Still trying to appreciate the Brayden Schenn trade. While not a fan of his, they subtracted 26 goals from a team that struggled to score. They're expecting better years from Giroux and Voracek and contributions from quite a few kids, that's exciting but scary. I had thought Schenn could've been moved for another established forward, not more draft picks and a cold contract. Two firsts is a nice return though. I know they're a few years from even being considered a "contender", I guess it's weird to see the GM act that way as well. Nevermind the fact that we'll probably see a Bernier/Neuvirth tandem in goal behind a kid defense, could be a rough ride this season again. We won't see the fruits of this trade for 2-3 years at best, so I guess the future is bright.
