2014 Concerts Thread (1 Viewer)

Went to Jack White last night. More of a fan of him as a person than I am of his music, but that concert was ridiculously good.

Going to see Volbeat, Five Finger Death Punch, and Hell Yeah on October 8th
what a show. spent most of the night 20 feet from the stage with mosh pits and crowd surfers all around. I'm too old for that #### now but it was cool to see it again. the most energetic show I've been to in years.

for anyone who likes harder rock, you really should check out Volbeat. they tore it up again last night. :headbang:

just saw the pretty reckless on sunday in a small venue. it was a fun show and she can really sing

hoping to get tickets to black keys and jake bugg , the show is in 2 weeks

Going to see Tom Petty at the Forum tomorrow night. Went to the Gretna music festival in New Orleans last weekend. Gotta say - Marc Broussard blew me away. Huge fan.

I saw Nas perform "Illmatic" in its entirety last night. It was sick. I can cross another item off of my rap bucket list.

I also saw the War on Drugs and the Barr Brothers on Friday night. They really put on a cool show. I'd highly recommend checking out both bands if you are unfamiliar with them.

I'm at the Life is Beautiful festival in Las Vegas. It is one of the greatest events I have ever attended. The sightseeing is just incredible around the festival.

Yesterday, I saw Kanye West, the Weeknd, Girl Talk, Phantogram, and Echosmith.

Today, I'm going to see Outkast, Lionel Richie, Alt-J, and the Roots.

Chevelle at Bogart's tonight then Rockstar Uproar with Godsmack, Skillet, and others tomorrow at Riverbend. Decent weekend of rock in Cincy.
 I saw Chevelle in Philly and Allentown on Labor Day weekend. Going to see them again in Baltimore and Jersey in December.

I saw Wilco last night in Raleigh, and they were great. It's their 20th anniversary tour, and they played so many songs from their last 20 years. They had no opening act, and they played for almost 3 hours. It was an outdoor show, and it was a clear cool night around 55 degrees, and they closed the show with California Stars. It was fun.

Rockstar Uproar was a really good show, saw that show in August in Detroit, pretty killer seats at Pine Knob.

John Prine put on a great show as always last weekend, but by the end of the night his voice was getting very weak. Started very strong though. I'd recommend seeing him on this tour if you can.

Saw EmmyLou Harris last night.Just as beautiful as she was in the 70s still with a voice of an angel.Incredible show.
Love her. Did you recognize anybody in her band? I have no idea who she is playing with these days.
Didn't really recognize anyone. She is touring with Glory.I was hoping there would be a special apperance maybe Neal Young or Little Feat but didn't get that lucky.Great concert though if you ever get a chance to go toa show you will not be dissapointed.

Lucinda Williams was great in DC earlier this week. Closed her second encore with Neil Young's Rockin in the Free World. Blew it up.

Going to see the Chandler Travis 3-0 tomorrow night.
That was a great show at a very small venue -- the Stoltz Listening Room in Easton. Myabe 50-70 people in a crowded room, bar at the back, my feet at the base of the stage.

The band members are music teachers or professors and do this for fun, and they're quite good. And not very serious most of the time. I talked to an older man in his 70's behind me who said he had never heard of them but came to the show at the urging of his autistic grandson. The clarinet/organ player is the grandson's music teacher for the last 5 years, and the kid has made great progress both musically and in life as a result. I got to talk to the clarinet guy during the break, relayed the above, and basically said "thanks for what you do, you've made a difference in some lives -- and the music's great by the way".

They opened the second set with the greatest cowboy song ever written.

And the clarinet player plays pretty good.

I badly wanted to see her in Annapolis Thursday, but 2 concerts and 5 days of work in one week is just too much for me.

Saw Mitisyahu in October. I loved the show but my wife did not dig it to much which always sucks.

Saw Cloe Swindell, Lee Brice, and Luke Bryan in Phoenix. I am not a big fan of this music and I dont really care much for any of these guys. The place was packed and it was super loud. My wife loved it and I put on a good face for the show. I did a much better job of acting like I wanted to be there then she did for Mitisyahu.

I just got tickets for The Avett Brothers in February.

Saw def leopard a few weeks back at a small venue. Nobody can hit the high notes anymore but they put on a great show! Fun concert

Picked up 10th row Who tickets for next September, really fired up.

The Hold Steady is playing 4 straight nights in Toronto at the Horseshoe Tavern. I'm going tomorrow night. Last night was the first of 4 and they played Almost Killed Me front to back. Too much to hope for Separation Sunday or Boys and Girls in America tomorrow night?

Have a blast - they are so awesome live.

Going to see Extreme in early 2015 - I'll have to wait for the new year's thread I guess. They are doing the Pornografitti album front to back and then playing their other "hits". They are a bucket list band for me - terribly underrated IMO (and negatively categorized thanks to More Than Words).

Saw Garth Brooks in 1991 and saw him again last night. The old guy still has it. Put on a helluva an entertaining show. Sold out 3 consecutive nights in about an hour.

Seeing Garth do The Dance live is kinda like seeing the Eagles do Desperado live...you just need to see it once.

Bump and update Subject or new thread? Was not sure so opted bump.

Fleetwood Mac this Friday at the X in St Paul.

ETA: great show!
