@QuizGuy66: How many have the Brady/Bell/Gordon combo?  Or the different variations of those 3 suspended players.

Thanks!

Loving my Lafell pick (atleast before any snaps!)

lol 21 QB guy did not read the rules 100%

bless the kicker guy every year !

20 defence guy, I hope you make it too the end just so we can see these again!

Big early cuts this year! Might not be the year of the suspended player unlike previous years where nothing worries anyone till week 6!

good luck all let the torment begin and can't wait for the first $28+ guy to go down early!

i also want a shout out for anyone who survives a week with no QB due to bye and injury!

QB - Blake Bortles - JAX/5 - $17
QB - Derek Carr - OAK/10 - $13
QB - Brock Osweiler - HOU/9 - $8
RB - LeVeon Bell - PIT/8 - $27
RB - LeSean McCoy - BUF/10 - $24
RB - Melvin Gordon - SD/11 - $14
RB - T.J. Yeldon - JAX/5 - $14
RB - Christine Michael - SEA/5 - $4
WR - Michael Crabtree - OAK/10 - $15
WR - Kevin White - CHI/9 - $14
WR - Josh Gordon - CLE/13 - $13
WR - Marvin Jones - DET/10 - $12
WR - Will Fuller - HOU/9 - $6
WR - Devin Funchess - CAR/7 - $6
WR - Mike Wallace - BAL/8 - $5
WR - Jamison Crowder - WAS/9 - $5
WR - Andre Johnson - TEN/13 - $3
TE - Jimmy Graham - SEA/5 - $10
TE - Martellus Bennett - NE/9 - $9
TE - Jesse James - PIT/8 - $2
PK - Matt Prater - DET/10 - $3
PK - Jason Myers - JAX/5 - $3
PK - Roberto Aguayo - TB/6 - $3
PK - Nick Folk - NYJ/11 - $2
TD - Carolina Panthers - CAR/7 - $7
TD - Kansas City Chiefs - KC/5 - $6
TD - Houston Texans - HOU/9 - $5

I made it through to the end last year but that’s with barely making the cut most weeks it seemed. I probably should have picked a larger roster (I’m at 21), but here’s what I ended up with…

QB – Kirk Cousins - WAS/9 - $13

QB – Matthew Stafford - DET/10 - $12

Two solid QB’s. I really wanted a third, but cheapest one of interest to me was RGIII and couldn’t fit him in.

RB - LeVeon Bell - PIT/8 - $27

RB – LeSean McCoy – BUF/10 - $24

RB – DeMarco Murray – TEN/13 - $15

RB – Jeremy Hill – CIN/9 - $15

RB - Derrick Henry - TEN/13 - $7

Just hoping I can make it through the first 3 weeks with no Bell. I wanted to spread out the bye weeks within each position. I’m unsure about the Murray/Henry combo, but Tennessee seems like they’ll run a ton.

WR – Amari Cooper – OAK/10 - $21

WR – Eric Decker – NYJ/11 - $17

WR – Michael Floyd – ARI/9 - $15

WR – Marvin Jones – DET/10 - $12

WR – Sterling Shepard – NYG/8 - $11

WR - Devin Funchess - CAR/7 - $6

Again tried to spread out the byes. Week 10 could be tough (if I make it that far), but hopefully I have enough firepower elsewhere. I’m sure most of these guys except for maybe Decker are highly owned.

TE – Jordan Reed – WAS/9 - $22

TE – Antonio Gates – SD/11 - $11

TE – Vance Mcdonald – SF/8 - $6

This may be the only position I didn’t really change. I wanted a big TE (Reed) and I think Gates and Mcdonald can both be solid options.

PK - Ryan Succop - TEN/13 - $2

PK - Andrew Franks - MIA/8 - $2

PK - Nick Folk - NYJ/11 - $2

Cheapies

TD – Houston Texans – HOU/9

TD – Oakland Raiders – OAK/10

Would have liked one more defense, but still think these are two pretty good ones

Pos    Player    Team    Price    FPts
QB    Tom Brady    NE    $15    0.00
QB    Philip Rivers    SD    $14    0.00

As others have mentioned, Brady is a good value. I like Rivers schedule while Brady is off, and overall I think he'll have a good year, assuming his WR don't get hurt again. I took 3 QB last year and never used one of them.

RB    Todd Gurley    LA    $32    0.00
RB    Ezekiel Elliott    DAL    $29    0.00
RB    LeGarrette Blount    NE    $10    0.00
RB    Spencer Ware    KC    $8    0.00
RB    Christine Michael    SEA    $4    0.00
RB    Alfred Morris    DAL    $3    0.00

I haven't seen many entries with Gurley. That suprises me, but perhaps I'm higher on him than most. I like Ezekiel just as much without Romo as I did with him. Grabbed Morris as cheap insurance, and he has looked good in preseason. Included Ware and Michael for the same reasons as others. Took a flyer on Blount as I'm not sure what White and Lewis roles will be once Lewis returns, and they cut Gaffney already.

WR    Mike Evans    TB    $24    0.00
WR    Keenan Allen    SD    $23    0.00
WR    Michael Floyd    ARI    $15    0.00
WR    Josh Gordon    CLE    $13    0.00
WR    Marvin Jones    DET    $12    0.00
WR    Will Fuller    HOU    $6    0.00
WR    Devin Funchess    CAR    $6    0.00

Believe Evans TDs will go back up this year. Allen is huge if he stays healthy. Took Floyd for the same reasons as another recent poster (Fitz is old, and Brown has concussion issues again). Not worried about early cut lines so felt Gordon gamble will pay off. Jones is a good value. Fuller and Funchess round out the WR.

TE    Martellus Bennett    NE    $9    0.00
TE    Jared Cook    GB    $8    0.00
TE    Virgil Green    DEN    $4    0.00
TE    Jesse James    PIT    $2    0.00

Maybe spread the TE $$ too thin, as most everyone will have some combo of the 4 above for the same reasons they are on my roster.
PK    Caleb Sturgis    PHI    $3    0.00
PK    Matt Prater    DET    $3    0.00

Meh, I've taken 3 or even 4 kickers before, and it never seemed to make a difference.

DST    Houston Texans    HOU    $5    0.00
DST    Tennessee Titans    TEN    $2    0.00

I like Houston's D at this price point, and I feel like the Titans will be better overall this year. Rostering 3 or 4 DEF in the past didn't help me here either.

OH no.  Was actually doing work this morning and didnt realize I missed the deadline for final roster submissions.

I have a Qb combo of Luck/Wentz.  Great...

QB - Drew Brees - NO/5 - $22
QB - Matthew Stafford - DET/10 - $12

Really like Brees this year and didn't mind paying a bit for him. Stafford could put up Top 10 numbers again this year and seemed like great value.

RB - Adrian Peterson - MIN/6 - $28
RB - Eddie Lacy - GB/4 - $25
RB - Isaiah Crowell - CLE/13 - $10
RB - Spencer Ware - KC/5 - $8
RB - Derrick Henry - TEN/13 - $7
RB - Christine Michael - SEA/5 - $4

Wasn't really a fan of RBs that weren't at the top of the list. Figure the Vikings will lean heavily on Peterson with their QB situation. Really like Lacy to bounce back this year and have a good season. With it being his contract year, he certainly has plenty of motivation. Crowell seemed like good value for a RB on a Hue Jackson offense. He has RB2 potential for sure. Ware will have value for as long as it takes Charles to get to full speed and then maybe even once Charles is all the way back. Henry could have a nice year even without an injury to Murray since they plan to run a ton. Michael for $4 with the possibility of his role expanding was just too good to pass up.

WR - Odell Beckham Jr - NYG/8 - $33
WR - Keenan Allen - SD/11 - $23
WR - Michael Floyd - ARI/9 - $15
WR - Marvin Jones - DET/10 - $12
WR - Devin Funchess - CAR/7 - $6

Would have liked to add more WRs, but this seems like a solid group here. Beckham should be a top 2 or 3 WR. As long as Allen is healthy, he'll be a target monster for Rivers. I like Floyd this year with Brown already banged up and Fitzgerald a year older. Jones could lead the team in targets and was a good price. Maybe a flier on Funchess, but it sounds like he's going to be involved in the passing game a bunch this year.

TE - Martellus Bennett - NE/9 - $9
TE - Clive Walford - OAK/10 - $6
TE - Vance McDonald - SF/8 - $6
TE - Virgil Green - DEN/11 - $4

Went with the shotgun approach here. I do like Bennett this year and even more so if Gronk were to miss time. The rest are dart throws and hoping at least 1 of those 3 breaks out. I do like McDonald the most of the group just because of Chip's history with TEs.

PK - Graham Gano - CAR/7 - $6
PK - Dustin Hopkins - WAS/9 - $3
TD - Seattle Seahawks - SEA/5 - $7
TD - Washington Redskins - WAS/9 - $4

Tried to spend as little as possible here, while still getting decent options.

Tom Brady $15
Jameis Winston $14

-------------------------------

Melvin Gordon $14
Isaiah Crowell $10
LeGarrette Blount $10
Spencer Ware $8
Kenneth Dixon $8
Derrick Henry $7
Christine Michael $4

----------------------------

Allen Robinson $28
Mike Evans $24
Doug Baldwin $19
Josh Gordon $13
Marvin Jones $12
Travis Benjamin $11
Devin Funchess $6

Rob Gronkowski $30
Vance McDonald $6
Jesse James $2

Ryan Succop $2

Dallas Cowboys $3
Tennessee Titans $2

I knew this was going to happen. I like my what if team better than my real team doh! Thanks Iggy.

For the record, that page is linked to your account, so if someone else clicks it they're not seeing your What If roster, they're seeing theirs (or a blank one if they haven't created their own).  There's no way (currently) to share your What If roster with others with a link, you'd just have to copy and paste it here if you wanted to.

Also a reminder to all that if you're a glutton for punishment and do want to put in a What If? roster on my site, do it by Monday night.  When the weekly update runs Tuesday morning I'm going to lock down the submissions.

Well that just shows how low tech I am. This is my what if it was my first try and now I kind of wish I stuck with it.

Russell Wilson  - 22 - SEA/5

Tyrod Taylor  - 11 - BUF/10

Carson Wentz  - 6 - PHI/4

Wilson and Taylor are just so efficient. I like their chances to provide a strong floor every week with big upside. Wentz is a total flier.

Giovani Bernard  - 18 - CIN/9

Charles Sims  - 12 - TB/6

Tevin Coleman  - 9 - ATL/11

Derrick Henry  - 7 - TEN/13

Cameron Artis-Payne  - 4 - CAR/7

Christine Michael  - 4 - SEA/5

Bernard and Sims for the PPR. The rest of the guys I expect to get work even if they aren't starters and much more if an injury occurs ahead of them.

Odell Beckham Jr - 33 - NYG/8

Amari Cooper  - 21 - OAK/10

Demaryius Thomas  - 21 - DEN/11

Willie Snead  - 14 - NO/5

Devin Funchess  - 6 - CAR/7

Chris Conley  - 3 - KC/5

I'm the only submission with OBJ/Cooper/DT. That feels good. Snead should fill in the gaps when the studs are off. Love Funchess and Conley has cheap high upside plays.

Zach Ertz  - 18 - PHI/4

Vance McDonald  - 6 - SF/8

Larry Donnell  - 5 - NYG/8

Luke Willson  - 4 - SEA/5

I struggled with spending so much on Ertz, but if he pans out, it'll be huge. Feel like a lot of people are sleeping on Donnell.

Graham Gano  - 6 - CAR/7

Cairo Santos  - 5 - KC/5

Two entrenched kickers on strong teams that should be competing in every game.

Arizona Cardinals  - 7 - AZ/9

Kansas City Chiefs - 6 - KC/5

Tennessee Titans  - 2 - TEN/13

Cards for big plays. Chiefs for stability. Titans for upside.

OK, my FBG Contest site should now be fully operational with rosters locked and loaded: http://o.ffense.com/fbg35k/

Please take a moment to check out your team and let me know if anything looks off.  If you had an account from prior years it should still work, so you can link entries to your account, etc.

And while we're waiting for kickoff, poke around the site, check out some ownership stats, add a What If? roster, do some queries, whatever.  I think everything's good to go but I've been pretty busy so I rushed through the update this season so it wouldn't surprise me if something got broken.  Definitely let me know if you find any issues.
I changed my name and now i cant find my number to enter into the website how do i fix this?

On the contest page where I can see my team and the weekly results, Derrick Henry shows 'out?' for week 2 and all 3 of my PKs show the same for all weeks except week 1.  Does anyone know why?

Yea same thing for me on PKs. You think they are trying to tell us something?

Early iterations were Brady / Taylor / RGIII.  I abandoned this because of Brady's playoff schedule.  I believe Flacco will outscore Stafford and Taylor, and that Osweiler is the best sub $10 investment.  Both are probably relatively rare, versus Taylor, Stafford, RGIII, etc. who I assumed would be more popular.

found it thanks for the help and for all the work you do to help make this contest so great!

Tom Brady $15
Philip Rivers $14
Matthew Stafford $12
Like many, Brady to good to pass on and until week 5 these 2 guys should be able to handle.

Melvin Gordon $14
Arian Foster $12
Spencer Ware $8
Kenneth Dixon $8
Derrick Henry $7
Christine Michael $4
Alfred Morris $3
Not sure about this group but did not want to spend big money chasing one of the studs to have him go down. Went cheap w/upside

Antonio Brown $35
Keenan Allen $23
Michael Floyd $15
Marvin Jones $12
Anquan Boldin $6
Chris Hogan $5
Kenny Stills $4
Really like my WR's. Had to have my boy AB, feel Floyd will be the man this year and at that price! Hogan and Boldin will get theirs

Gary Barnidge $12
Jared Cook $8
Clive Walford $6
Vance McDonald $6
Same w/ my TE's....feel very good value and a 1.5 per reception one if not two any given week

Matt Prater $3
Nick Novak $3
Josh Lambo $3
Just went with 3 K's I felt were cheap and good offensive teams

Houston Texans $5
Miami Dolphins $4
Dallas Cowboys $3

Like Houston, hoping Miami can contribute here and there.

Doug Baldwin ($19) is only on 657 teams.

Joe Flacco ($10) is only on 786 teams.

Eli Rogers ($4) is only on 1005 teams.

These stats surprise me.

Usually go with 26-28, went small ball this year. Had 22 for a long time and then added a 3rd QB yesterday for 23. Finished 102 last year. Need a better result this year. And no Whammys!

QB:

Blake Bortles - JAX - 5 - $17
Jameis Winston - TB - 6 - $14
Paxton Lynch - DEN - 11 - $6

I call this the Young Guns approach. Had Luck and Winston for the longest time. Decided I wanted 3 so switched Luck's $23 for Bortles and Lynch. Like Bortles and WInston this year. And I think Lynch looked good in pre-season and hope he's starting soon. Figured that Brady and Stafford would be popular and decided to zig here.

RB:

David Johnson - ARI - 9 - $30
CJ Anderson - DEN - 11 - $22
Spencer Ware - KC - 5 - $8
Alfred Morris - DAL - 7 - $3

Love Johnson and Anderson this year. Going all in on them. Ware was a late switch from DeAndre Washington (with some PK downgrades) and should get some work even when JC is back. Morris seems like a fantastic backup behind that OL. 4 is not very many. This small roster is new to me and I am appropriately scared. Popularity wise, Ware and Morris should be there. Declined on CMIke because there are only so many times I can be kicked in the balls.

WR:

Jordy Nelson - GB - 4 - $29
Allen Robinson - JAX - 5 - $28
Keenan Allen - SD - 11 - $23
Marvin Jones - DET - 10 - $12
Devin Funchess - CAR - 7 - $6
Kenny Stills - MIA - 8 - $4

My core group. Love Nelson if he's back. Risk there, but I figured on low ownership. Love ARob and don't think we'll see a big regression. Allen is a stud and will show it this season. Marvin Jones is better than Tate and got more popular than I wanted as the contest closed. Living in CLT, I've been hearing lots of whispers about Funchess being better than Benjamin. We'll see if that happens. Stills seems like a great cheap option.

TE:

Zach Ertz - PHI - 4 - $18
Martellus Bennett - NE - 9 - $9
Cameron Brate - TB - 6 - $5
Jesse James - PIT - 8 - $2

They say you shouldn't pick anyone on the Eagles offense this year. I say that I'm taking Ertz (and praying to the fantasy gods). Bennett is a must. Decided to zig again and take Brate over Virgil Green. But then added the Outlaw for commonality and a second Nittany Lion.

PK:

Andrew Franks - MIA - 8 - $2
Nick Folk - NYJ - 11 - $2
Ryan Succop - TEN - 13 - $2

3 cheap as hell kickers. That's it. Had a little more money here but spent it upgrading to Ware. I didn't take dome guys or high powered offense guys. Just ####.

DEF:

Detroit - DET - 10 - $3
San Francisco - SF - 8 - $3
Tennessee - TEN - 13 - $2

Spent slightly more here and tried to get the best $3 and $2 defenses I could get, but...

At least they have different Bye weeks

So that's my rooster. Have $53 on bye in weeks 4 and 11. Yikes. But I can get through that and bring home the trophy. If no one gets hurt and the season goes exactly as I think it will.

What could go wrong?

The link for the list of players and their % owned is not working for me.  The querier link is working fine.  Anyone else having this issue or is it just me?

A little bit on the strategy, be that as it may. As I said, I wanted to large roster because I saw an abundance of value picks. You have to balance a load of value guys though with some probably consistent high scorers. I tried, like all of you to establish a solid foundation of players that I expect to have solid floors and add a lot of guys that were value picks, based on cost per production. Another reason that I like to go large roster is you typically can continue to advance with an injury or three if you hit on scorers often enough. In this contest, I am a firm believer in NOT putting a lot of eggs in a single basket.

Always enjoy the banter in here and look forward to checking in often during the season.

QB:   3 @ $27 total - Winston (6), Griffin (13) and Wentz (4) - I came into the off-season with low regard to Winston and his play and demeanor on the field have swayed me. I agree with many that the Tampa Bay offense expands greatly this year. I can still remember Griffin's rookie season and am hoping that he is a changed quarterback in Cleveland. He has a plethora of weapons and should be an excellent best ball guy, which is the essence of this contest. Wentz was highly regarded before the NFL draft and he should get to play all season so he's a guy on the lower end of the price scale with opportunity.

RB:   8 @ $72 total - McCoy (10), J. Hill (9), Ware (5), D. Henry (13), Booker (11), Jms White (9), C. Michael (5) and Morris (7) - A couple of guys that should get a lot of carries and a boatload of players that might get a chance. Mostly spread out bye weeks and fairly low cost for a lot of darts.

WR:   10 @ $97 total - Mike Evans (6), D. Thomas (11), Shepard (8), M. Thomas (5), Ted Ginn (7), W. Fuller (9), Funchess (7), K. Kearse (5), Q. Patton (8) and Stills (8) - love the scatter shot plan for wide receivers in best ball leagues. Several of these guys are deep targets and several are on high volume passing attacks. Hoping that the big crew does an excellent job of brother-in-lawing. I expect Evans and D. Thomas to out-produce draft position (cost) and I have another eight guys to post scores. Hoping for a lot of high flex scores from this group.

TE:   4 @ $31 total - I never go as deep at tight end as I plan in the beginning. I had Ertz forever, but swapped him close to the end for Walker when I had a fairly low cost outlay in week 13. Love the Mariota -Walker connection. I value Bennett in New England even if Gronk plays all 16 and really few folks expect Gronk to play all 16. Green and James are low cost starters that could have big weeks occasionally.

PK:   3 @ $9 total - went with a little more costly guys this year. I am usually a three $2 PK guy, but grabbed three at $3 each this year. Sturgis (4), Prater (10) and Aguayo.

TD:   only 2 @ $14 - Changed my strategy here as well. I usually go three bottom cost teams, but increased the cost and went with only two, Arizona nd Seattle. Hoping for a lot of special team touchdowns and turnovers from these two teams.

Money tied up in Bye Weeks:

4:   $9

5:   $33

6:   $41 - really wanted Doug Martin, but he had to go to lower my week 6 $ with only two teams on bye

7:   $15

8:   $22

9:   $42

10:   $24

11:   $31

13:   $33

Good Luck to all and hope to be able to hang around a long while and enjoy the conversation here.

I can still remember Griffin's rookie season and am hoping that he is a changed quarterback in Cleveland. He has a plethora of weapons and should be an excellent best ball guy, which is the essence of this contest.
Lots of people down on Griffin. I watched every snap of his rookie season, and you know what I remember most? Tons of dropped balls. Griffin put up good numbers despite a mediocre receiver corps. LOVE Griffin in best ball this year.

I waited until yesterday to start the contest. That way, I could just choose the bargains and  avoid getting attached to players. Here is my team:

QB - Eli Manning - NYG/8 - $16QB - Kirk Cousins - WAS/9 - $13

Two QBs are enough. I like the upside of both of these. Eli was top 5 last year and Cousins was top 3 the 2nd half of the season. Got them both for the cost of Cam.

RB - David Johnson - ARI/9 - $30RB - Ezekiel Elliott - DAL/7 - $29RB - Arian Foster - MIA/8 - $12RB - Derrick Henry - TEN/13 - $7RB - James White - NE/9 - $5RB - Christine Michael - SEA/5 - $4RB - Alfred Morris - DAL/7 - $3

Lots of bargains here. Love the combo of Zeke and Morris. Barring catastrophic injury, I'm guaranteed a Dallas RB all year. I'm worried a little about Foster getting through the year but he has looked good compared to the other RBs in Miami. Michael, White and Henry appear to be bargains. Johnson is just an anchor and a stud.

WR - Jordy Nelson - GB/4 - $29WR - Allen Robinson - JAX/5 - $28WR - Michael Crabtree - OAK/10 - $15WR - Devin Funchess - CAR/7 - $6WR - Chris Hogan - NE/9 - $5

Thin here but I only need two. I'll count on my flex players coming from elsewhere. A little worried about Jordy but I should be able to get through the early weeks while he is on a snap count. Hogan and Funchess appear to be bargains.

TE - Jared Cook - GB/4 - $8TE - Clive Walford - OAK/10 - $6TE - Vance McDonald - SF/8 - $6TE - Crockett Gillmore - BAL/8 - $3

All low cost options here and for the total price of a top TE. One should produce each week.

PK - Justin Tucker - BAL/8 - $6PK - Mason Crosby - GB/4 - $6PK - Dustin Hopkins - WAS/9 - $3

With 3, I should have decent production at kicker.

TD - Cincinnati Bengals - CIN/9 - $5TD - Jacksonville Jaguars - JAX/5 - $5

The best part about defenses is that you can't lose them to injury. Two should be enough.
