**2015 MLB Season Thread: This is how the chapter ends (1 Viewer)

Anybody watching this CLE NYY game? I don't like that "in the area" rule. Bird clearly threw a bad ball and it should have been replayed/overturned.

Hamels AL splits are pretty bad and he has laid an egg in two Rangers starts. Guessing he adjusts well and is a #2 fantasy pitcher going forward, but I'm a little :scared: especially after they announced he's getting bumped back.

Way too many shares in this guy in keeper leagues, I do not need him to suck. Wish the Cubs or Doyers would have landed him.
Congrats on getting your Hamels win today. I was pulling for you.

When I was dumb enough to play H2H, it was a 20 week regular season to avoid overlapping with the football season. So playoffs started week 21

playoffs already? thats dumb

:lmao:

there is still like 25% of the season left
4 weeks of playoffs and the league voted to end the season early so as not to interfere with football. I voted against it.
Looks like you need to find a new league.

H2H playoffs the last two weeks of the regular season in baseball is stupid. The teams out of it are playing their kids and the vets who had been battling through various ailments get shut down. The teams that have already clinched are resting their core players. Then there's the variable of if a team clinches mid-week. Do you start those guys on your team or not? Roster expansion will have an impact either way, but much less so earlier in the month.

H2H finals make the most sense mid September and I think a 2 week final is the way to go.

yep another reason we end it early. Just like in football nobody plays a week 17 championship game.

Anyway back to my vent. ..if they didn't inexplicably call kang out on that instant replay, Alvarez hr wouldve been a 2 run hr and i wouldve won runs category and won my playoff game.

Fangraphs still giving SD a .8% of winning the division, given that LA and SF have dropped so many games. Still in it!

Most cotenders/league leaders around 8-10%: KC, NYY, TOR, STL, PIT, NYM. Except LAD, who Fangraphs' projection system loves, seemingly because of the top of their rotation.

Here are fangraphs' odds: http://www.fangraphs.com/coolstandings.aspx?type=2&lg=div&date=current

Here are the odds if every playoff matchup is treated like a coinflip: http://www.fangraphs.com/coolstandings.aspx?type=0&lg=div&date=current

I dropped Corey Dickerson in both my keeper leagues for Charlie Blackmon last year.

I haven't regretted it in the slightest.
I still have Dickerson, but he probably won't make my keeper cut next season. I tried to deal him before the deadline but couldn't give him away. If that's how low his value is going into next season, he's going to be a steal in the draft.

His value has bottomed out that much? I mean, I get this season being a lost cause due to his injury, but it should be healed by Spring Training.

this year he went in the top 5 rounds. Next year he won't

Yeah, it's not like he had surgical repairs or a hand or shoulder or oblique problem. It was plantar faciitis—which should be long gone by next spring—and a then some bad luck with the broken ribs. It's not like the guy forgot how to hit. I'm in first place playing to win, so I offered him to half a dozen teams, made multiple attempts to gauge his value (he's keeper-eligible through 2018!) and got zero interest. Couldn't even get Maybin in return. When that offer was rejected, I gave up.

I'd love to keep him, but my keeper stock is ridiculous next season.

I have a feeling he'll be on every sleeper list out there though. I hope he stays under the radar so I can get him back.
