2015 NBA Thread: I felt a great disturbance in the trolls, as if millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced. (1 Viewer)

If he pulls it off it's going to make for a great 30 for 30 doc for ESPN.  He's done everything and more to help that city win a title.  Sadly, I think he'll fall one game short again on Sunday.  Can't imagine GS losing 3 games in a row and 2 of them at home.  He'll need another herculean effort and another one from Irving.

At the end of the weekend, I'm betting another heart break for Cleveland sports fans.
It sucks that it's gonna feel like this, because they're fairly heavy dogs Sunday night.  2-1ish according to the books and that feels a little low to me.

They got back to back epic performances from one of their all-time great sports heroes in Games 5 and 6, and they won the biggest home game for any sports team in Cleveland in decades.  I know that's not enough when you've got a long title drought, but they should be savoring this.  I'd give my left nut for my city's greatest sports hero to put on a show at home like LeBron did last night to force a Game 7 against one of the best teams we've ever seen.

This is probably going to be the most hyped NBA game in history with the furor of social media, 24 hour news cycle and the characters involved plus all of the drama so far.

ESPN/ABC/Disney execs are wetting themselves over this.

$25k fines each for Curry and Kerr. I didn't think a suspension was warranted but I'm a little surprised the fines weren't higher given the really disappointing behavior on the sport's biggest stage.

They both wanted this, to fuel the fire and the crowd on Sun.

I hope the takeaway from Curry is to ditch the mouthguard all together so he isn't tempted to throw it again. Watching it constantly hang out of his mouth while he's shooting FTs is ####### disgusting.

Enjoy game 7 folks, another like this may not come around in a while. This isn't just a game 7 in a good series. It's a 73 win team against a team that hasn't won anything in like forever with one of the best players ever. This is going to be fun and I sure hope both teams bring it.
Average margin of victory in the series has been 20 pts, and there has been exactly 1 lead change in the 4th quarter through 6 games.  Yet, amazingly, the series has still been enjoyable to watch and full of intrigue.

:goodposting:

First two games sucked, but every game since then has had serious drama and excitement.

Game 3: After everyone had already called the series and said it would be a sweep, 5 games at most, the Cavs stunned everyone with a blowout effort.

Game 4: Warriors respond and seize control again, Draymond hits someone in the nuts for the 700th time (estimated), Curry finally has a Curry game in the Finals. Klay, Curry and Mrs. Curry talk #### about LeBron after the game.

Game 5: First half is incredible back and forth scoring, two forty-point scorers for Cavs, outcome very much in doubt at halfway point of 4th quarter.

Game 6: Don't need me to remind you of its awesomeness

Dayenu. And now a Game 7?

I said this last night, but this is probably the biggest Game 7 historically since '84. You have a team trying to become a historical great versus a LeBron led team where he's trying to cement his historical legacy as an All-Time great while throwing up absurd numbers in do-or-die games.  That just doesn't happen often.  This is one time where the hype is justified.

You gave me guff a bit ago about saying the cavs had solved curry and might reel off 4 in a row.  I'm a lot closer to right than you were. Just saying.
:lmao:  this is such a terrible post.  I'm fairly certain that missing Draymond Green at home for game 5 impacted this series going this far.  I can accurately predict a lot of things, but getting suspended in the finals is not one of them.

If Lebron wins this game.. he puts himself into the top 2-5 argument.

Either way - Curry has been exposed on the physical play.

lol at the use of "everyone"
It's a beautiful Friday afternoon, with a Father's day weekend packed with great sports just a few hours away, and yet you feel the need to complain about someone using the word "everyone" in a casual discussion of the awesomeness of a basketball series when they very obviously meant "most people."

Who hurt you?

I have a guess...

What's on the line Sunday is:

- top-5 status if not higher for Lebron

- GS going back to back and laying claim to a top-3 team all-time

- a million trolls being suddenly silenced at once  @JoeT

- oh yea and the first title for Cleveland in 50 years.

I can't think of an NBA game that ever had more on the line.

I missed the caveat where you said things like suspension, injury, and the MVP playing like #### invalidated your claims.

Nobody would have been going out on a limb thinking Dray would get suspended in the Finals this year.

It's totally unfair to expect someone to account for the remote, one in a million possibility that a player with a nutshot fetish who was third in the league in technical fouls during the regular season and who already had four technical fouls in the postseason might commit another technical foul.

A whole lot of puckered buttholes in here.

Just wait until next year when the Orlando dynasty begins. Won't see game 7s for a decade plus.

Just enjoy it.

No chance the Magic can get lucky with injuries for that long. The T-Wolves will take it to 7 at least a couple times.

Green knew the consequences of an additional act in the finals were enormous compared to before.  How does no one in this thread understand that difference?

What chance do you think Green does something to get suspended for game 7?  Unstable, in a hostile environment, feeling pressured to do too much after missing tonight with a team willing to throw Delly at his knees/nuts every play if they have to.  Honest opinion.  I think the chance is very, very high.

GS won't win game 7 without Green.
This was you, three days ago, suggesting that Green would be either unaware of the consequences of additional acts in the Finals or unable to adjust his behavior accordingly.

I'll say this, early on going to game 7, seems to be a lot of online writers declaring GS dead to rights. Too much doubt against these guys for my taste.

To me, it is kind of like Brexit.   Writers can write what they want. People can say what they want.  But would you really bet against THIS Golden State team at home in a do or die game, given what they went through vs. OKC?   I believe the line is still GS -4.5/-5 and rightfully so.

Yup (other than the Brexit analogy, which :whoosh: )

Everyone's still stuck on Game 6.  I bet by tomorrow a good bit of the talk will be about how home teams almost never lose Game 7s in the NBA playoffs.

Seems like a silly take by those writers to be honest. GS kept getting back into it last night after the horrible start. Not gonna start like that at Oracle.

Their health is the difference this time especially Iguodala.  He is such an important piece to guarding James.

Sorry, my day job is investing/trading/speculating on the financial markets, so I sometimes I forget the rest of the world doesn't see things through that lens.

If you haven't been paying attention to Brexit, the polls have recently been leaning towards the UK leaving the EU, even though the betting lines are still showing a 60/40 split in favor of staying.  :nerd:
