Well, in my opinion the best move so far was the Rams replacing Joyner with Weddle for 4.5 million less per season.  Better player for less money.

Weddle is certainly better, but he’s at the twilight of his career - Joyner is in his prime. There is risk with both these guys.

I like both signings for both teams - may help LA free up cap space on a star-rich team and brings proven talent and veteran leadership to the Rams’ secondary.

Raiders get an undeniable upgrade in their secondary with a guy who can play both FS and SS, at terms that seem to give them flexibilty after the first few years.

Jets agreed to terms with ILB C.J. Mosley, formerly of the Ravens, on a five-year, $85 million contract.

The deal includes $51 million guaranteed. Mosley was reportedly willing to take a discount to re-sign with the Ravens, but this was obviously an amount he couldn't turn down. His average $17 million per year is a new record for an inside linebacker, trumping the $13.5 million the Niners handed to ex-Bucs LB Kwon Alexander once negotiations opened Monday. Set to turn 27 this summer, Mosley led the Ravens with 105 tackles during the regular season while also garnering PFF's No. 12 run-stopping grade out of 61 qualifiers at his position. DC Gregg Williams should have no issues dialing up pressure with the new additions of OLB Anthony Barr and Mosley up the middle.

I gotta believe that Moseley report is inaccurate.  That's $30M more than Kwon just signed for.  Yes, he's better than Kwon, but even Kwon just reset the LB market - and now NYJ break it to the tune of $30M?  Doesn't add up.

Weddle seems like he'll be better suited to SS. the Rams have a ####ty LB corps and need Weddle to finish off a lot of tackles.

Supply and demand, plus some GMs look prepared to spend their money pretty stupidly.  But I’m guessing given what the reports were and Mosley willing to give BAL a hometown discount, NY felt they had to step up this far to lure Mosley away.

At least the pro-player proponents ought to be ecstatic about the level of spending so far this FA session.

I just find it strange that LB's are getting big money, in what is one of the best LB draft classes in recent memory. I mean like 10 LB's are likely to go in the first 3 rounds.

I would disagree with that, as would many mock drafts I've seen, not that early march mocks are exceptionally accurate. Point being, I'm really shocked to see Alexander(especially) and Mosley getting paid so much when the supply and demand doesn't(or shouldn't) favor the demand side.

 
New England tendered Josh Gordon at the $2 million / second round level. While he remains suspended, this move allows them to retain his rights unless someone wants to sign him and give The Pats a 2nd round pick. 

 
Wow - the LeVeon Bell rumors are pretty crazy.  Marlon Mack and Aaron Jones owners are probably sweating some bullets right now...

Jets/Ravens/Texans/Bills could all happen without any significant Dynasty casualties.

Raiders not mentioned - good for them.

Yes one of the six teams above is the rumor.

The Packers would be scary with Bell, but the price tag is probably going to be ridiculous.

Apparently the packers are no longer shy... based on the stupid money they gave Jimmy Graham and now what they are giving Preston Smith.  

Ted Thompson is probably stroking out watching these clowns...

Edit:  Colts rumored to be completely out of the running.  Makes sense with their current RB stable.

I think the market for inside LBs who can cover is going to go up because of recent trends.  The latest offensive trend is to put pass catching RBs out there who are difficult for LBs to cover.  Inside LBs that can stop the run and still cover the backs are going to be in big demand.

I'd rather the Colts make a move on OBJ instead of Bell.  Mack isn't a bad RB (don't own him).  Ballard won't do either.

I think it's highly probable Devin Bush Jr. is also getting drafted in the top 3 rounds. You could argue some of those EDGE guys could be listed as a DE but Bush is a pure LB.

I definitely agree with your first two sentences. I was losing my #### watching those plaid games where defenders repeatedly could not get to the backs on the flat. It was ridiculous.

But I don't think you cover that spot with an inside backer - it's too much ground to cover. You do it with the outside backers. And a guy like Devin Bush would definitely fit that role. And for that reason, among others, I agree that Bush (and possibly a couple others) should be drafted quite high.

Yes, I think who covers that depends on the defensive scheme for sure.  I think you still want your Middle Backer in a 4-3 to be a good cover guy.  Before RB was the trend, TE mismatches were all the rage.  I think offenses are stacking 2 or 3 coverage mismatches (RB, TE, Slot) and then attacking the worst cover guy who draws the biggest mismatch.

 
Jordan Hicks 4/36 I like that value a ton. Personally, I think he's better than Mosley or Alexander, and he's much cheaper than either. Good move by the Cardinals.

L. Murray is two draft classes younger than Ingram. Going by stats, skill sets seem comparable. How's Murray as a pass blocker?

Not what i'd hoped for, but not a terrible fit considering Allen's arm and the mediocre depth chart the bills have at wide receiver.  I can see him becoming their wr1 in short order or fading into fantasy wr4 territory. Probably more interested as a best ball option or maybe a bye week guy with upside.
