Wherever they don't need free throw shootingAndre Roberson is making himself a lot of money in this series. Where can he go that has a good offense, has the salary cap room/sign and trade assests and needs a wing?

If the Pacers can get 2 firsts for him, they should do it. He spent all season and playoffs whining about his teammates despite admitting to dogging it for most of the season and coming up really small what it mattered in the playoffs.Sure seems like this is the end of Paul George in Indiana unless he makes an All-NBA team which qualifies him for that monster contract. Anyone know when those teams are announced?
The Nuggets. If he leaves, that's where I think he ends up.Andre Roberson is making himself a lot of money in this series. Where can he go that has a good offense, has the salary cap room/sign and trade assests and needs a wing?
Shooter hooking his arm into the defender and wildly flinging the ball clearly counts.NBA needs to reevaluate what is and isn't a shooting foul, because this is atrocious

I like that. Jokic is a bad defender, but with Harris and Roberson on the wings it would make not having a rim protector a little easier. The Nuggets. If he leaves, that's where I think he ends up.
All they needed was that stuff the spray on the soccer players every time they get hurt and it magically cures everything and vuvuzelas!Yeah but the entire game is now dudes flopping and actively chasing shooting fouls rather then playing actual basketball.
That was one of the worst games I've seen in a very long time. Looked a lot like soccer out there.
Javale is a monster. Free McGeeThe real astonishing thing has been the emergence of McGee. They are +51 in his 39 minutes. Wow.
McCaw has been rising to the occasion as well. He had his best game as a Warrior tonight, at least that I can remember.
ETA: the biggest concern right now has to be the health of Steve Kerr. Rumor is he will not be back for this series. He must really be hurting.
I don't think he was serious. As someone who watches a ton of soccer, there is more "flopping" in basketball than soccer. There aren't nearly as many scoring chances in soccer (obviously) but even as a percentage I still think there is more flopping in basketball (maybe just the NBA, I dont watch a lot of bball outside of the NBA).Yeah but the entire game is now dudes flopping and actively chasing shooting fouls rather then playing actual basketball.

Publicly complaining about not getting the final shot in game one and then barely hitting the backboard at the end of game four was pretty special. If the Pacers can get 2 firsts for him, they should do it. He spent all season and playoffs whining about his teammates despite admitting to dogging it for most of the season and coming up really small what it mattered in the playoffs.
Joe Johnson is in a similar zone right now, albeit taking much more time to get to the bucket. The General said:Thomas cannot be stopped at the moment. Driving to the basket at will.

Apparently they have changed this and it will be announced several days before the draft. Some time after the draft, according to what Nate Duncan mentioned on the podcast the other day. They were saying that they realized that recently, which could make the draft interesting/difficult, not having the full scope of what they can/will do with George.
All mine. Do they match what someone else had?I like these across the board except maybe with Gobert. Jazz are only one spot behind the Warriors in defensive efficiency (3rd and 2nd), so I don't see how team performance can separate the two. But I don't watch nearly enough of either team to make an informed decision. All I know if I haven't seen someone change the game like Gobert does every time he's on the floor. I'd be curious to see on/off defensive numbers for each guy.
Did you cut and paste these from somewhere or are they yours?
Agreed. The defenders arm down/swipe up and grab it in the elbow/throw up a non-shot shot to draw a foul has taken on a life of it's own. It seems especially egregious because it results in 3 shots, gets teams in the penalty more often, slows the game down, and generally results in poor game flow. It just creates an incentive for offensive players to pull the equivalent of the defensive flop.NBA needs to reevaluate what is and isn't a shooting foul, because this is atrocious
To the chasing fouls point, I'd advocate the restricted zone on defense be moved out another foot/foot and a half. The current zone results in defensive players undercutting offensive players too often. Put it out another ~15 inches or so and the likelihood of that dangerous bang-bang play taking place with an offensive player in the air is almost eliminated.Yeah but the entire game is now dudes flopping and actively chasing shooting fouls rather then playing actual basketball.

Ideally Denver could add a 4 that could be a rim protector on defense and stretch the court on offense. With Jokic's passing ability opening up lanes on offense a player that won't clog it up would keep the Nuggets offense among the league's best. More importantly, they need that 4 to be a defensive force that can clean up for a myriad of problems the roster currently shows on that end of the floor (and will likely be there as long as Jokic is the 5).I like that. Jokic is a bad defender, but with Harris and Roberson on the wings it would make not having a rim protector a little easier.
Bad match-up for the Bulls. IT is going to get his even against good defenders, but Chicago just doesn't have a guard that can consistently check his drives. I'd like Jimmy Butler and his length against Thomas, but then Butler would be gassed in the 4th when they've leaned on his shot making to close games. May have to do it anyway and hope playoff vet DWade and the no longer comatose Mirotic can help close it out. Would help if Hoiberg would keep Lopez on the court as well. The Celts can't keep him off the boards and The Mayor is doing Boston a solid taking him off the court. The General said:Thomas cannot be stopped at the moment. Driving to the basket at will.
Iso Joe has really been an issue for the Clippers in the series. Snyder has done a nice job keeping shooters around Johnson when he likes the match-up. Also impressed with Quin's rotations including Joe Ingles. Ingles consistently makes good decisions with the ball and has even shown an ability to slightly disrupt Chris Paul's rhythm on D.Joe Johnson is in a similar zone right now, albeit taking much more time to get to the bucket.
No, was just curious. All mine. Do they match what someone else had?
I talked about this a month or so ago, but there are very few stretch fours that can also play defense. Ibaka and Millsap are available this offseason, but both area little old and will ask for a lot of money. James Johnson had an incredible year and could probably be had on a reasonable contract (3/36?) but I think his shooting was a mirage and I don't particularly trust a career year at 30. Other than that you are looking at guys that aren't likely to be traded (Green, Aldridge, Porzingas, Davis). I'm hopeful they will chase Millsap and Roberson and let Gallo and Plumlee walk.Ideally Denver could add a 4 that could be a rim protector on defense and stretch the court on offense. Trust in Johnson. The only difference this year is that he played under a competent coach who didn't bench after a single mistake.I talked about this a month or so ago, but there are very few stretch fours that can also play defense. They'll match whatever the highest bidder offers. Are the wizards going to max out Porter?
Full disclaimer here--I'm a big Indiana Pacers fan--so my opinion might be biased. While I think that George is a great player--I do think that he had a terrible season. First of all--he played very pedestrian like (up to his standards) the first 1/3-1/2 the season. The Pacers schedule was very easy to start the season and very difficult to end the season--and George did not turn his game on early enough in the season. The Pacers barely made the playoffs this year--they literally had to win their last game to clench a playoff spot--when they easily had enough talent to be a top 5 seed. That was horribly frustrating.Sure seems like this is the end of Paul George in Indiana unless he makes an All-NBA team which qualifies him for that monster contract. Anyone know when those teams are announced?
Allan Crabbe got 4/75 last year at the same age with a lower salary cap. The Wizards might be able to talk him into take a slight discount, but they'll end up paying him whatever he wants. Are the wizards going to max out Porter?
Doing so will probably send them into the tax and since the beginning of March, Porter hasn't been very good. I think I would re-sign him in Washington's shoes but it would be defensible to let him walk when someone gives him a max offer sheet. They'll match whatever the highest bidder offers.
Realistically where else would they spend their money?
Yeah, the Wiz have to keep their core together during Wall's prime. They likely won't be good enough to seriously contend for a title unless they get rid of Grunfeld and bring in someone who can work a miracle with the bench, and even then probably not. But they can't roll the dice on free agency and get burned again. Gotta roll with Wall-Beal-Porter-Kieff and hope for the best with Mahinmi/Gortat and around the margins.Doing so will probably send them into the tax and since the beginning of March, Porter hasn't been very good. I'll be at the game tomorrow.
WHY ARE THEY STARTING AT 6PM?????????????

I agree with this, Johnson showed spurts of being really good and then would play 8 minutes for next the 4 games. Same thing that happens to Jonas, but some how Carroll always starts. Johnson won't be had for 3 - 36. Tobias Harris got 15 million a year 2 years ago. 5 for 80 is the floor.Trust in Johnson. The only difference this year is that he played under a competent coach who didn't bench after a single mistake.
It's got to be mental now. He's had a great series (for him) but his FTs are ridiculous. Even if he hit his 50% season avg. it would have made a huge difference in the last 3 games.I don't watch many Thunder games. Is Andre Roberson shooting his FTs blindfolded? I knew he was bad but 2-for-17 hardly seems possible
Kanter, Gibson, Cole, Singler? It's got to be mental now. He's had a great series (for him) but his FTs are ridiculous. Even if he hit his 50% season avg. it would have made a huge difference in the last 3 games.
The whole Thunder team has been poor at the line. I think that's a result of being so young. Only Westbrook, Adams, and Roberson really have playoff experience.
I forgot Gibson. Kanter has been a liability but I guess he does have playoff experience. The others haven't been factors.Kanter, Gibson, Cole, Singler?
If he gets that kind of money for 5 years, the whole management staff should be fired.I agree with this, Johnson showed spurts of being really good and then would play 8 minutes for next the 4 games. He might only get 4 years, but it will average 16 million or more a year.5/80 isn't happening. Guessing more like 3/40-50.
Kawhi is 45/46.2/19 for Roberson at the line. That's absolutely unbelievable.
I'm really happy for the guy. He's going to have some options this off-season.I realize that the Warriors were saving JaVale McGee for the later rounds, but his 4-3-3 line over 9 minutes translates to a triple double.
Free McGee!
