2015 NBA Thread: I felt a great disturbance in the trolls, as if millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced. (1 Viewer)

Has anybody had a chance to watch the Curry mouth guard throw in angles different than what was shown on TV?  I've watched the replay on YouTube a few times (all with the view from tv)--and it looks as though a fan stood up and was waving "goodbye" to him for picking up his sixth foul--and curry seemed to throw his mouth guard pretty hard towards (at) him.  I'm not sure if it's safe to call it a "random" throw that sailed on him.  As a person that is rooting for GS to win it all--the more I see the replays--the more I slightly worry about him getting suspended. His wife calling the NBA rigged also doesn't help much. Uggh.

Supposedly it was Dan Gilbert's son

Was wondering when Kid Sabonis was going to move up.  Didn't see him play a ton at Gonzaga, but every time I saw him I felt like I was watching a future contributor to a good NBA team.
Yep. Should be a solid, if unspectacular, NBA player for a long time. He's well advanced offensively for his age even if he must learn to go right.

There's no comparison between the 2 right now (I don't think there's an age difference), but I think Skal could go ahead of Sabonis. Skal would be a perfect pick for teams with multi 1st rounders. With a glut of PFs available in that area, one of them will slide down. Right or wrong, I wouldn't be surprised if it were Sabonis with the least upside athletically.

===================

And finally, I'll throw up if the Bulls take Wade Baldwin at 14. Might as well keep Rose if that's what you're after. I think he's a fringe 1st round talent (at best).Just absolutely crazy IMO where I've seen him talked about in the 1st 10 picks lately. Keep dreaming guy, you're not Westbrook.

She deleted her tweet saying she tweeted out of emotion, but it's been captured everywhere.

I agree.  Live action, I thought it was just a random pissed off tantrum.  Watching it over and over it does appear to be more deliberate, but maybe slow replay just gives that appearance.  Either way, a fine is imminent, but no chance of a suspension...league MVP/game 7...no way.

Why is it rigged when your team loses because well they aren't playing well? Cavs were on a mission from the first moment and imo take out the "questionable" calls, they still would have won.

I think GS wins.  And they are professional athletes so "momentum" means less to the guys in the locker room than fans and analysts.  But I imagine anyone who is a GS fan, if they are being honest, is ####ting their pants thinking "their superstar is playing a lot better than ours."
I have to lean Cavs knowing that Iguodala is hurt.

Did the press inform him that Udonis was suspended for the same thing?
Haslam was suspended for intentionally throwing it at a ref.  Aaron Brooks and Enes Kanter both just received $25k fines for intentionally throwing their mouthpieces into the stands in 2014 and 2015.

Having said that, personally I see hitting a fan as worse than throwing it at a ref, but the NBA clearly does not.  The precedent is there though.  If they don't suspend Aaron Brooks, there's no way in hell they suspend Curry for a finals game 7.

I think its fair to say he was just pissed and throwing it.  Not at anyone or anything.  Whether that is a sufficient defense is up in the air.
That fan had been riding him all game. Talking about his shoes, his height, his daughter. The guy wouldn't let up. So curry had had enough and flung his mouth guard in what looked like a random angry toss but was a calculated strike against one particular fan. Curry's accuracy is too good from that range for it to be anything but a premeditated attack. He had been planning that since the 2nd quarter.

I'm sure most Cleveland fans wrote this team off down 3-1 and now they are buying back in, setting up for another giant kick in the balls for those poor folks

That's pretty sad coming from a coach.

Imagine if LeBron threw a mouth guard and hit a fan?  I'll leave it at that.  Serious double standard.  Between Draymond, Curry acting like a baby and Kerr complaining.  Funny what adversity does.
Agree with this sentiment, I think one of the announcers mentioned that when Klay left the bench early. Again, imagine if James did the same in game 2. GS looks like a bunch of whiners last night. James got hit on almost every drive, he always does. There was a really bad one the refs missed and then Curry got brushed on a reverse layup and got the foul called. Being from Charlotte, I like Curry, but his wife has got to stop, she makes him look way worse. Cavs outplayed them, simple as that.

Abe Zapruder's son sent me a copy of the tape.  I'll fed ex it over.

Neutral, no dog in the fight, love both Curry and Lebron as players, didn't even watch the game last night since the US v Ecuador was on at the same time.

If the NBA doesn't suspend Curry for that everything people say about it is true.  No way can a player do that in 2016.  The only reason for someone to dodge a suspension is the NBA specifically wants to influence Game 7.

No chance of suspension. This is setting up to be an epic game 7.

Enjoy game 7 folks, another like this may not come around in a while. This isn't just a game 7 in a good series. It's a 73 win team against a team that hasn't won anything in like forever with one of the best players ever. This is going to be fun and I sure hope both teams bring it.

:goodposting:

Anyone who actually thinks this should go back and watch the second quarter.  Fairly lopsided in favor of GSW, and that was when the outcome was still in doubt. The questionable calls the other way in the fourth quarter came after the game was effectively over.

That would be a Cleveland-y finish.  Can almost picture LeBron in Game 7, starting his drive to the hoop down one with seven seconds left, and dribbling it off his foot and out of bounds.

I was surprised how many around here hadn't given up post game 4.  They're perfectly setup for a Cleveland-esque letdown now though.

In the NBA, the winner won because they played harder and the loser lost because of the refs.

Watched the replay a few more times.  I saw what you saw on the fan reaction.  However, I didn't catch a moment where Curry was looking over at the fan with any level of focus.

Like others have said, IMO Curry didn't have a target picked out for his mouthpiece, and intended to skip it off the court and into the dasher boards/scorers' table area.   Just made a lousy throw as part of his tantrum.

For comparison, there was a game in March against the Clippers where Curry got called for a foul he disagreed with, and while upset he took out his mouthpiece, and... skipped it off the floor and towards the scorers' table.

Just saw it again on ESPN from a different angle.  It doesn't look like Curry even noticed the fan before chucking the mouth piece.  He never even looked that way before letting it fly...just a heat of the moment action.  Combined with the quick post-throw apology to the fan, I am back in the "random" camp.

The Throw™ looked unintentional to me.  Doesn't make Curry look any less like a petulant child.  Great player but I'm so tired of watching his ####.

if they let kobme keep playing when he should have been in jail no way they are suspending steph curry bromigos take that to here is my daily rant on kobme bank bromigos

Tickets went on sale at 10 AM for the game 7 watch party at the Q.  I have not been able to purchase online...just get this message:

There are no tickets available that meet your request. Please select a different quantity or choose another price range.
There is no price range...all the same.  I have tried every combination of ticket quantities fro 1-6.  No luck.   Phone line just gets me a busy signal.

I didn't realize the extent of it until I saw them play live in Minny.  He pouted and sulked for 2 straight hours.

"Just a kid" from Akron is going to pull off one of the great comebacks in sports history.

He is playing on another level.

If Lebron pulls this off....he is up in the same air as Michael as far as all time greatness. The series he is having and the run of 3 titles in 6 straight trips gives me little doubt that next to Michael I have not seen with my own eyes anyone greater on the hardwood.

steph needs to get his wife under control. "I'm trying to win games and now I've got you to deal with...?"

and how is it traumatic to him if he doesn't even know the almost arrest happened until much later?
Love the "profiled" and "almost got arrested" lines.  He got stopped and they checked out his credentials.  That is it.  Dude still made it in to see the game on time.

What a whiny ##### family.

Yep. But gotta finish or else it will be the summer of hate.

If he pulls it off it's going to make for a great 30 for 30 doc for ESPN.  He's done everything and more to help that city win a title.  Sadly, I think he'll fall one game short again on Sunday.  Can't imagine GS losing 3 games in a row and 2 of them at home.  He'll need another herculean effort and another one from Irving.

At the end of the weekend, I'm betting another heart break for Cleveland sports fans.

Setting up to be an epic game 7. Since the 2-0 start, the past four games have been controlled for the most part by the Cavs. At GS is just going to make it that much tougher for the Cavs. Gonna be a fun one to watch. I'll have to DVR Game of Thrones and watch it after.
