I don't understand the NHL blackout policy of out of market preseason games. I'm 4 hours from either Tampa or Sunrise and I get MSG on Directv Sports Pack.

I get the Directv Center Ice package but preseason games are blacked out. So stupid.
As a Blues fan living in Indiana, I can't watch a single Blues game with any streaming package (STL is 6-7 hours away). Meanwhile, Detroit Red Wings and Columbus Blue Jackets (3-4 hours away) games are totally fine, though.

I think blacked out is the wrong term.  they don't offer any preseason on center ice.

Got my Bruins games for this season ...

McJesus

Matthews

Ovie

(and some team from Philly)

:pickle:

Normally have five games, but traded one of my games with the guy behind me for his two seats for the Oilers game in late November.

I can get MSG the other 22 hours of a day. Last night, the Flyer-Rangers was blacked out because I was outside their viewing area. (Directv message)

The NHL has decided to not let people see that content for "free", yet offer no substitute.

It's "competing" against the NHLN preseason coverage.

My buddy made an interesting observation today while dividing up our Bruins season tickets.

Players pictured are: Chara, Bergeron, Rask, Marchand, Backes, Krejci, Krug and Carlo.

Who's not pictured? :oldunsure:

so rather than scrap the horrible offsides challenge you now get a penalty if you get it wrong.  now you have to guess on if it's a ####s hair over the line and get penalized if you're wrong.  in other words, we don't want to admit it's the worst rule ever but maybe coaches won't use it as much.  what a leeg.  morons

The best. Bet Bettman dreamt that one up himself.

At the time of printing they probably assumed Pasta would be long gone.

How bad is the KHL. The Rangers have some goalie who seems to never lose and hardly gets scored on. Pretty sure he is next after Henrik but just wondering about who he is facing

you guys still get hard tickets? We just get a little credit card to scan at the entrance.
I know one of the local minor league baseball teams does that. I'm not sure if that's an option for the Bruins ... it would make it difficult when we have five different people splitting the season tickets.

You can just convert them into paper tickets or email them to whomever you want. Nobody needs to actually have the card.

25. The Rangers are quietly thrilled their 21-year-old goalie prospect, Igor Shesterkin, is making a strong case to be Russia’s Olympic starter in South Korea. I’d pencilled in a different up-and-comer, the Islanders’ Ilya Sorokin (who is 22) for that job. But Shesterkin, who had a .937 save percentage last season, is at .951 so far for St. Petersburg. His coach there is Oleg Znarok, who doubles as the Olympic team’s bench boss.

Thx for posting. Some interesting stuff on Chytl. He looks like he can be a very nice player. Im hoping they let both draft picks play in juniors this year. Dont want another Manny Malhotra even though he had a decent enough career. Too high of expectations for kids. They are not Mcjesus or Eichel.

Islanders say they submitted "a comprehensive proposal to create a world-class sports and entertainment destination" at Belmont.

Owners in Detroit today touring the Red Wings new arena.

Hearing the Belmont competition is the NYCFC soccer team.

This really needs to happen

Should have opened Twitter earlier. Anderson to frolunda and Chytl stays to center Nash and Zuuc. Good luck kid.

Would have loved Pionk to stay and Staal down to Hartford. Lol

Is there a train that runs from the island to Belmont. If not they need to include that in proposal imo.

Blues are considering signing Jaromir Jagr.

Robby Fabbri was declared out for the season with a torn up knee and the Blues have a void. It's very unlike Doug Armstrong to tout a player like Jagr in public, so I wonder if that means it's more or less likely that Jagr could be a Blue.

Personally, you could do a LOT worse for a 3rd line winger than Jagr at this point. Plus, if the Blues sign Jagr, I'm totally buying a Jagr jersey and I know many other Blues fans will. So even if he doesn't work on the ice, I think he could make the team some money in jersey sales alone.

Seems like a win-win to me.

Where are the Blues on cap space? Jagr hasn't exactly been a "3rd line money" kind of guy. Wouldn't be a bad fit IMO, but IIRC he's been in the $4 - $5 million range with the Panthers the past few years...

With Fabbri going on LTIR, they have about $3.1 million free. Should be enough, no?

That's less than he's made the last few years. Probably depends on his other offers and if he'd rather win or live somewhere warm. Who knows with him?
took $1MM in salary and $1MM in bonuses to sign in Calgary. don't think he cared about the money or weather much.

I think the Belmont station is now seasonal, from LI you need to xfer in Jamaica and if you survive, you can then go to Belmont.

Sadly, the Citimorgue and Belmont sites should've been used for a Jets stadium too, but Woody was such a dope, he thought he could get a stadium on the west side for some odd reason, complete with no parking.  If he had used his pull and noodle, he could've landed a spot closer to the team's fan base,  Instead, we have Giants Stadium 2 - Electric Boogaloo.

The LI area needs an airport and an arena, sadly, it's such a cluster out there, nothing will ever get done.

we have an airport, Islip/MagArthur and its fantastic...just no one flies into/out of it. I honestly don't understand why the team never looked out in Suffolk County for an arena location, there is a ton of land, major highways and most of their fan base is from the eastern side of LI anyway.

I'm cautiously optimistic about Bellmont b/c if it docent happen, then I think the Isles are gone. Too many viable options outside NY for them to put up with this BS for this long. The lone saving grace for this project is that it is NYS land and not Nassau county (which botched the whole original Lighthouse project that was being privately funded by the then-owner). So hopefully approvals will go through quicker and less red tape.

I was actually in the old Nassau Coliseum this weekend for the 1st time and its pretty damn nice looking. Too bad they took out too many seats and it would not meet the NHL minimum.

Pens send D Derrick Poulliott to 'Couver for a 4th and D Andrey Pedan (10 points, 100 PIM in AHL last season).

I guess he never lived up to a Top 10 draft spot in 2012. Later that round they took Olli Maata who has also had some growing pains.

Malcolm Subban was claimed by the Golden Knights. Another Bruins first-round pick that didn't pan out.

The one saving (ha!) grace is that now Zane McIntyre should get most of the playing time in Providence to see if he develops.

he's still really young for a goalie, no way you can write him off as a bust yet.  I'm sure Boston would have liked to keep him but had to risk it with the way Khudobin has played.  very nice zero risk grab for Vegas.

The 4th is easily the most valuable piece in that trade...
