**2015 MLB Season Thread: This is how the chapter ends (4 Viewers)

Random, but I went to a game at Camden Yards about seven years ago when the O's were playing the White Sox, and they had to finish a suspended game from Chicago before the start of the regular game. I thought even THAT seemed weird to have the White Sox be the home team in Baltimore, even for an inning or two.

Braun out of lineup again wtf?
yea something called "gerardo parra" is listed as batting third tonight. really weird.
Yeah I've had about enough of Braun already. Some "minor injury" has him out tonight, guy is terrible and needs to go on the DL. And when I say DL, I mean teh juise.
Made an appearance as a PH last night and promptly struck out. Thanks for contributing Braun!
Hit a homer tonight. I'm thinking about ordering a marching band and confetti to his residence tonight.
:excited:

Apparently there are fans standing outside the stadium watching the O's game. Just saw Chris Davis hit a home run ball out to them.(Game is free on MLB tv today)

Too bad the Orioles game was such a blowout. I would have liked to see a critical late-innings situation happen with no crowd noise.

Charlie Sanders 11-yard pass from Greg Landry (Benny Ricardo kick) ..... 7-0

Benny Ricardo 34-yard FG ........................................................................ 10-0

Chuck Foreman 6-yard run (Fred Cox kick) .............................................. 10-7

Every at-bat Hanley gets makes me feel like I'm watching a ####tier version of Manny.
:lmao:
This is :lmao: because pretty much 99.9% of hitters are a ####tier version of Manny. To have the guy come out and hit 10 jacks before April is done is extra :lmao:
Yeah, I was sort of talking about their approaches, which led to the comparison.

Glad he's doing well. I hope he has a career year.

Nice of you to bump a two-week old post when a guy gets hot. Doesn't seem petty at all.

Gets hot? His slash on 4/12, when you posted this, was .320/.333/.680.

Nope. Posted during the Sunday night game. Probably before the home run, considering the score was 10-3 in the fifth that night. At that point, he had two home runs and five runs batted in. (Don't bother with the RBI lecture -- it merely serves to give one an idea). Still a really nice .318/.348/.591, but with a whopping two home runs.

He had sat out the day before. I'd call eight home runs in seventeen days "hot." And I'm using your "jacks" argument, so to switch to the slash line is pretty basic.

But I was more commenting on bumping the two and a half week old post. Good work, detective.

you new here?
 Yeahhh... If this is par for the course, my apologies. I keep my posting here to a minimum because I don't follow baseball like I did in the nineties. The hockey thread has its own ways also. I hope Hanley stays injury-free, hits forty home runs, and we can all laugh at what a dumb posting that was as the Red Sox make the playoffs.

Last night I had to explain to my son why the right side of the Phillies' infield gets paid $40 million to hit .152 collectively, while there are millions of children starving in Africa. Do you want to explain that to my son, Mr. Amaro? We are all ears.

Well, they donated thousands of 2009 World Champs and 2010 NL Pennant winners shirts to the cause.

Why are the Cubs batting their pitcher 8th? What's the strategy there?
Here's a numbers-heavy article, but the reasoning the Mets manager has given about thinking of using the strategy is that you're more likely to have runners on base for your best hitters (hitting 3rd and 4th in the lineup) if you have legitimate hitters in the 9-1-2 spots.

I know everyone hates him but that go ahead missile HR by ARod, 660 to boot, amid piercing boos at Fenway was pretty ####### cool.
