2018 College Football Thread: Local man buys some teenage champions a 4 for 4 (1 Viewer)

Your current coach is 22-17 and hasn't won anything.   I'll leave out the 1-5 interim guy though that should be applied to Spurrier who quit on the team/school because it was so bad.   Spurrier was the best era of South Carolina football ever, right?  It was about equal to Paul Johnson's era at Georgia Tech except Johnson won an Orange Bowl and went to another.  South Carolina has never played in one better than the Outback Bowl.  It just gets worse if we keep going but again  :lmao:  at Gamecock guy saying at least they aren't Georgia Tech.   Really, all you got here is "S-E-C; S-E-C; S-E-C"
Not that any of this really matters, but I do think the Citrus is higher in the pecking order for the SEC. Man that 2013 team was good.  The Outback from the year before was certainly a more memorable game though.

Not watching the Fiesta Bowl, but checked in on this thread. Reading the top of this page, I thought LSU was down 42-0 or something.

LSU's up 10 late in the third with the ball in UCF's red zone? I think we can hold off on burying the Tigers just yet.

Congrats on beating a G5 school I guess?

LSU in the 2nd half is playing with 2DB’s, 3 Safeties and a WR in the defensive backfield....10 players who get regular PT out.

Never controlled the ball
OK ... that's why UCF couldn't advance it. Thanks.

EDIT: Well, wait ... if an LSU player touches it, shoulda been live ball for UCF and thus the UCF special-teams TD should have stood. I missed something somewhere.

I thought that too then it sounded like Griese was talking about an old team of his and I was confused... Lol

The ref said they couldn’t advance it -

Not sure if UCF has guys who can't tackle or they're tahrrrd
What happens a lot when the more physical SEC teams play a very good non-P5 opponent is that the SEC team's lines (Off and Def) just wears down the opponent. Hot starts against good SEC teams are reasonably common -- it's the second half where the squads typically separate widely.

I type that as LSU schmidts the bed inside the 5 once again.

Just saw where they flashed a bunch of LSU's game-long miscues on the screen.

Messing up left and right, plus missing most of their starting defense? Yeah, congrats are in order after all. This game could very easily be 40-something to 14 right now if LSU even had it halfway together.

And now another injury.

It seems so long ago now, but I remember when Jan 1 was the pinnacle of college football, and one of the greatest sporting days of the year.  Hungover, Keith Jackson and Brent Musberger, and 4 or 5 huge bowl games that mattered.
We'd set up 3 TVs and watch the big bowl games while playing poker all day and drinking away our hangovers.

Great times

First they came for the biggest bowls and I said nothing...

OU announces contract extension with Lincoln Riley. Riley was the No. 16 highest paid coach in college football this year. Source tells ESPN that Riley’s raise will be significant. Will put NFL rumors to rest (for now).

I normally tune out when the obscenely too long halftime shows are on, but I did enjoy the Ohio St. band doing Bohemian Rhapsody.

yeah-  they should invite 2 of the best college bands every year to play super bowl halftime rather than the #### we have heard (except Prince, Tom Petty, and Bruce)
