Who do you think his likely compare would have been in the 80s or 90s?
Worst case: Abdul-Rauf with more injuries

Sure he could be that player.... he just would be wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy easier to guard on the perimeter. Put a hand on his hip and shove him around like we used to.
So "couldn't play" is obviously too strong, but he isn't super durable and he would get out physical'd over the course of a season.

It is honestly hard to say... he wouldn't be allowed to exist in his current form.
Take an off the dribble 30 foot jumper? Benched.
He wouldn't last long trying to drive.
So how would he do being a 3 point specialist who gets the ball out of designed plays? Who would that be? A smaller Steve Kerr or Hornacek? More athletic than those guys but really that is neutralized by his size.

As has been pointed out, the Bucks signing Cousins is about Brook Lopez being injured since the opening game. There is no timetable for his return, but they do expect him to come back and play this season. We know Giannis is much more effective with one other big man on the Court. For now, they only have Bobby Portis in that role and he's somewhat out of place. They tried using Thanasis, Ojeleye and the rookie Mamukelashvili in that role and none of them were remotely effective. The NBA regular season is nearly meaningless. The goal for a team like the Bucks is to finish in the top 4 or so in the East and be healthy when the playoffs start. Cousins is a big man who can play 10-15 minutes and bridge the gap until Lopez is healthy. The Bucks have had an open roster spot all season and have now filled it with a very inexpensive non-guaranteed contract that may help them for 10 days or may be a player who finds a role for the rest of the season. That's all it is.

Super fun game last night at the Fiserv. Felt like a playoff game. I really like this Charlotte squad...they're young, athletic, and swaggy. I wouldn't want any part of them in a first-round playoff series, not because I don't think the Bucks wouldn't beat them, but just because they'd take so much out of you. Lots of really nice pieces with LaMelo (cocky AF), Bridges (and his hanging mouthguard), Oubre (WTF with that hair), Rozier, and even Mr. Overpaid himself, Gordon Hayward. They're severely lacking any kind of interior presence, and that was ultimately their downfall, but they play with great tempo, and they can definitely score the ball.
For the Bucks, another great game and near triple-double by Giannis
with 40-12-9 including the game-winner, and a solid debut by Boogie (7 points and 4 rebounds on 3/5 shooting), who was +9 in 14 minutes off the bench. And now we know why they signed him when they did, because the team announced today that Brook Lopez had back surgery today and is out indefinitely. I'm sure it was something where they were hoping it would heal with rest, and it didn't, so they were forced to do the surgery. What's frustrating (in hindsight) is that they could've done it six weeks ago. More small-ball lineups, I guess...

A coach would never have let him do what he does. There wasn't even a 3 point shot. Those 30 foot bombs, even if they go in at a 50% clip, they count the same as a layup. I think he would adjust easily to the contact, but without those bombs being worth 1 extra point each time, it wouldn't work in the pre-3 point era. Nobody would even guard him beyond 20 feet.

Saying Curry wouldn't be a stud in the 80's or 90's is ludicrous.
- Shooting ALWAYS translates and he is the greatest shooter of all time
- He's a phenomenal ball handler and passer
- His off the ball movement is insanely difficult to guard
- His understanding of the game and work ethic are along the lines of the other all-time greats

You don't think Curry could be at least as good as Cousy, West, Goodrich or Greer? Can't know for sure, but I'm confident he'd be at least as good as each of them and likely better.
Of course he wouldn't play exactly the same, but he could do what each of those guys did on offense at least as well and probably better.

I'm a pretty healthy individual. I've talked to my doctor who just only has said get the booster I don't really have the time to research every little article a lot of these websites have a ton of biases with their info do to an agenda. If I have any questions my dr there is for anything.

I think Reggie Miller said it best last year or two years ago. The defense when he played compared to Step was way more physical and guys were more up in your face. I think one thing he got right is Steph wouldn't have the easy uncontested shots he always has now because how much more facegaurding and stuff was let go. Players could foul harder without a risk of a flagrant and such consequences. Doesn't mean Steph wouldn't have been good in those eras but what I think Miller was saying his opportunities on those shots is more limited

Curry is 2 inches taller and 20-25 lbs heavier than Abdul-Rauf was. And he’s a far better shooter (don’t get me wrong, I love Rauf). So worst case, he’s Rauf.
Mark Price had a really good career. How is Curry worse than Mark Price? I just don’t see the Hornacek and Kerr comparisons.

I don't see the correlation to any of them honestly. You were pressing for it, so I gave a couple names. Like I said - he couldn't exist pre analytics.
I could see him getting benched often and missing a lot of games to injury. Or he changes his game so much he becomes one of these players limited to shooter roles.

All we are doing is proving that these arguments are silly. Nobody shot 3s like Curry in the 80s and 90s because nobody could shoot threes like him back then. They couldn’t do that because they didn’t grow up with a 3 pt line and long distance shooting didn’t make sense. It’s circular. If Curry had been born in 1960 he would have figured something out. You can’t take the player out of the era. Everyone is a product of their environment.
