he once shot 18 on a par 72, 7900 yard course.Man. Your dad sounds like a baller.
Active - Steph Curry
Good leader, solid fundamental player, unselfish, high BBIQ, doesn't generate unneeded drama, championship pedigree
Even when the Warriors were losing and had seasons of no hope, Curry played the game the right way. Even if a game was out of reach, he'd still move relentlessly off the ball and push the pace of the game.
Recent Modern Era - Tim Duncan, Steve Nash, Grant Hill
Jordan Era - Hakeem Olajuwon
If you could build a team starting from scratch and you had to pick just one player, lots of GM's would pick Curry, Duncan and The Dream over LBJ.
A major problem with the LBJ legacy is he becomes the defacto GM wherever he goes. LeGM is an idiot. LBJ the player has to compensate and burn the candle on both ends to make up for the massive flaws of LeGM aka LeQuit aka LeThargic aka LeMao. Then the sports media sells this tragic victim story about how LBJ gets no help and he has to do it all by himself. Of course you do when you take over running a team's personnel and you cap out the team with useless past their prime veterans and overpaid players who don't fit.
All of LBJ's rings are tainted in some way. Without the Birdman amnesty and the labor war that shortened a season, I don't know if the Heat win those two rings. People might say that's crazy but even with three good defenders in the Big Three Heatles, you still need actual rim protection. LBJ decided that he needed Juwan Howard on that bench. Big Z too. So a player Spolestra liked, the fringe roster guy Patrick Beverley, got cut. Then there was the "Nike ring" where the refs just cooked the Warriors. Nike gave LBJ a lifetime contract and wanted some ROI. That's it. Then there was the "Pandemic Ring" where 8 teams disappeared and the shortened one location season benefited older veteran teams who didn't have to grind a regular 82 game schedule plus travel.
LBJ doesn't suck, he's still a generational level player. But there is zero reason he shouldn't have 10 rings if he simply played the game like The Big Fundamental, The Dream and Wardell. Just stuck to one Eastern team, got a good GM like Morey and got out of the way and let a real experienced personnel guy build a team the right way and the organic way.
It should indicate the level of stupidity that exists in LeQuit that he tried to get Erik Spolestra fired. The best coach he's ever played for is someone he wanted gone. Even Kobe Bryant, another psychopathic nimrod in his own right, wasn't dumb enough to keep trying to push Phil Jackson out the door over and over. Spolestra is an incredible coach and smart players understand to lock into a coach they know can get them over the top. Wardell isn't trying to LeGM away a good coach in Kerr. Duncan was not going to be a diva and drive away Poppovich.
LeMao represents wasted opportunity. When you have that much talent, you aren't supposed to get in your own way. What TEAM success LBJ has had came about DESPITE his massive abilities. I'm not talking about individual success. LBJ can't win a ring going 1 Vs 5 for an entire season.
Billion dollar talent. Nickel sized brain.

Also never forget in 2016 when Lebron James failed to meet the Undertaker who waited an hour to meet Lebron outside the Cle locker room. The excuse given by some knucklehead Cle writer was Lebron didn't feel the meeting was genuine and doesn't like others profiting off his name. Meanwhile it was widely reported that The Cavs were doing a Wrestling theme night and promoting a WWE show at the Cavs home arena the next right or a PPV. They had a few WWE talent there including Undertaker. WWE doesn't need to profit off of Lebron by any means. The fact that Lebron, his reps or the writer would think that is naive and pretty selfish. They were there in part because the Cavs org asked them to come. Lebron is employee by the Cavs. If any of these owners had balls and Lebron pulled a stunt like that he'd be getting a talking too in the office and fined for not fully participating.
BTW Hou Rockets did this with WWE (Undertakers Hometown) and he met Jose Altuve. Altuve was incredible happy to meet The Undertaker and the Rockets players had a lot of fun with the promotion too. Lebron seems more busy trying to promote what he wants and equal rights but failing to acknowledge the slave labor and human right violations the company that makes his shoes are a part of. I know wrestling isn't for everyone but almost everyone know Who The Undertaker is and would gladly meet the guy.

WiTF is an undertaker??? This can't be a serious post.Nah nah, this is good. Let em go, they're on a roll.Guys, we’re not even close to the playoffs yet.
He was a professional wrestler who quite literally rose from the dead in the middle of matches. LeBron must have seen him carrying his urn and got scared.![]()

I think I like Lebron more

2021-22 NBA Thread: Board poster writes out 800-word explanation about how Lebron James couldn’t play in Jon Koncack’s era
It’s so stupid.
I am open to suggestions on this one. Each year, the Celtics (by way of TD Garden) email out a Cyber Monday deal where you can get discounted Club or Suite seats. I have purchased those seats several times over the years and did so again yesterday. Clicking on the link in the originally email about the promo sends you to Ticketmaster with access to the specially priced tickets for insiders / subscribers (which don't show up otherwise) with the discount code applied. I completed the purchase just like I did several other times. Shows up on my credit card as a ticket purchase from TD Garden. So far, so good.
Got an email order summary and invoice from TD Garden through a Ticketmaster email address outlining the completed transaction. However there is no QR code, no link to the tickets, and no order or transaction number. When I log into my TD Garden and Ticketmaster accounts, there is no listing that I have any tickets to any Celtics games. Neither place is actively taking live customer service phone calls. I emailed and received notification that ticketing issues cannot be resolved by email and the box office is closed and not accepting phone calls. To which I say rhetorically . . . WTF are you supposed to do then?
Thanks. That would probably work. My tickets eventually showed up in my account. Apparently they are not instantly forwarded. Took 24 hours to get listed.Did you try using the official Celtics app? If not, I would download the app and tie it to the same email account that you used for the tickets. This is the way it works for the Bucks anyway - you have to have the official Bucks app to accept tickets. An associated Ticketmaster account may be used to access/transfer the tickets once "accepted" but you have to use the Bucks NBA app to accept tickets from the email.
You misspelled Jon Koncak's name. Mediocre legal minds usually lack attention to detail.
Great players make adjustments as they get older. Tim Grover pointed out to Jordan that he couldn't keep taking the punishment at the rim as he aged, so he worked with him to develop a fadeaway jump shot that was always preceded by the free contact that the refs always gave Jordan. His Airness would shove his defender then use his fadeaway. Jordan learned to abuse other guards ( in the pre Jumbo Wing era) in the low post. The shot selection changed to move further away from the rim with time.
Defensively with Ron Harper in tow and Harper joining the conditioning program Grover built for Jordan and Pippen, his Airness would shift away from being the occasional top defensive cover and even away from the top second defensive cover, to save his stamina for offense. Rodman, Pippen and Harper would buy Jordan energy to overwhelm teams with his offense. But the defensive effort, team concept and high IQ play was always there.
LBJ has made no adjustments. He's still a coach killer who is the de facto GM that is sold on aging "brand name" players over functional role players who fit inside a larger system. He still relies on trying to overpower people with Hero Ball while demoralizing his teammates as being nothing more than bail out shooters.
Part of the transition from the Jordan Rules and the need to overcome the Bad Boy Pistons was that his Airness had to understand he needed Bill Cartwright, even if he hated him. And he needed to let Paxton help him space the floor. And he needed to reward Horace Grant in transition from time to time because he need Grant to stay in the game and invest in it emotionally to do all the dirty work in the trenches.
Must have been frustrating for Chris Bosh on the Heat. Taking constant blame for the team build failures but dramatically changing his game ( playing pivot and learning how to be an effective floor spacer) while Wade and LBJ stayed stagnant ( Wade refuses to drop weight to help his nagging injury problem and refused to develop an effective three point shot and refused to stay committed defensively. LBJ demanded the Heat sign Haslem and Mike Miller to mid tier money extensions but had no money left for effective rim protection. If LBJ wanted to sign guys who couldn't defend the rim, then he needed to bite the bullet to do it himself. )
The reason LBJ wanted Spolestra fired was because the young coach wanted a more free flowing offense that would be more effective against the top Western teams. Coasting by the weaker Eastern Conference and making the Finals wasn't the problem. But the top teams in the West, like the Spurs , you couldn't get away with an alternating heliocentric type offense. Pat Riley had to force a compromise. LBJ and Wade had to do what Spolestra wanted defensively, in exchange they could run their offense as they saw fit. Which they did and had a nightmare of a time against the Mavericks and Spurs.
Father Time is undefeated. If you don't make adjustments as you age in the NBA, then you are refusing to play the deeper game within the game. If you don't want to play that part of the game, then it's too bad, because Father Time will end up playing you whether you like it or not.
LBJ won the genetic lottery but you need more than just winning the physical/athleticism aspect of the genetic lottery to maximize your talent. What made Magic Johnson and Larry Bird so transcendent is they understood there are times you have to humble yourself at the altar of the Basketball Gods, or you will be forcibly humbled eventually.
If you have a problem with someone, come right at them. Passive aggressive shots with the thread title is bush league. Seriously dude, is this the kind of stuff you teach your kids? Children learn and emulate what they see everyday, not what you tell them. When I see people doing loser entitled Karen type flailing, I just shake my head and tell myself I that I just feel sorry for their kids. If you have a problem with someone, get right in their face. Being cowardly should not be celebrated.
I really wish the Wolves would have signed him and no, I don't know all the cap rules so I don't know if they could if they had wanted to. KAT and Naz Reid are both more finesse than bangers, and it shows when the opposing center gets 16 offenseive rebounds every game.Boogie likely to make his Bucks debut tomorrow night. Giggity.
Yeah, depending on Brook's health, I don't know that the Bucks will keep him beyond the guarantee date in early January, but in the meantime, it'll be nice having his big body to absorb some of the punishment that Giannis and Bobby have been taking while playing out of position at center.I really wish the Wolves would have signed him and no, I don't know all the cap rules so I don't know if they could if they had wanted to. I'll have to go back and check the tape. Did he actually say that he was vaccinated, or did he just say that he was immunized?Lebron with covid. Out indefinitely. Unvaxxed?

I thought it was obvious I wasn’t referring to you; your posts are more like 3500 words.
Also it’s ok to laugh a little here man. It’s supposed to be a fun thread, I don’t know why you’re always so serious. Most of us are just here to crack jokes.
Lebron with covid. Out indefinitely. Unvaxxed?
Not hard. If you have a problem with DJackson10, then get right in his face. Don't take a passive aggressive shot at him by cooking a thread title so the entire FFA can see it. It's cowardly.
Say the person's name, get right in their face, make your confrontation known. Just like this. Exactly like this.
It's disrespectful and it's yellow bellied. Your excuses mean nothing to me. I don't know exactly how you pulled this off, you managed to be incompetent at being a bully. Is this what you teach your kids?
Think he got it. Probably JJ.I'll have to go back and check the tape. Did he actually say that he was vaccinated, or did he just say that he was immunized?
Yeah, depending on Brook's health, I don't know that the Bucks will keep him beyond the guarantee date in early January, but in the meantime, it'll be nice having his big body to absorb some of the punishment that Giannis and Bobby have been taking so far in Brook's absence.
Their loss.Bucks will likely be 5th-6th in line for ring chasers.
I feel like you are setting yourself up for disappointment.Boogie likely to make his Bucks debut tomorrow night. Giggity.
It is!Isn't it "Koncak," asked that niggling little voice from decades ago?

lol that would be too funny but it would still make ben simmons depressedMy goal is to have a mistake in every thread title going forward, like a little Easter egg.
