2016 Chicago Bears Thread (2 Viewers)

Hmmm and many thought that the McCasky stooges and Phillips were somehow not involved with decisions. This my friends is still the core issue. They cannot help themselves. It's who they are. They have no clue how to build a championship team let alone a team that can at least compete for half a season. To think, the Bears had Marshall, Forte and Bennett but they are gone. To think that they had Olsen. Gase is gone. Add it up and what is left is this miserable pile of a football team. I get that they had to let these guys go for one reason or another. I get that they are gone but they have done very little to next to nothing to replace these talents. Cutler is the leader of the team. Injuries destroyed any chance that the defense had to be a potential force. Now, the stench. Only way to get change is to stop going to the games. Empty seats force change but the fan base flocks to see this crap show as if they are the Patriots. Speaking of the Patriots, they keep reloading. Never seem to miss a beat. It starts with management and the coaching staff. A winning attitude. Same with Pittsburgh, GB, Denver... The losers here are the fans but the real losers are the owners.

Likely doesn't have much left, but absolutely a quality dude. Wish there were more Joique Bell's in the league. Generous, humble, upbeat, works his butt off, and has fun doing it.

I normally defend that the McCasky's have tried to change the way they are doing things and have been running the team better lately.  However, if this is true, that's a huge issue.  Can't be having a coach-GM power struggle, there needs to be a clear chain of command, and if the GM is the top Football Mind in the building he needs to have control of all football decisions.

Unacceptable.

 
If Fox keeps starting Hoyer when Cutler comes back,  he should be fired after the season,  no questions asked.  You don't back up your qb all off-season and then start doubting him in press and bench him after getting hurt a game and a half in.  Let's really hope Fox doesn't do this. Loggains came out this week to give Cutler a big vote of confidence. 

 
Was thinking about this yesterday and my blood was boiling. How the hell has this organization not invested in a young early round QB the last 3-4 years knowing that Cutler is an issue. Absolute height of incompetence. 

 
This game personifies the Bears as a team.  Even in a game where the other team is playing badly and the Bears are controlling the ball,  the Bears are still only up 4. This is just a ####ty poorly coached team. 

 
Appears to have been a pitiful game but Bears won.  Lot of empty seats in the stadium. Pretty uninspiring performance and tried to give the game away  but a win a.  Not convinced they will go anywhere,  though.  Ugly

 
Defense kept Stafford & co. from scoring a TD, but it felt like a loss after giving up that silly punt return score.  Too many dumb penalties, still giving up third and longs, not taking the easy points, Barth is garbage.

Horrible block in back not called.  Shouldn't have been a return TD.  But the team in general still stinks.  Beat another terrible team.  Meaningless 

 
Yeah, call me pessimistic, but this team needs the number one or two pick in the upcoming draft, where they hopefully luck into a franchise QB. But of course, they will win a few more meaningless games and limp to 6-10 and draft a project who may or may not help the team over the next decade. 

Sorry, but I'm done with this crap product until I see something to get excited about. Right now I see a team with defense that will take at least three years to rebuild and an offense manned by average QBs at best. What means this??? Check back in May 2017...

 
I'm with you.  It's garbage.   If Fox decides to stick with Hoyer when Cutler gets healthy,  I won't watch another game this year.  First time I've ever gotten to that point. 

 
TEN-who is tied with CHI for worst O in NFL, scored 16 against DET. So Hoyer led a CHI offense that performed like worst in NFL. WHEE!

Exactly, the entire point of having to watch this ####ty team is that hopefully we are building a young team for the future.  I don't want to be overdramatic, but we are nearing career killing point here.  Going into year 3 with 4 starts and 2 major rehabs under his belt, even if he was considered an "NFL ready WR" coming out of college that would be rough to overcome.  It's darn near start over again for a 3rd rookie season.

When the catch rate on those targets is......

hovering around 53%, which is the 63rd best among receivers averaging at least 4 targets per game

And resulting in under 5.2 yards per target, which is 74th among that same group of at least 4 targets per game

that bearing is probably a good one.

No it doesn't. It has a bearing on his development and our entertainment but this season was basically just the next step in a rebuild. Not many fans honestly believed this was a playoff team going into the season and the ones that did saw the light once all the injuries happened.

Again,  I'm not even considering playoffs but losing your most targeted receiver has an effect on the team.  Crazy to think it doesn't.

And for good reason.  Quite a few of us were annoyed by this pick for a reason.  I hope Pace can turn it around but he's shown little evidence to show he can.  So disappointing 

 
Hoyer had a nice game, but should've had an easy TD to Jefferey on the left side on that 4th down.

Ignored Jeffrey most of game when could've owned Colts.  Colts are terrible.  Bears are worse.  Hoyer even worse.  Dude is freaking pitiful.
