***2010-2011 MIAMI HEAT OFFICIAL THREAD*** (1 Viewer)

Im not so sure prime Wade > prime Pippen, but its close. Main advantage for this Heat team is Bosh, but he isnt the type of low post banger most guys with his size and skill usually are. He's better than Ho Grant all around, but Grant and Bill Cartwright were better rebounders.
Bosh has nearly identical rebounding numbers as Grant (even a little better) and has much better rebounding numbers than Cartwright.
Easier to have higher rebounding numbers when the 2nd leading rebounder on your team is Andrea Bargnani with 6 rpg - and I bet Bosh's rebounding numbers go down from 10.8 this year because Miami has more people who can rebound. Meant to say Grant was a better rebounder (which Id still say), but add in Cartwright and I think their frontline's rebounding was better than Miami's will be

I don't think you are doing a bad job of painting this for me. You just happen to be wrong and your position baseless. :kicksrock:
I agree with Pickles, did you see those posters Heat fans were holding up at the welcoming party? Wade was at the head and LeBron and Bosh were both behind him.

So, it looks like:

Chalmers, Arroyo

Wade, James Jones

Lebron, Miller, Da'Sean Butler

Bosh, Haslem, Dexter Pittman/Jarvis Varnado

Z, Magloire, Anthony

??

bad news today for some in the Heat organization ...

With Heat season tickets sold out, team fires season ticket sales staff

Should any season tickets become available, they will be handled through our season ticket deposit program. We thank those employees for their time with the company and wish them success in their future endeavors.
I think it sucks but not really bad news for the team. Classy move in hiring a company to place that sales team.

Riley should've announced their firing in a one-hour special on ESPN.

Udonis Haslem arrested in Florida

MIAMI -- Heat forward Udonis Haslem was arrested Sunday for possession of marijuana following a traffic stop in Miami-Dade County.

Haslem, 30, was stopped in a 2008 Mercedes around 3:05 p.m. going eastbound on the Gratigny Parkway because of speeding, Florida Highway Patrol spokesman Sgt. Mark Wysocky said. The trooper smelled "an odor of marijuana from within the vehicle," Wysocky wrote in a press release, leading to the arrest of both Haslem and passenger Antwain Fleming, 33.

"After the subsequent search, Mr. Haslem and Mr. Fleming were placed under arrest," Wysocky wrote.

According to Miami-Dade court records, Haslem was charged with possessing more than 20 grams of marijuana, a third-degree felony which could bring maximum punishments of a $5,000 fine and a five-year prison sentence.

Haslem was released on bond shortly after 10 p.m.

Besides the speeding citation, Haslem was also charged with illegal window tint, Wysocky said.

Both Haslem's agent, Henry Thomas, and Heat officials said they were collecting information and did not have any immediate comment.

Court records said Fleming was charged with possessing less than 20 grams of marijuana, a first-degree misdemeanor that could bring a $1,000 fine and one-year prison term.

Haslem has spent all seven of his NBA seasons with the Heat, and the South Florida native signed a new five-year contract to stay with the team last month.

"He is our anchor, he is a true warrior and a great professional," Heat president Pat Riley said in July, after Haslem announced he would forgo higher-paying offers elsewhere to stay in Miami and not only continue playing alongside Dwyane Wade, but stay to be teammates with marquee acquisitions LeBron James and Chris Bosh as well.

During his NBA career, Haslem has averaged 10.0 points and 8.1 rebounds for Miami, plus helped the Heat win the 2006 NBA championship.

this is a non issue. He won't serve a day and his fine is irrelevant. I can't he was actually arrested for this. FHP = teh suck

Had not seen this one.

I'm watching them every night down here in Miami. Still feel that a healthy Los Angeles will demolish them but the Heat are coming out of halftime and destroying teams inside of 3-4 minutes of the 3rd period where they take an 8-10 point lead and push it out to 20+ quickly.

I believe they get Boston at home very soon. Will be interesting to see what they do agianst them. Atlanta looks like they are going to win a lot of games in the Heat's division so they might not run away with things till later in the season.

Miami basically starts the game wth the big 3, but then they will rotate Wade and LeBron quite a bit and usually have at least one of them on the court at all tmes. Bosh has not been impressive yet and hasn't been asked to do a lot.

These 4 wins are against the likes of MN, NJ, 76ers, one solid win against Orlando last Friday.

Mke Miller coming back in Jan will be very interesting. Right now Arroyo, Jones, and House are picking up the bench. Would like to see Chalmers used more. Wade is killing it...26 points in about 23 minutes last night, he can do anything he wants when James is on the floor.

A lot of no shows for last nights game. The arena was empty.
Was full in the 2nd Q, then the game was lopsided and people left in the 2nd half. Also it's the Timberwolves. Miami has the worst fan base no matter what the sport, bar none.

Heat is now 0-2 against respectable teams and 4-0 on travel club teams.

They are weak at the 1 and 5 but their defense was not good early in the game. THey also were passing to Eddie House for 3 point shots at the end, I understand it but at the same time Lebron or Wade needs to take that shot.

Had a blast watchng the game on Biscayne last night. They lost but a much more exciting game where they claw their way back into it, nice DJ music playing at the bar, lot of wimmens walking around, good times.

Heat have been outright dominant against the celtics and it's more than "homecourt" advantage. Heat win game 3 and they sweep imo. Joel Anthony has been nothing short of outstanding.

Well we put away the Celtics pretty easily. I doubt we'll have a problem with Bulls.
:goodposting: We put those old guys and their annoying fan base away pretty quickly.

Chicago Oprahs next.
Obviously series has a ways to go yet, but I just wanted to congratulate you both on your stellar predictions.Hope the Bulls didn't make the Heat cry again tonight...

;)
It's a long series guy, get ready to feel the pain of the Heat machine! :boxing: LET'S GO HEAT!

It's on like Donkey Kong! What a great complete game by the Bulls. The Bulls may not be able to play any better than this, and Miami surely can. So I don't know that Chicago's going to be able to win three more times against King James, Wade, & Co., but I absolutely loved the complete team vs. superstars angle this game presented. Chicago's defense, ten deep rotation, youth, unselfishness, and athletic subs ("the bench mob"), provided an unmatched energy and simply wore down El Heat, running them out of the gym tonight.

I'm sure the Heat will respond with some changes and better execution. And I don't think the 'go small' strategy will be repeated throughout the entire series by Spoelstra after tonight. It'll be interesting to see how Miami will address Chicago's domination on the boards and second chance points. If tonight's any indication this is going to be one intense series. Will Chicago be able to impose its will again wearing out the Heat with depth and energy, or will James/Wade bust out and absolutely dominate to win some games.

Either way we're in for a real treat, and I'm gonna have my popcorn ready for each and every game.

heard wade blamed it on his bench. this true?
And honestly IMO, I think this is a reason why Rose deserved the MVP this year. He wasn't the best player in the league. But he bought completely into a new coach's strategy, he always says the right things to his teammates and the media, and you get constant quotes about him from everyone in his organization saying how great a leader he is. On the other hand, Kobe-Howard-James-Wade still at times blame their ills on teammates to the press. There are times when Rose has every right to do the same, but he doesn't. He has helped to create a single focused team that protects their own.
