2020-21 NBA *Playoffs* Thread: Bucks are the champs and you can take that to the bank bromigos (5 Viewers)

congrats to the hawks and their fans they have a hell of a team and with trae and reddish the future looks really bright too bright as a bucks fan in fact but good series and thanks to everyone who said they are happy for me i appreciate it  and im glad to be alive to see this take that to the bank brohans

I was going to grab a confused looked Bud as my avatar but went with this one.  Let me know if you have another one you want me to use instead.
This will do just fine.

Your squad is building something really nice; Reddish was definitely feeling himself last night. It’ll be interesting to see what they decide with Collins in free agency, but regardless they’ve got a great young nucleus to build around.

Wonder what it would be if Giannis was fully healthy.
The Bucks were more heavily favored at the start of the playoffs.  Even when four teams were left were the favorite at +105.  I am pretty sure it was when Giannis got hurt that Phoenix stepped into the favorite spot.  It seemed like Giannis was going to play if there was a Game 7.  Not sure if he plays game 1, but I would think a lock for Game 2.  I am surprised the Bucks are at -180 to +160 line.  I would have thought the Bucks would have been slight favorites.  I expect the odds to flip when the Bucks take 1 of 2 on the road.

Atlanta has been the best team in basketball record wise since way back to Febuary and they were given no respect.

Not sure what Atlanta needs to do to get respect.  Certainly on the road against the Bucks they should be slight dogs, but still 7.5 points?  There was not one moment in last night's game where it looked like Milwaukee was going to cover +8.  Sure it is possible Milwaukee will put on their big boy pants and blow Atlanta out in a must win game at home, but Atlanta is the best team remaining and should be the favorite to win it all.  Atlanta should only be or +1 or +2 dog on the road.

Negative what?  You don't think Atlanta will cover +7.5?  Or you don't think they are the best team left, despite having the best record since February, despite taking down the #1 and #4 seeds, despite beating the Bucks in game #1.   Besides name recognition and preconceived biases, looking objectively at results seem to indicated the Hawks are as good or better than the Bucks, even if it is based on superior coaching.
How'd the best team in basketball lose in 6, Juan?

I cashed out over $8k when Phoenix won the conference (+1400).  I still have $100 on them to win it all at +3600.  I lost $400 on Atl to win the conference at +2500, but those bets allowed me to hedge heavily on Milwaulkee with $2000 at +320 to win it all.  I am happy with the results.  I really did not care who wins, just saw opportunity to make money.

Their best player got hurt.

Not sure who wins the series if both Young and Giannis were fully available for every game, but it coulda easily gone to 7 games.
You mean Giannis, right?

And you're really not sure who wins the series with Giannis and Trae in?  HUH?  The Bucks would be a prohibitive favorite in that scenario.   And they went 4-1 after that first game anyway.

Point being, that first game take/conclusion Juan kept pounding his chest about was way overblown.  And incorrect in the end.

I was not pounding my chest. I was making an observation that the Hawks with those odds seemed iundervalued for how well they had been playing.  Said the same about Phoenix.  Was not expecting either team to win, just thought I could get bets that could get in position to make money.

I was trying to do something about Coach Bud confused who won the series since the other team has MLK on their uniform but I couldn’t work it out.
"Players in MLK jerseys walk off court disappointed.  Bud thinks his Bucks lost." ??

Ya, you're right it is kinda tough to get a good one there haha

So back to the Suns/Bucks

Anybody with a strong lean?

Bucks and Clippers were the best teams vs. the Suns in the regular season.  Of course, Bucks had a 100% Giannis in the regular season.

I'm going to say Suns in 6 if Giannis misses any of the Bucks home games.  If Giannis were 100% from the beginning I'd have it as a dead heat, going to 7 games.

Hot take is that Giannis at 75% is perfect. If he can defend, but doesn’t need things to run through him on the other end - best of both worlds for the bucks.

Hawks will be back. Probably much better. Loved their potential this year but never thought they'd get to ECF this year. Did catch a good draw with an outclassed Knicks and flawed Sixers team. If they get healthy years out of Hunter/Reddish  they'll get two very good defenders that'll take away time from the turnstiles the Hawks had to play on the perimeter that just killed them vs. the Bucks

Reddish has All-Star potential if can continue to hit 3s like he did last night and becomes more assertive going to the bucket with his size. Not sure that'll happen offensively with the Hawks even if he improves from outside playing next to Ice Trae and variety of other offensive options.

Pissed off at myself for not buying any extra Finals tickets in the season ticket holders’ presale last Friday. Could’ve bought an extra 4 per game, and probably would’ve  netted a few thousand bucks (no pun intended) reselling them.

Don't get too excited here.

Sincerely,

A Celtics fan

I bet the Bucks +480 a couple of weeks ago. Didn’t bet nearly enough though.
Yeah, those are really nice odds.   Still baffled by Phoenix being as heavily favored as they are.  Sure they have walked through the playoffs, but two injury plagued teams and one average Denver team..  The +180 for the Bucks to win the series is still a good bet.  The only bet I really like on the Phoenix side right now is Ayton at +2500 for MVP.   Ayton is key for the Suns to beat the Bucks.

If Phoenix wins, there’s no way in hell they don’t give the MVP to either Flop King or Booker
