2011 In Season Dynasty Trade Thread (1 Viewer)

Here's one (PPR Dynasty):

Britt, Charles, Cook, Titans Def

for

Gronk, Helu, Green-Ellis, Patriots Def

Denied because:

"With a 2-1 record you are NOT out of contention, Losing 2 starters and also losing 2 roster spots for the entire 13 more weeks puts you in an impossible position to be competitive.

Consequently, those teams who do NOT play you this season are put at a disadvantage, as well as the teams who have already LOST to you. The competitive balance is too uneven to allow this trade.

Trading the #9 scorer for the # 279 scorer is too absurd to even address.

This trade would injure the integrity of the league."
Pretty ridiculous. Here's a trade that was made today in a dynasty league I commish and I wouldn't even think of vetoing/reversing it. Simply a case of another owner most likely heisting another owner.Team A gives Mark Sanchez, Torrey Smith, 2012 1st (likely mid 1st possibly later), 2012 2nd (like mid 1st possibly later)

Team B gives Andre Johnson, Alex Smith, 2012 3rd (likely mid 1st, possibly earlier)

Edit: Not trying to too my own horn here. I'm sure 90% to 95% of dynasty commissioners would feel the same way.

A rare three team trade:

Team a gets:

Greg Olsen from team c

4th round pick from team b that can become a 3rd (conditions too complicated and likely won't happen)

Steve Breaston from team c

Team b gets:

Matt stafford from team c

Danny Woodhead from team a

Team c gets

Eric decker from b

Colt McCoy from b

Tim Hightower from b

Evan Moore from b

Ryan grant from a

5th rd pick from a

Thoughts?

Team a and b are both playoff contenders. Team c has Aaron Rodgers and Kevin kolb at QB. Team b has Peyton manning and mark Sanchez.

Start 2 QB PPR league... The Gore owner offered this and I am about to accept.

I get - Blaine Gabbert and DeMarco Murray

I send - Josh Johnson and Kendall Hunter

The team that got stafford wins by a mile, he's by FAR the best player in the deal, all the others are just fill in lottery type players.

I feel the same way...I'm team a, and I really need a TE. I don't think I can stop team B from getting Stafford so I figure I might as well get Olsen for really 2 backup running backs.

Trade 1 is a lot to give up for a TE, even one as good as Finley 2nd trade is ok. Don't think much of Hightower so I think the team getting Williams did well. Cook is beast in the talent but hasn't performed. In a couple weeks he could blow up and that team may regret it...

Just went thru in a 12 team idp ppr:

Spiking George gave up Helu, Roy WAS RB;Williams, Carnell STL RB;Baldwin, Jon KCC WR;Gronkowski, Rob NEP TE

I am not involved but someone got robbed...

FWIW (and I should of noted). The future 1st is from a team that is 2-1 and has a pretty stellar lineup. Looks to be a late 1st rounder at this point.

My 12 team ppr, I am hurting at rb having lost j. Charles and then the A. Foster hammy. My only other viable option at rb was DeAngelo Williams. So I traded tampa wr Mike Williams for Jonathan Stewart. Tough that carolina is rbbc, hopefully will work itself out, as I was planning on competing for championship and not Luck. My wr's are still Mike Wallace, aJ Green, Denarius Mooore, Santonio Holmes, Brandon Lloyd, Carolina Steve Smith, and MSW. Plus I have 2 #1 picks and 2 #2 picks for next years rookie draft.

Just moved a late 1st round 2012 rookie pick to get Jonathon Stewart and an early round 3 pick. Basically got Jonathon Stewart to move a pick back 12-15 spots. I'll take that.

Alfonso Smith

2 2012 1st rounders (1 maybe top 5 the other 8-12)

Brian Robiskie

Just went all in on Newton in one of my dynasty leagues, by trading Stafford.

Traded

Stafford

Shaun Hill

for

Turner (have Quizz, who I'm very high on and like as his eventual replacement)

Alex Smith (whatever, wanted a QB back in the deal)

2012 1st (Team is currently 0-4 with a terrible, old roster)

This trade was made to add a top-3 pick to my already pretty loaded team, and to help me win now with Turner.

My studs are now

Newton

CJ2K, Turner, Ingram

Megatron, Nicks, Wallace, Austin

Finley

I feel pretty good about it, although I'll miss Stafford. But I'm all in on Newton now. Worse comes to worst, if Newton comes back down to earth too often this year and I start to question my #2-3 dynasty ranking on him, I'll draft Luck or Griffin, whoever I like more that declares, in the 1st. But most likely, it'll be a high pick, and I'll be gunning for Richardson, assuming the season goes as many expect and he's regarded as the best RB prospect since Peterson/DMC. I think there's a very good chance this pick is 1st overall.

I know to many he's worth more, but getting a RB to put my team over the top, as well as a top-3 pick in a loaded draft, is worth it to me. I have full faith in Newton.

Awful trade for Team A.

Just sold wicked low on Stafford because I have a hard-on for Newton went all in on Newton in one of my dynasty leagues, by trading Stafford.
Say what you like. Do you know how hard it is to trade a QB in a 12 team league, where you start one, for full value? Almost impossible.A likely top-3 pick in 2012 and a startable (but aging) RB to help me win now is a fine deal.

You obviously don't like Newton. That's fine. I'm confident hitching my team to his talent for the foreseeable future.

Remember, as much as dynasty is about building, its also about winning, eventually. If this trade puts me over the top when I would have had Stafford sitting on my bench anyways, then it was worth it. Some guys are obsessed with perpetually rebuilding, and don't even realize it. I'd rather make that one decisive move that many might not approve of, but that puts me on the Champion's throne right now. I still have a young team. The youngest in my league, in fact.

Jamaal Charles

2012 1st round pick (I think it's first overall, but let's call it top 3 - one team may or may not compete with him for 1st overall pick)

I think it's a while before Charles is back - my team in this league is win-now, so I want to take a top RB like Richardson next year (I forget if Lattimore is a true soph or a RS soph) to contribute right away, rather than waiting another year for Charles.

Wtf, is your commish an idiot? In a dynasty I'd rather have the britt/Charles side. it's fair either way and different people would prefer different sides of it, which means it is a very solid deal.

Fire the commish immediately and ridicule him on the leagues message board, the guy isn't very bright.
I was thinking the same thing. In a dynasty the guy getting Charles and Britt is getting a steal. An owner should be allowed to sacrifice this year for the future even if he has a winning record. Obviously the commish already plaid and lost to the 2-1 team by looking at his "reasoning". All of this doesn't even address the fact that Cook was highly thought to be a breakout canidate before the season started. Guy is a joke and needs to be relieved of his duties asap.

Agreed but Team a is getting Olsen and a 4th for Ryan Grant, Danny Woodhead and a 5th. He basically got in to siphon off of Team b's great deal. So not too bad for him either.

Wow. Steal. Team giving away DMC had REALLY better hope Charles returns to form sooner rather than later, and that LeShoure returns to whatever form he might have had, at all.

So one team gets a WR upgrade (long term at least, although it's fairly even short term as well), a significant QB upgrade and Addai for free? Great deal for the team getting Julio imo.

I love that thought. That's exactly it. who wants to keep building? In my dynasty league, I have had ZERO success drafting in the 1st round of our rookie draft, I have made some really bad trades, but I keep taking chances and hitting the waiver wire hard...somehow, while I keep getting accused of "trading my future away" or my team being "too old" I have now won twice in our league's 7 year history, and I'm in the thick of it again.I'd rather win now, worry about the future in the future. I happened to look at the Top 25 list that F&L did in the dynasty rankings thread from 2006. Seriously, there were like 3 or 4 guys in the top 25 list that are still top 25 players. that's huge turnover in just 5 years...so how long does it take to rebuild?

if it takes more than a year or two you're doing something wrong. or you just suck at this. the roster i won with in 2006 is completely different than the won i won with last year, save for my defense, my QB (who was on the bench the first title, and injured last year - Romo) and TO, who was hurt in the playoffs last year as well.

Exactly! And I actually have a very young team, on top of being able to compete now. The mean age of my roster is 24.3, with a median age of 23, which might more accurately represent things. I only know this because my league has a unique spin on things, where articles and interviews are written weekly about the league, its owners, and the rosters. I recently did one on team age, etc.Anyways, I thought that adding an aging Turner to my team would put me over the top. The top-3 pick in 2012 was irresistible as well. Now I get to add another elite talent to my already pretty stacked, young team. Don't see any downside, as long as Cam stays healthy and produces even half of what he has up to date.

Assuming Team B isn't a playoff team it's better to trade DMC now before he's inevitably injured.

wow, 15 player deals are hard to pull off. This pretty much amounts to an 8 player deal, but still those are difficult. I like it for Shoguns long-term, but it's pretty even.

just made this trade and I'm not sure why since i am 1-3

Thx for the feedback , I think so too . I accepted immediately when I seen and then scowered the web for news that he was ir or somethin . I originally offered Thomas n my third rd pick with meachem and he countered with that deal . I'm happy

Mike Thomas does not seem to have much value, I am very surprised that you could pull off that trade.

Salary cap league, 2 trades: $128 cap

Nick Barnett ($2.75) for DeAndre Levy ($0.25), Oshiomogho Atogwe ($3.50), and Eric Berry ($1, IR so doesn't count against cap)

Larry Fitzgerald ($30.25) and Dustin Keller ($3) for Anquan Boldin ($22), Mike Williams (TBB) ($5), Ben Watson ($5.25)

WIth salary escalation, it's unlikely that Fitz or Boldin will be kept next year. Neither will Watson or Atogwe most likely.

0-4 Team Trades

Roddy White to last year's winner for.

2012 1st Round (via other owner top 4 pick)

2012 2nd Rounder (probably top 4)

THE OWNER THAT TRADED WHITE AWAY ROSTER:

QB: Vick, MRyan, McNabb, VYoung

WR: GJennings, Manningham, Colston, Manningham, Crabtree,M FLoyd, TGinnJr, Collie, Hankerson, Dem.Thomas,

RB: Bradshaw, Jacobs, Spiller, Moreno, M.Bush, S.Jackson, Helu

TE: V.Davis, O.Daniels

He could end up with the top 2 picks in the draft next year. Luck, Richardson? Last year's crappy team had 3 first rounders and ended up with Ingram #1, AJ Green #3, Cam Newton #7. (I took Little @ #6 whoops).

Wondering what the valuation is on Desean Jackson...should I try to trade him for those 2 picks. Djax has talent and coming off big game but he's a Boom/bust guy that is frustrating.

We're in a 10-team PPR league w/ RET yd pts that is deep due to 25man rosters

2QB

3WR

2RB

1TE

1W/T

2W/R

16 team 0.5 PPR

The sort of trade that as Commish I hate to process.

Team A gave

Matt Moore

Deangelo Wiliams

2nd

4th

Team B gave

Alex Smith

I #### you not. Team A didn't have a QB this week as they are all on bye but come on.
