2018 College Football Thread: Local man buys some teenage champions a 4 for 4 (4 Viewers)

I guess I could have left work a bit early today to see my alma mater in the Pinstripe Bowl, which I just learned kicked off a while ago, but I honestly could not possibly care less.  I'm actively rooting for all of these bowl sponsors, networks, conferences, schools and media outlets to all lose tons of money on this cluster####.

I don’t understand this line of thinking at all.

Do you feel the same way during March Madness?

Just a heads up everybody. Check your shampoo, energy drinks, creams, and epsom salt. According to Father Dabo Ostarine is found in all of these products and we all could have it in our systems.

Oh, and check your syringes and needles. There could be some in there as well, Right Dabo.

I know you're a Gamecock so Clemson is the equivalent of UGA to me but I don't think whatever happened is a rampant Clemson issue.  If it were, wouldn't more guys have been busted?  Lawrence is a big name but the other two guys I've never heard of.

He got lost on the way to the women’s college b-ball thread.  Let him have this, I’d latch on to anything too if I had to root for that abortion of a football program.

I hear you and I wouldn't say there is widespread use but I wouldn't rule it out either.  I do find it interesting that none of these Clemson players fail these test until they are administered by the NCAA.

Oh and as far as Dexter goes, hopefully there’s a lesson learned here not to take a supplement where you don’t know exactly what is in there, whether it’s on the label or not. I hope he has a great pro career. Huggins will get the start.  It won’t be the same, but I don’t think it’ll change the outcome whether it’s a win or a loss.

So you must agree with Dabo then. Name one product that this stuff is in legally. Just one.  The more likely scenario is that Dabo is talking out of his ### again trying to deflect. Even North Korea has made ostarine illegal.

I mean you kinda did just like 10 years ago.

Edit: just messin with ya

I don’t think the line has even moved half a point. Should be a relative non-issue.

I actually like gamecock fans and the school. My wife went there, most of my very best friends went there as well. Then there’s... the others.

I even have a pic of myself and Spurrier.  He was not friendly.

My wife is a gator and can’t understand why I can’t just root for them when they aren’t playing FSU. She was born in Ann Arbor and her whole family lives there so I’ve kind of absorbed Michigan fandom to keep her happy.

Exactly. Just like Dabo doesn't know but acts like he does and everyone else doesn't. Surely you don't agree with your coach trying to deflect.
I would assume he knows a lot more about this stuff than your or I. Not just him, but coach Boom as well.  If your job has you spending time with insane athletes, you’re probably relatively well versed in supplements and the like at this point.

Luckily mine is a Clemson fan. She started at Clemson and transferred when her mom got Cancer to be closer to home. She always says “She went to Clemson, but graduated from Carolina.”  Regardless, her entire family are gamecocks and we have fun, and again from my time living in Columbia (less than two miles from the stadium), I made a ton of great friends.

If im being honest about it, the Gamecocks were never much on my radar. I didn’t grow up in the state, so I didn’t give them much thought. Since I started at Clemson through now, they’ve only really been decent for a handful of years. I always cared much more about the FSU and GT games.

So the Outdoors Texas Bowl is  being played in a dome. Next they should move it to the Carrier Dome.  If you're going to live a lie, go all out.

Pretty good article after some digging on the woes of Bama kicking and possible causes:  https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/ncaafb/kick-sick-the-mystery-of-alabama-footballs-only-flaw/ar-BBRrY7Y?li=BBnb4R7
the NCAA strikes again. there are 300 people on the sidelines at a college football game but only 10 of them can be assistant coaches?

that said, can't teams figure out how to have the "team chaplain" coach a little on the side? seems weird that there's not a way to have kicking coaches.. somehow. it's such a specialized aspect of the game. strange that it basically gets ignored.

Yep.  We all know pushing the envelope is rampant in college football.  Dabo is going with feigning righteousness instead of just taking the suspension and moving on.  He is so disingenuous

He's helping the players lawyer up so they can play next week if they win.  He's not doing, IMO, that if there's some rampant cheating going on inside his program.

I think it is funny that the Clemson homers in social media have taken to sarcastically referencing the Gamecock success in other supports as some sort of insult.  The athletic department is doing a great job, despite the rebuild of the football team after Spurrier kinda gave up.  Of course, you weren't calling the football program an abortion when he was at his peak either.

Either way, I wish you guys would dial it back a bit.   I don't expect to see rivals message board type of crap takes when I check in here.

I'm certainly not accusing Clemson of rampant cheating or anything like that.  I do think that there are players at most schools that are trying to get an edge with questionable supplements.   It is more of a broader cynicism I have than a particular bias in that way.  That is probably what happened at Bama too, right?

Ostarine looks to have nearly no studies that say it does crap.  And if you are on it in any major dose you need to run a TRT cycle after or risk some serious stuff.  That would ring up on a test.

It shows up in some pre workout stuff in low dose as a pump type product. I lean towards the idea they done ####ed up and got bad stuff from GNC or something.

They will beat this rap.

I have no issue with you, nor do I have an issue with a vast majority of gamecock fans.

Your Garnet and Black comrade here is kind of obnoxious though.  If he wants to talk football, fine. If he wants to spend his time ordering ancestry.com kits hoping to find a link between Dabo and Escobar then I’ll just pass from now on.

As far as what’s happened. I’m disappointed in those 3 and unless something comes out absolving them, then I’ll remain disappointed in whatever actions they might have taken.  I don’t know anything about the drug, I don’t know how it go into their bloodstream, nor at this point do I really care. They broke the rules, they sit. If something comes out later on which gives legitimacy to their claims, great. Until then, I’ll take it like I take every other apology or excuse after someone is caught doing something they shouldn’t, which is with great cynicism.

Not sure how happy I should be with this Auburn performance - I'm waiting for the announcement at halftime that they are giving Gus a 5 year - 100M extension.
