It could end up being a nice move, but I couldn't deal fadden for that.

I know that I have a reputation as a DMC hater, but I'm surprised people are so optimistic about him. He is a chronic disappointment and things are looking really grim for the Raiders this year. He will probably sign elsewhere in a year, but will he be the unquestioned starter? Will he thrive? Will he stay healthy? Those are all big question marks IMO.

I think the guy getting Pierce and Brown made a sneaky preemptive move to pick up two potential starting caliber talents on the cheap while they're still riding the bench. I like it.

How on earth is that considered "on the cheap"?? Looks more like paying their max value to get them.

Don't get me wrong, I like pierce a lot, and brown is ok.........but when exactly do you see them NOT riding the pine? Rooting for trade or injury will be tough from now till about 2016.

You have to look at the price. What did he give up? McFadden? A player who has one good complete season despite being in the league for 5 years? I know a lot of people still like him, but to me he's best viewed as a dynasty RB3. Hope for the best. Prepare for the worst. That kind of guy.

I wouldn't say that Pierce and Brown are sure things, but those guys would be high on my list if I were trying to predict which backups will be starters in the future. Neither has any opportunity. That's why they're available this cheap. If not for the roadbloacks, they'd be valued alongside guys like Lamar Miller and David Wilson.

Hence why I think it's a nice preemptive move. A chance to get two players with starting potential on the cheap before their opportunity clears up and their value skyrockets. It's a good example of looking ahead and trying to anticipate future developments instead of being rooted to the present.

While I agree that on paper Dmac might be worth more, the double benefit of handcuffing Rice/McCoy short term and having big time future value potential makes the trade a lot closer.

Great move to get younger.

I think in most scenarios as far as my team makeup goes I would take AP and Marshall. I see AP and Marshall being better for the next 3 years. But is that "BETTER" over the next 3 years enough to miss out on what Green gives you for a long time when Marshall is done. Theoretically Wilson should outlast AP a while............but also no guarantees Wilson is anywhere near Peterson type productive, ever.

Hard trade. I can't fault either side.

I can understand liking it, but the ADP/market value is way off. DMC is going in the 3rd/4th area, and is being drafted as a high-end dynasty RB2. The person moving on from DMC is giving up a lot, in terms of value. I just have a hard time believing this is the best deal he could get, given how consistantly owners are paying more in startups.

Did this trade today in my 12 team, 0.5PPR, start 1/2/3/1 league. Odd thing about the league is we can only have 22 players max at anytime, so at the draft you have to drop a player to draft someone if your roster is full. So non -1st aren't as valuable.

Gave: Vereen, 2014 2nd (non-playoff), 2014 2nd (borderline playoff team), my 2015 2nd (baring disaster, very late)

Got: 2014 1st (I think non-playoff) and 2015 3rd

Probably selling Vereen cheap, but he's my RB6 and I wanted to take a strategic risk the 1st pays off next year.

Seems like a fair trade across the board. Edge to the Kaepernick Ridley side. Love those guys going forward, and I really think Vereen will be a nice dynasty hold as well. If Cruz gets to 100% he should be a very solid WR. Austin should be a nice PPR play, still tough to gauge his value right now in non-PPR. I think Brady blows up this year, but in dynasty I give a substantial edge to Kaepernick.

I made this mistake a few years ago. Traded Gronk before week 1. DUMB DUMB move, and a learning experience. I had ZERO reason to deal the guy, considering if he woulda gone out week 1 and caught zero passes his value would been the same as before the game.

Kinda like Julius. If he went out and caught 2 balls for 20 yards, would his value have dropped?? Not likely. So trading him for the same value before the game as he would be even if he did nothing..............bad move. I was a victim of that once, never again.

Not sure why A would give up so much for the players he's acquired? To me that looks terribly one sided

A is rebuilding, and is at least 2-3 years from competing. And has a top 2 pick in the draft.

So, since he's rebuilding, he gave away one of the top ROOKIE WR's in Gordon and a 24 year old Golden Tate for Foles/Kolb and Acho?Yeah, that makes complete sense. (hint: the reason he's rebuilding is because of trades like this)

Well Team A's owner took over a abandon team. Tate means little/nothing (Baldwin is better). Gordon has value, but he's nothing special IMO. Team A's qb were Rivers, Chase Daniels and Matt More, so getting Foles for Gordon/Sproles was godsend. Its not like Team A could get Luck/RG3/Wilson for Sproles/Gordon, plus Kolb for free and a look at Acho. Team A overpaid on surface but the thought process was correct based on the roster situation even if Foles whiffs. Foles last 4 games as a starter he avg 20.1 points, Kolb's 4 games as a full starter 17.4 including a dud at STL. Looks pretty bad on surface to a avg FF player but in 2 years Team B could be crippled and Team A wont be missing a 32 yo RB and a ok WR.

Agreed.. horrible deal and worse logic to defend it. Even if Sproles is getting older, you should be able to move him to a contender for far more than he is receiving. Plus, you have no idea if Gordon is special but to ignore his promise is foolish. I'm not huge on Golden Tate but please don't try to sell me on Foles/Kolb. I didn't have much on Gordon to really evaluate him as much as I wanted to at the time. I actually got him back for Jared Allen and then traded him 'low' again for Nicks and a 1st because I wanted no parts. Crazy how things turn out huh?
