami. We'll be looking good...Even the best teams get caught thinking too far ahead and not just for a week. I agree with whomever said it was good to have that wake-up call now before it happened against a better team. They'll come to play from here on out.

Sounds like you think I'm putting them down or something when it's far from the case.
:lmao: "Hey fellas, let's just take this week off. So we can be well-rested for our, um, week off."

Yeah, your right, New Orleans is a lock to win its 1st playoff victory EVER on the road in Chicago. Can I have some of what you are smoking please?
New Orleans won a playoff game 5 years ago. Next.
He said ON THE ROAD. Reading skills down?
Correct me here if I'm wrong, but the win was on the road against the defending Super Bowl champion St. Louis Rams.
No, the Saints won the division. Rams snuck in as the last team when the Lions were upset by the lowly Bears.

I thought it was at home against the defending champs St. Louis.

I think the Bears are a very good defensive team with a mediocre at best offense (although the emergence of Berrian and the replacement of Orton with Grossman puts them in a better position than they were in last year). The loss of Mike Brown will bring them back to the pack with regard to how much better they were on defense than the rest of the league. They will still be an incredibly tough defense, but now there is a ***** in the armor.

Here is their remaining schedule -

SF

MIA

@NYG

@NYJ

@NE

MIN

@STL

TB

@DET

GB

They could easily lose to the Giants, Pats, and Rams. It is not out of the realm of possibility that they could struggle with the Lions and Packers (I know that sounds crazy, but without Brown I feel they will be susceptible to play action and pass happy teams).

In reality though, I only see 1 or 2 losses on the schedule followed by a second round loss in the playoffs.

I don't get this. If they get home field in the playoffs then they have a great shot at making the SB. The passing game is worlds apart from the one they had last year with Orton.

Last year, the Bears lost to the Panthers in large part because two different cornerbacks tripped or stumpled on two big plays to Steve Smith. In addition, Rex Grossman was starting his 3rd game of his season and 9th game of his career.By the time the playoffs starts, Grossman will have started 25 games in his career. The Bears special teams has experienced a huge improvement over last year. The Bears defense found an additional pass rusher in Mark Anderson and improved at FS and nickel CB in Manning and Manning. As for Mike Brown, he is a team leader but is a shell of his former self and the dropoff will not be large and that position will continually get better as the season progresses. Berrian is healthy and is much more than a deep target. Desmond Clark is a great target now. Their running game needs to improve but there is no reason to think it won't be as good as last year when it gets going.

Grossman played like crap in his first playoff game but rebounded to get the Bears back in the game and was a couple plays away from putting the game in overtime. He played like crap for most of the Viking game and yet calmly completed the passes to take the lead at the end of the game. Arizona was his worst game ever but he remained confident during the game and was apologetic yet upbeat after the game.

I have no doubt he will rebound. Will he have another bad game? Most likely. But it won't be this bad and hopefully it isn't in the playoffs. Because if he doesn't have a bad game in the playoffs, the Bears will be in Miami.

I'm extremely biased, but I'll guess some team will beat the Bears next August in a preseason game. The Bears will attribute the fluke win to the fact that they played slow due to the weight of the massive super bowl rings they should have taken off during the game.
