Then you're saying they shouldn't even carry him on the postseason roster. Because there's at least as good a chance (and likely a much better one) of Storen pitching in a big spot in the 7th or 8th as there would have been if he was pitching the 9thUnless you're saying that the title of "closer" is what causes your lack of faith in him in the playoffs and not his own intestinal fortitude.I was at Storenplayoffmeltdown II, Electric Terribleoo last year. I wouldn't trust him in that same spot again, and I hate me Papeldoosh
Just like John Smoltz said this past weekend, "there is just something different about those last three outs." Some have it, some don't. Storen is forever going to be beta-blocked by the Cards game. Way to oversimplify it and put words into my mouth, well played. <_<Then you're saying they shouldn't even carry him on the postseason roster. Wood heading to Detroit in a Price deal.Looks like Braves are involved in the Marlins/Dodgers deal. Alex Wood and Jose Peraza involved it appears.

Has there ever been a time when you didn't take offense to something? I wasn't oversimplifying or putting words in your mouth, I thought I was just having a conversation. So you're saying you wouldn't trust him specifically as a 9th inning guy, fine. That's what I meant when I asked if the title of "closer" is what makes you think he can't do it and not something in his belly.Just like John Smoltz said this past weekend, "there is just something different about those last three outs." Yeah, you literally made up defensive stats during the Reyes/Tulo discussion. But I don't necessarily take offense to things, I just love to argue about stuff.
No I didn't, fangraphs is your friend. Reyes and Tulo are almost the same SS right now, UZR, Def Eff, etc. :taleofthetape: :tulowillplay11gamesnextyear:Yeah, you literally made up defensive stats during the Reyes/Tulo discussion. But I don't necessarily take offense to things, I just love to argue about stuff.![]()
For one thing, they're causing you to put question marks on the wrong sentencesWhat are the Rangers doing. They're like 5 under?
Clearly a move for the next three years. You get a healthy Yu, Holland, Perez with Hamels next year. 2016 starting rotation is all but set. What are the Rangers doing. They're like 5 under?
DFW is the 5th biggest market in the U.S. and the Rangers have a $3 billion TV deal.@jonmorosi: UPDATED: #Rangers get Hamels, Diekman, cash; #Phillies get Alfaro, Williams, Eickhoff, Asher, M. Harrison and one more player, per source.
Getting out from under Harrison's contract means the Rangers added only $10 million a year to the payroll to add Hamels. And that's prior to what cash Philly is sending over.
Not my nickels to worry about. I'm sure the "Rags" will find plenty of cash.DFW is the 5th biggest market in the U.S. and the Rangers have a $3 billion TV deal. Don't you have some stats to make up or FanGraphs to read wrong?
Hey. Thanks. Appreciate it. I'm sure NV had it all wrong earlier.I see you're still an ugly little #####, same as it ever was. Here is the fangraphs link to Tulo v Reyes so I can assist your dumb ###. Notice Elvis Andrus right below them, lol.Not my nickels to worry about. DD talk to me about Thompson, I don't really know much about him other than the Rangers got him last year in the Soria trade, he was somewhat highly rated but has scuffled a bit this year..
2014 scouting report courtesy of BPNot one word of Thompson's story changed with his introduction to full-season ball: future quality mid-rotation starter in, future quality mid-rotation starter out. The 20-year-old's slider is his best pitch, and makes it easy for him to rack up strikeouts despite work needed on his fastball command, changeup and nascent curveball. Thompson projects as more of a groundball machine, eventually. Early returns on the 2012 second-rounder are appealing, and while the upside doesn't wow, he's headed for a future as, well, a quality major-league starter.
Hey. Thanks. Appreciate it. I'm sure NV had it all wrong earlier.
Hamels has a very friendly contract for a pitcher who has put together what he has over the years vs. what other similar pitchers are commanding in FA, and that's under team control through 2018.Huh Hamels is already signed for like 3 more years, not sure what I was thinking.
You're fine.I don't really want to get into the middle of this, but UZR numbers are pretty noisy with less than a year as a sample size. FG even notes as much in their library: http://www.fangraphs.com/library/defense/uzr/
This would be Reyes' 7th straight year with a negative UZR, his range has tanked and has never really recovered. I think it's pretty safe to say that he's not a good defender at this point. Tulo's always relied more on his sure hands than his range, but it's absolutely not out of the question that he's hit his wall, defensively. But I don't think it's early enough to tell.
Basically that's what I said earlier, but really Jonah Keri said it best.I don't really want to get into the middle of this, but UZR numbers are pretty noisy with less than a year as a sample size. FG even notes as much in their library: http://www.fangraphs.com/library/defense/uzr/

considerations. The reason you didn't mention Wockenfuss is because it is a universal truth that will never be questioned. But I don't necessarily take offense to things, I just love to argue about stuff. Say something bad about Miggy or my sister...yeah...I might take offense.
Because of my fascination with Moneyball and how that whole draft played out, it's a bit ironic that Blanton was drafted only seven picks behind Hamels and both were traded tonight.JZilla to the Pirates forconsiderations.
lol I thought you were kidding.Wilmer Flores just stopped crying.
Yeah the Colorado end would look a lot better if it was just the three prospects. Reyes (only because of his contract) has negative value, but Toronto likely doesn't do it without Reyes going the other way to make it mostly salary neutral for the next couple years (post 2016, Jays only major commitments are Martin/Donaldson/Tulo).Taking Reyes back was really bizarre. Don't understand why they didn't just make Toronto trade him elsewhere.
Power bat heading to the best team in baseball. And Cards dealt one of their top prospects in Kaminsky. Why wow?
I think it makes sense. Moss hasn't been great this year but fills a need with Holliday being out for however long. Kaminsky is a good prospect but is still in A ball. Seems like a fair deal to me.Power bat heading to the best team in baseball. And Cards dealt one of their top prospects in Kaminsky. Why wow?
