No.

Zach Lowe said today on Simmons podcast that he offhandedly mentioned that there are some issues in Minnesota with Thibs and others, and that somehow it's been turned into a big story.  He also said no way the Wolves trade him.
sadly, he also totally debunked the story about Thibs throwing the computer.

Cavs also had 19 turnovers to Boston's 10 despite the teams being basically equal in both turnovers and opponent's turnovers in the regular season.

We gonna normalize that too, or is this a "one statistical anomaly only" type analysis?
Boston had like 8-10 points at the end of the game when it was basically over as well, so we can probably throw out the 4th Q point comparison as well

you heard wrong bud. Obviously forgot about the magician Ainge is. Boston will get a future 1st and KAT for Baynes.

I didn’t say they should have won, just that they could have had a real chance to win (say down by 1-2 buckets at end of game).

I personally look look at missed dunks and layups different than turnovers, maybe you don’t? Maybe the other equivalent would be a team going 3 for 18 from the foul line. If that team lost by 10 points or so it’s not crazy to think they could have had a shot to win it with better free throw shooting

brohans here is a hot take my sources are reporting that this labrohan cat is pretty good at playing the ole bball take that to the bank brohans

I actually think they're pretty similar.  Combination of unforced errors and defensive effort. It's not like all those missed dunks and layups were totally uncontested. I didn't watch that much of the game (go Caps!) but when I was watching I saw, for example, Kyle Korver block two bunnies. That wasn't just bum luck or a crazy anomaly; that was a Cavs player making a better play than a Celtics player, no different than any other play that helps one team and hurts the other. And my guess would be that some of the missed layups/dunks were a result of Celtics players hearing the footsteps of perhaps the greatest chasedown shot blocker in basketball history.

FT shooting percentage is actually the one variable I think you can isolate and say that certain game was an anomaly and a particularly good or bad night in this one area won or lost a game for a team, because it's the only one that has nothing to do with the opponent.  Everything else is more complicated, and you can't just isolate one anomaly and ignore the others.

Good points - thanks for following up.

I did notice that my man Baynes didn’t miss his dunks

Andre Iguodala has been ruled out for game 4  vs. the Rockets. This is a small big deal. Probably more due to what it does to the rotation than his specific contributions.

Looney will likely get the start and we'll see more of Swaggy and Bell and perhaps get a little Quinn Cook. The bench is perilously thin.

Still taking GSW -8.
Time for Zaza to goon it up.

Warriors have been very good with Looney on the floor.  Bench is definitely thin with a number of guys unplayable in meaningful minutes.

With how close this game is you'd think there'd be hundreds of new posts in this thread.

Screw the haters. This is some excellent basketball.
Because all the hot take posters can't post right now. The game is too close and if it doesn't go their way they wouldn't want to look dumb.
