**2017 Preseason Observations Thread** (1 Viewer)

Is it too much to ask for a Devonta Freeman-esque emergence from the ashes for Smallwood? Probably, but that's what I'm hoping for. Blount may be an elite goal line back but outside of the redzone, the best he can do is heroically run into the back of the line for 2 yards. There will hopefully be an opportunity for someone else.
Is it too much for a mid-to-late round pick who is at best third on the depth chart to bust out a RB1 season?  It's probably really unlikely.....

Kasen Williams, 2 very nice catches to start out this game.  I never even heard the name before now.

ETA:  Right when I post this he runs down Jerrick McKinnon on a kickoff for a tackle at the 10 yard line

Williams looked good last game also, but this time he is doing it against starters.

who is Kasen Williams and where did he come from.

Anyways, Seahawks have an interesting WR corps. Baldwin, Lockett, Richardson, Darboh, and now Williams. No one elite but plenty serviceable.

I remember reading how Cook would trip over his own feet like once a game in college. It looks like he's on a mission to raise that average.

His vision between the gaps is pretty meh right now too.

I'm unimpressed to be honest.

definitely missed a hole a couple plays back.

I dunno. Looks to me like the Vikings line is getting zero push and the running lanes are getting blown up.

Just like last year.

Finally someone seeing what I'm seeing.  Been saying this months.

Seahawks offense in general is looking pretty good.  If they can have any of these RB's hit (Lacy, Rawls, Prosise, Carson) they could be one of the more prolific offenses in the league.  Russell looks good and comfortable throwing to his guys, Baldwin getting open with ease right now.

only taking Prosise in PPR. Rawls runs so violently and if healthy for 16 games would be a steal, but I have no confidence in that.

Sorry, not in front of the TV...any thoughts on how Bradford looks? I'm wondering if he might be a decent QB2 along the lines of Eli, Dalton etc but much cheaper..

He looks good enough if you're bullish on him.  The difference between him and the Eli's and Dalton's of the world is weapons and O-line.  You're getting a much safer/higher ceiling option with one of those others I'd think.

Agreed. He looks like he always has which means you either think he sucks or is serviceable. But the scheme caps his ceiling at around 3500/25 at best. I'd take Dalton and Eli ahead of him because of what Zyphros said - he just doesn't have a lot around him.

Diggs might catch 100 passes though.

Thanks, fellas. Great comments.

Bradford is just so cheap was keeping him on the radar in case some positional sleepers available Rds 10-11 like they often do.

Wilson looks great. Hawks converted LT Fant who has worked his ### off and was just named starter looks like he just broke his leg.

Alex Collins is pretty much cut at this point. Wasn't going to get rostered fantasy wise but this Carson kid is on the team.

Except Rivers >> Bradford and Diggs would get bodied by KA
I'm talking solely from the perspective of how they're utilized and how that will translate over to fantasy. They're both route technicians who run high percentage routes with similar catch rates, yards per reception and RZ work. I expect them to see similar volume this year too.

Keenan isn't allergic to the end zone.
His conversion rate is better but he's utilized similarly, that is to say, not very much.

Elflein seems pretty good.

Vikes offense is very vanilla again tonight. And not even New York vanilla.

Seattle is screwed without their LT
Yea that really hurts ... such a shame - Russ looks great, and hungry after last year.

For an organization that drafts so well, it's really frustrating they won't go get the face of the franchise some damn protection

Seeming organizational arrogance. It's all fun and games on the sidelines, we draft great players in the 7th Rd nonsense on the broadcast, but the decision making process when it comes to the nuts and bolts of protecting the franchise QB has repeatedly failed.
