One more win at home over the Vols and its Liberty Bowl, baby.

Nothing went their way because their Defense couldn't stop a square rock from rolling up a hill and the Offense without Dungy was a sitting duck. ND is just a better team. A lot better
We put a piece of paper over the area of the tv that shows the score so we can't see it. That way we can just focus on each play and really get a feel for the game. So Cuse gets the ball back with two minutes to go and my buddy asks me to guess the score. I say it's 19-13, Cuse driving here for the win with a td and pat. We pull the piece of paper off and see that it's 36-0. Man were we shocked. Game seemed so close.

Agreed.  The Irish could have won by 50 yesterday.

UCF beats ND.
Maybe, but ND is really strong along the lines and can impose their will at times.  How strong is UCF in the trenches?  If it's not high end they'd struggle over 4 quarters.

Since Alabama took Notre Dame to the woodshed in the National Championship game 6 years agao the Domers have produced more NFL line talent.  Doesn't mean they're a better team than Alabama (nobody is really close IMO), but the Domers talent base is much higher now than it was then.  With Ian Book they also have a legit college QB.  Just not sure UCF would hold up against that.

All good points guess we will never know.  UCF probably plays the Gators in a bowl game if UCF wins out.  UCF definitely wins that one.

Nipsey is gold

I would love to see UCF jump Ohio in the rankings this week. Buckeye fans would lose their minds.
They should jump OSU to 9.  Not sure if OSU fans would/should be upset about it.  Even if they beat Michigan next week they probably don't have a path to the playoff.

Nope.  On the field there's a case to be made, but their off-field baggage makes it highly improbable.

With all the teams in front of them and them playing at home vs Mich... and if they win they play a low ranked Northwestern team in the Big10 title game... it would be a weak case imo.  They should have lost to unranked Maryland yesterday... giving up 51 pts.  Very weak case.

Is gundy on the hot seat?  Seems like miles should just wait and go back to that job.  I guess that maybe he can recruit anywhere, though, and he knows the territory around Kansas.

Isn’t UCF basically just a big community college?
That's what people said about Gonzaga basketball not that long ago.  They've hit overseas recruiting hard to build the program...UCF just has to convince some local talent to stay.  Seems like an easier path to success. :dunno:

Its not that hard of a path. OSU wins out, Alabama beats UGA, WVU beats OU, Washington beats Wazzu.

All of those are very possible.

Kind of fitting that yesterday was the first time Nebraska and Michigan State played each other since the accident taking the lives of Sam Foltz and Mike Sadler and all of the points scored were from kicks.

I’ve joked about it a lot but I don’t think it’s all shtick. He needs to retire. That isn’t particularly fun to watch.
I used to think it was an excuse (and maybe it was since he came back for an additional decade of coaching post UF), but he didn’t look good yesterday.  Put him up in the booth for now if he won’t hang it up.

Or just have it fixed.  The commonality of the issue and the ease of resolution 99% of the time gives me pause.  It either gets removed completely or you suck all the crap out of it so it's not interfering.  I don't really understand why he's not addressed it.  He's either full of #### or it's in a really crappy place and a lot worse than he's letting on.

How many points would a Clemson or Alabama score on Ohio Suck if Maryland scored 51?

Miles reached a buyout agreement with LSU. Some KU fans are convinced he's their next coach. I don't understand why either side would want that. Not saying Miles isn't a good coach but I don't think a 65 year-old is the man for that job.
Looks like the got their wish.   I think it's a good hire for them.

I’m not sure. It’s a big name, but I don’t know how much I like the fit. It’s odd to me that a team needing a full multi-year rebuild would hire someone who’s already Medicare eligible.

I do like Les as a coach and a personality, it’s just an odd fit.

Ohio still has two more games to pull their head out of their ###, but that disaster that's been out there has no business getting in over UCF.

I don't disagree about his age.  Not sure they get more than 5 years of of him.  It is at least a "name" hire that brings some attention.  The hot young coaches are aiming higher than Kansas right now.  I think someone else mentioned Les helping turn it around with the possibility of it being a more attractive job in the future.

In the last 20 years Kansas has finished .500 or better 4 times (from 2005-2008).  10 times in the last 40 years.

They have basketball.  Has the school ever dedicated itself to the football program?

No they didn’t. Gonzaga is a small private school, that’s a really bad comparison.

It’s not an odd fit at all. Miles would be employed if not for his age, Kansas is not getting a rising star coach to go there so they need to be creative. This isn’t that hard to figure out but once again, logic escapes you.

Why can’t they get a rising star?  They’re going to pay Les $2.75M, you telling me Bill Clark from UAB wouldn’t jump for that kind of money?  Chad Morris went to SMU when they had gone 1-9 the year before, James Franklins went to Vandy, it happens all the time.

It’s a P5 job with low expectations, they have plenty of options.

Ill refrain from insulting you, but will point out again that you’re the one who always feels compelled to initiate these interactions.
