2019 NCAA Tourney Thread: Nation has to watch Virginia again (1 Viewer)

Two fantastic games yesterday.

I expect Duke/MSU will be a war today, though I wish somehow both could lose.

I don't know if Auburn can play again like they did Friday, especially with that one kid being hurt. I'll be rooting for them, though.

Can't review a no call.
Except when you can, like a flagrant.

I am not arguing the truth of it, i am simply baffled that such an obvious call was missed and that it isnt reviewable.

It is similarly baffling to me how you can review if something was a flagrant, but then everything after said flagrant still counts. So for example you get a rebound using a hook and hold. Then you pass the ball to your teammate. He makes a three. Refs decide to review. Call a flagrant, but the three still counts.

Makes zero sense to me that the basket would still count. I could buy an argument that "we never change the scoreboard" but that is simply not true since they will add or take away points for toe on the line or not minutes later.

I guess it is fitting since there is no consistency in the reffing either.

I think he was referring to the ball going all the way to the backcourt on the missed FT.  Someone noted above that UVA's frontcourt possession prior to the foul doesn't "count" for that purpose.
What is kind of interesting about this is that the virginia player(diakite) that sent it into backcourt gets credited with an offensive rebound. Its a weird quirk.

You're, right, I totally misread.

For over and back, three things need to happen: 1) Offensive team last to posses in FC; 2) Offensive team last to touch in the FC; 3) Offensive team first to touch in the BC.  They never possessed the ball so no over and back.

This kind of rich, coming from you.  One of the best regional final weekends in years and you are still crying about officiating.  Stick to tennis or golf.
Dude. You rapid fire answered a bunch of things that had already been addressed. And in your haste you misread one of the posts.

You pointed out playing straight up was a slightly positive EV even though the study that best demonstrates that was already posted. And had been before.

You addressed the 30 minute gap between games with pretty much a verbatim answer that was already given.

Then of course there was the over and back discussion.

So yes. Take a deep breath and maybe actually read through the thread before you come in and try and show off. Believe it or not mr. I have a basketball term as my username there are other well informed posters in here.

At the very least read the post you are replying to.

Sorry chief, I'm in a location where it is difficult to watch live so I often Hipple things on here.  Please accept my apology so you can get back to crying about the refs and questioning the rules that are intuitively obvious to any semi-informed fan.

Hey remember last time when you thought you were a semi-informed fan and spoke up about a rule that didn't even apply because you weren't even watching the game being discussed and it was a totally different scenario?

I remember. It was really really helpful. :lmao:

Some bad passes, some wide open missed threes. I am hoping these were just jittery mistakes, but i am afraid you might be right and they might just be out of steam.
Most of their jump shots are falling short and they were hands-on-knees before 2 minutes had passed. They'll need Kentucky to play down to them, I think, to have a chance..

Auburn looks lost on offense. Kentucky misfiring some too to prevent this from getting ugly on scoreboard
This is like the game in Lexington - Kentucky guards are too big and quick and keep the Auburn outside shooters from getting the good looks. Kentucky recovers quickly on the picks.

Been an incredible weekend of ball so far.  So many complaining about no upsets in round 2 but it has created a really entertaining S16 and E8
