2011 offseason dynasty trades (1 Viewer)

oh, I understand you have needs or w/e... but I wouldn't trade fitz straight up for a runningback less than the DMC/Mendy/MJD tier. If Ingram ends up being a stud, it will be a great trade for you, but its a lot of risk, and I think you left value on the table.
Just a nitpick, but based on trade value, MJD is a tier below Mendy/DMC. Over-cautiousness about the knees I suppose.
I would put him as the last back in their tier for dynasty. Here is my tier view (players are not in order in their tiers)Tier 1ADPCJ3CharlesTier 2Ray RiceArian FosterLeSean McCoyTier 3McFaddenMendyMJDTier 4Forte
I would move Rice to tier 1, Forte/Mendy/DMC to tier 2, and MJD to tier 4 (which is then tier 3). I see much less separation between these guys - 3 tiers, not 4.
I have all 6 in the 1st tier together. All are young, all catch passes and I would not mind any of the 6 if I drew the 6th pick in a start up.Tier 1ADPCJ3CharlesRay RiceArian FosterLeSean McCoyI start my tier 2 with McFadden

I suppose I have Foster in tier 1 as well - but not McCoy. He gets a bump in PPR, but in that offense and with Reid's history, I don't think I can make him a tier 1 RB1. Ronnie and Vick both eat into his redzone this year I'd bet. To me, he is Ray Rice, but not quite as good. A slightly-less-rich-man's Ray Rice (as opposed to a poor man's version).

I agree and I was talking PPR for my rankings.

12 team PPR - not a huge trade but can you tell I live near Cleveland ?

Las Vegas gave up:

Tebow, Tim DEN QB

Keller, Dustin NYJ TE

Year 2011 Draft Pick 5.09

Newfoundland gave up:

McCoy, Colt CLE QB

I am the same, and I have DMC/Mendy/MJD/Forte, in that order, in the next tier. In a start up, I would draft Fitz after DMC and mendy and before MJD and forte, so I think they are all about the same value.

In a non-ppr league with roster room problems:

Gave: Jordy/A. Roberts/D. Murray/2nd

Got: Holmes

Not the greatest value but couldn't sell them off individually and would have had to drop at least two of them in a couple weeks.

I think you did okay gianmarco. Like you said, hard to sell some players individually.
Well, the issue is that Holmes is like my WR6-7 and will never play for me. I'd rather hold the younger guys and hope even just 1 turns into Holmes-type value and the rest is bonus. I'll just have to use him to upgrade at this point. I couldn't even get 2nd round picks and the longer I waited the less likely someone would pay since they'd have a shot to get them free when I had to drop.

I like the deal for you.

I like it for you. You can flip Holmes for more than you would have gotten at a position of need for those guys.

12 Team PPR. Start 1 QB, 1 RB, 1 WR, 1 TE, 3 FLEX, 1 K, 1 DEF

Team A Trades: Montario Hardesty, 1st and 3rd round picks in 2012

Team B Trades: Mario Manningham

Team A roster after trade (for evaluating the draft picks)

QB: Bradford

RB: Ingram, R. Grant, Starks, M. Bush, Goodson

WR: Calvin Johnson, D. Bryant, Manningham, Little, Cobb, A. Roberts, D. Thomas

TE: J. Graham, Gresham

Also to consider is the rookie draft is auction style, so later round picks are more useful as they just add to the value of other picks.

Team A (Our worst team): Gets Garcon/Vereen/2012 2nd round rookie/fa pick, most likely 23rd or 24th overall

Team B: Gets Julio Jones

Thoughts?

You should have never moved J. Jones that cheap. Sorry.
Wasn't my trade. I post our league dynasty trades whether it's me or another owner. It actually bugs the heck out of me because Jones is going to our best team and he basically took advantage of the dude.

Team A traded Ben Roethlisberger and Marques Colston

Team B traded Blaine Gabbert and Ryan Mathews.

In this 12 team dynasty league, Team A was looking to get a QB prospect and get a relevant RB, Team B was looking to get better now.

14 team PPR with dev. picks.

Gave: Ryan Grant

Got: 2012 1st rounder (loses some value due to some players being gone due to dev. picks)

I hate that for ya, its always upsetting when the rich get richer based on one owners poor judgement.

Team A trades: Hightower/Brandon Tate/2012 2ndTeam B trades: Arrelious Benn
I would have thought the 2nd would have been more than enough to get him. But then again it's not like Tate or Hightower are worth much.
Both of us were quite high on Benn. I won the league last year and have the roster to finish top 2-3 again, so it'll be a late 2nd. He's thin at RB so any possibly starter is worth more to him than me. Benn is my WR 6/7, just buying the talent I like.

12 team PPR (this really did happen) Projected pick to be top 4 (team has nearly no chance to make the playoffs this year yet trades away a projected high 1st for a 28 year old RB)

Orlando gave up:

Year 2013 Round 1 Draft Pick from Orlando

Boise gave up:

Addai, Joseph IND RB

:yucky:

Wow

12 team PPR (my league makes WAY too many deals)

Las Vegas gave up:

Year 2011 Draft Pick 1.07

Year 2011 Draft Pick 1.10

Year 2011 Draft Pick 2.04

Year 2011 Draft Pick 2.08

Coney Island gave up:

Jackson, DeSean PHI WR

10 Team Super Flex PPR, must start 3 WRs

Team A received: Mark Sanchez, '12 2nd

Team B received: Reggie Wayne, '12 4th

Team A's makeup: Has Rivers, Alex Smith, Hasselbeck at QB, and Wayne was his number 1. Has left at WR, Amendola, Burleson, Cooper, Driver, K. Durham, Hankerson, Hester, DHB, Jenkins, Jernigan, James Jones,

A. Roberts, Schilens.

Team B's makeup: Has Eli, Orton, Kolb, Gabbert, Flynn at QB, Nicks, then a pretty big drop off at WR with, Santana, SS Car, Cobb, Torrey Smith, Simpson, Damien Williams

I'm in a 12 team IDP Dynasty league with PPR and tackle heavy scoring. Going into the draft, I had some extra depth at running back, virtually no bright future at QB, and a WR corps that ranked in the bottom half of the league. Found an owner who was willing to wheel and deal. Here was our first trade:

I give:

L. Blount, Pick 5.11

I get:

S. Bradford, C. Dunlap

I would have picked a rookie DE in the 4th round, but getting one who is just as good and further along for a 5th was a no brainer. Solid pickup for both of us though because he needed a running back badly and I needed a QB.

This next deal was highway robbery imo...

I give:

A.J. Hawk, Pick 2.11

I get:

Antonio Gates, Pick 5.11

I guess he really wanted to trade up, and since I was deep at LB, this was a no brainer. Also get my pick back from the previous trade lol.

Mulling over this offer but  due to Gore's age.

I give: Collie, J. Rodgers, Carter

I get: Gore, Hunter

With Gore 29 next year, is he worth this in a dynasty league?

I'd do it.

Not sure Carter beats out Darren Evans. Rodgers has nice potential as 3rd down back, but not exactly fantasy relevant. Collie's as risky as Gore - with less of a track record.

If a starting RB will put you into playoff contention or league winner contention I would do it. If not, stick with Collie.Whats the rest of your roster like?

Likely starters in bold, with italicized for possible starters. Vick, Gabbert

Rice, MJD, Carter, J Rodgers, Goodson, Jennings

Wayne, Holmes, Collie, Smith (Panthers) Ford, Little, Branch, Golden Tate, Armstrong, Burress

Cooley, Cook

Obvious starters IF I did the trade-

Vick

Rice, MJD, Gore

Wayne, Holmes, Smitty or Ford or Little

Cooley or Cook

Yikes.
Not to approve of the trade, but the latter owner had Carson Palmer & Alex Smith at QB. I like the Andre/Graham side myself a bit more, but maybe Kolb shocks me Year 1. Even as Cards homer, not expecting much fantasy relevancy out of him this year (with so few practices under his belt). Time to buy Kolb (if you are going to) is next offseason.

I completed the Gore trade, hopefully that allows Jpeso to sleep better tonight

I gave: Collie, J. Rodgers, Carter

I got: Gore, Hunter
