And now we know why they signed him when they did, because the team announced today that Brook Lopez had back surgery today and is out indefinitely. I'm sure it was something where they were hoping it would heal with rest, and it didn't, so they were forced to do the surgery. What's frustrating (in hindsight) is that they could've done it six weeks ago. More small-ball lineups, I guess...
