What?  I mean you've just gotta be trolling.
I don’t understand what your issue is. The Warriors as an organization have made 6 of the last 8 finals and won 4 of them. That isn’t easy. Kevin Durant is great. He helped them win 2 of them. He left and his team hasn’t done anything. The team he left just won a title.

There was some good money to be made during this series.  The odds for NBA Champion moved wildly even during the games.  After game 3 when the Warriors went down 2-1 the odds were Warriors +160.  Gross over-reaction.  Put $500 down with confidence. 🤙

Great to be engaged in basketball again.  I had turned it off for a long time.  Amazing how much the game has changed.  It's almost unrecognizable from 30 years ago.  Not sure if I like it.

Well now you've moved the goalposts to what you originally were arguing. I agree the Warriors are a great organization.

When you say "And how did KD’s team do the last 2 years?" you're implying that KD wasn't a main driving force in both those titles. He was the best player on those teams.

I mean, Durant was a fraction of a toe away from blocking Giannis from getting a  title.   It’s weird to say his team hasn’t done anything.  Nets probably win that series 6 or 7 times out of 10.

And the sixers were were one wild shot from preventing Toronto from winning a title. But who cares?  They still lost.

I was the biggest kobe hater and lebron fan at that time. Lebron has accumulated stats and is better overall. But Curry has a legitimate claim to being the player if this era. His style changed the game and he won 4 titles. Nobody could try to make even a half hearted argument that Jordan didn’t define his era and changed basketball. Lebron isn’t the goat.

Ehhh, he was the best player on those teams because Steph let him be. Steph's ego (or lack thereof) was a major factor in those championships.

No, he does not at all. Curry is awesome and is unquestionably the 2nd best player of his generation, but the gap between James and Curry is pretty wide.

Jordan defined an era that was arguably the worst since the merger. Offense so bad that they had to move the arc in for three seasons. He changed the game by becoming an international star but he didn't change the way the game is played.

I agree with this.  Curry "wows" me more than any other player since Jordan.  I never thought I'd see someone better than Jordan, but Curry is close.  Jordan's numbers are better, and you can't deny that.  He's also a better defender.  But if Curry does this for another few years I might give him the title.  He's amazing.

What do you guys think of Tatum?  I was high on him coming into this series, perhaps hoping he'd emerge as the best young player in the NBA, but man he really #### the bed.  He's good, perhaps even great, but I was hoping he'd show signs of being an all-timer.  Clearly he's not there, and I'm not sure he can be.  But he's still young, and he's the 2nd youngest player to 1,500 points behind Kobe Bryant.  Thoughts?

wait a week or so and you'll understand

There's a lot to improve on. Which can be great when you have a young guy who has already dropped 50 multiple times.

His mental game (with the foul begging/overreactions to calls), ball handling, decision-making all need work.

Steph is the best player of his era and Green is pure class?  @Capella fire up the 2022/23 thread stat so we can get these hot takes on page 1.
Lol at an Atlanta fan rooting for a team that puts regular season games over country Olympic medals  lecturing about class.  While Steph ( who I like) was posing, Green was being a gentleman.

Everyone thinks Green is an ### but while everyone was celebrating he was spending a minute hugging and talking with the Celtic stars.  Props to him, we saw his true colors n
I’m a Warriors fan, so some of you may think I’m biased, but I think Green is a good dude, but ultra competitive in the moment. There are so many moments on the court that make me cringe, but when the pressure is off he is one of the best interviews in sports IMHO. If all I saw of him was his play on the court I can totally understand why people can’t stand him.

This has to to be fishing. There is Michael Jordan DNA in every single player who’s entered the league since the 90s.

I wouldn't say pretty wide anymore.  There is something to be said about staying with one team and building a legacy instead of hopping around the league fishing for rings.
There is a lot to be said for it.  He is not on LBJ's level all-time, but very few are. and there is zero shame in that.  I have banged the drum for years that Curry was better than Durant, and maybe now the non-believers will wake up about that.  I always think the take that Durant is better because he was the finals MVP in '17 and '18 on the teams they were both on is a lazy one.  I mean, is Shaq better than Kobe all time because he was the finals MVP all three times they won a title together?  Nope. I think Curry being the team leader and having zero issues with Durant coming in and taking over like he did at times spoke volumes about what a good leader and teammate Curry is.  Most NBA players wouldn't have been able to put their ego aside like Steph did there.

I guess people can look at it from two different perspectives- LBJ is the better “player”, has the better overall skill set, is more dominant etc - but Curry had the better “career” for the reasons people mentioned (rings, finals MVPs, doing it with one franchise, leadership, etc.)

In the end these discussions are mostly meaningless anyway.

He should start channeling Steph Curry...

I've watched him since HS here in Michigan. He has always played with a chip on his shoulder, which is why he was a perfect fit on an Izzo-coached MSU team. Total Warrior mentality and huge competitor, and leadership qualities throughout his entire career since his HS days, into college, and now the pros. Probably one of the most generous persons around as well. I love him. Go Green Go 'Dubs

Happy to see the Grant Williams and Marcus Smart flopfest not rewarded with a title. Loved Smart giving up that wide open 3 to Curry late hunched over flopping, shades of when he gave the same look to Klay in the previous game.
Smart has no shame.....to the point he has to act like he got punched in the nuts?

Oh come on, you can't really believe this.

Just because Jordan wasn't an assassin from 3, he was a legit assassin in every other aspect of the game.  He changed the game in terms of clutchness, competitiveness, playing above the rim, will to win, all around offensive/defensive dominating and ultimately just entertainment, marketing and fashion for the NBA.  Every single kid back then wanted to "Be Like Mike", moves and tongue out on the court along with the sweatband up high on the one forearm and the knee sleeve around the calf.   He upped the level of the game at every level.   If that's not changing the game, then I don't know what is.
