**2017 Preseason Observations Thread** (1 Viewer)

I'm only able to game cast, but appeared that Ware received first carry and then its been Hunt since. Is Ware even hitting the field?
Haven't been watching the whole game but Ware looked fine last week so perhaps they just want to give Hunt a chance to work with the 1's.

Dak is a super star in the making........upgrade for Dez.......
right now you can get Dez in the late 2nd, and there is a ton of untapped potential for Dak.

Per 4for4: "Dak Prescott finished as the No. 6 QB in fantasy last season despite ultra-conservative play-calling tendencies. Prescott not only had to overcome an offense ranked in the bottom-three in situation-neutral pace and pass-play rate, but also one ranked 26th in red zone pass-play rate and rate of pass attempts 16+ yards downfield."

It helps that Rico Gathers may be legit, and I love the Switzer pick.

Yeah he's an elite QB.

Stafford to Marvin Jones in the RZ, very nice throw and catch. ZZ worked in with Ameer and the starters ZZ got the only GL carry.

The Lions do not have a good front 7. Ziggy isn't playing. Their leading pass rusher from last year is done with an achilles tear. The Jets are making them look like the 85 Bears.

I'm an Abdullah truther and I still don't understand why people predicting that he'll have a breakout fantasy year. Talent is obviously only part of the equation.

Guys, Hackenburg almost completed a pass. It was to the LOS, but he under threw the receiver, put the ball in the dirt.

ETA: Jets adjusted and threw a pass behind the LOS and it worked.

Bruce Ellington is 3/60 on 3 targets from Savage. This guy was getting some hype last year before he tore his hammy. Injuries have always been a problem with him but this offense is starved for receiving options with Fuller out.

Check out this grab.

Hackenburg still struggling to throw the ball into the field of play. 2nd time he has targeted a WR and put 10 yards over his head, out of bounds.

nice... still think Braxton Miller is the play here with Fuller out, if he can clean up his routes.
I imagine Miller and Ellington are competing for the slot, right? I think Strong is the favorite to line up opposite Hopkins. To be honest, I haven't been following HOU too closely.

This guy is the steal of all drafts. I just need him to stay off the radar for 1 more week. Pleeeeaaase.
Nope. I picked him at 12.1 this morning in a draft master a few rounds early to make sure I got him. His ADP is about to jump 7-8 rounds.

In all my mocks, I have been able to get him near round 14. I am not happy about this TD.

I don't think so. A lot of people view him as some rando RB who was burried on CIN's depth chart for 4 years. NE's backfield has the perception of being extremely muddled too.

I think he'll shoot up a couple rounds but nothing crazy like that.

Yes and I think people just think it's because Gillislee isn't playing (which it might be). He might be an actual sleeper. Those are rare these days, but I bet there are a couple people in my league that don't know who Burkhead is.

I feel like that too.

And then I remind myself that I'm probably better off with no part of that backfield in the long run
Rex is the ideal late round pick. After a week or 2, you will know if he's something or if he isn't. If it is a big mess or Gillslee is the guy, you can drop Rex and add one of the WW darlings.

Oh yeah, the situation is perceived to be muddled because I think it is in fact muddled. It's just that it's worth betting on a piece outside Gillislee because they're cheap and the offense is so explosive. NE annually finishes top 5 in RZ attempts per game like clockwork.

I'll take Rex, bench him for a few wks to see what goes. He'll do well so I'll start him....he won't get a carry. Meh...

Then trade him after he looks good and let someone else deal with the headache. Getting a RB that you might even consider starting in Round 12 is a successful pick.

Abdullah looks quick and recovered. I could see 1,000 yards but he will be so limited by Riddick/Zenner committee effect. RB3 at best if he stays healthy.

Not much for Golladay 1-6 but Stafford looked accurate tonight.

The Jets may not win a game. Barf, just barf.

I switched to the Lions, but Mack had 3 plays I saw where popped off the screen. Fast and elusive from what I saw.
Detroit guy are you?

... me too - I couldn't watch much of that game today though. But I saw all your updates on Hackenberg lol ... was wondering why you were watching.

i was also flipping back n forth - but then I wanted whiskey and lamb chops
