2021 College football thread - Auburn’s gotta Auburn. (2 Viewers)

:blowsout:

That was hard to watch.  Like men against boys.  Was always concerned about the run D but didn’t anticipate Ridder having a complete meltdown.

Oh well.  Has still been a hell of a run.  Two straight undefeated regular seasons and an ###-whipping of ND on the road.  I’ll take it.

Reverse jinx ahead.

I actually like UGA in the rematch.  Even with Saban >>> Kirby, I think UGA defense will adjust and slow Bama down some.  Bennett will have to not turn it over.

“Well I guess it’s over. Ohio still sucks”

dying at him just coming to the realization now that it’s over

edit: he was referencing Ohio State here, he simply calls them Ohio, but he also thinks Ohio sucks

Is that for real???

What is this about, backstory PLEASE!
He absolutely hates Ohio state, and therefore, the state of Ohio and its citizens.

when he told me that I told him my wife (his cousin) literally went to Florida (fsu guy in case you don’t know) and he said oh I couldn’t do that.

Oh yea early in the game he said the refs wanted Georgia to win and I said why, Michigan has way more money. Never got a response.
As a Michigan fan I hate fans like this.  Always excuses, blame refs, ran out of time, etc.. sometimes you’re just outclassed and out coached.  I didn’t even pay enough attention to see if the latter part mattered.  Georgia was simply better everywhere

Lmfao he may actually kill me. He hates Ohio. He has purposely driven around Ohio instead of driving through it before.
I mean Ohio sucks but it’s not like driving through Indiana, Wisconsin or Canada is any better…at least not worth taking extra time

Jesus F'n Christ, that is nuts/great, both, and scary just the same. :lmao:    Yep, they're out there alright!

I am curious - did anyone really think Cincinnati had a chance in this game?
Yes. I especially didn’t think Ridder would completely forget how to play after 50 starts.  He looked like a different person all together than I’ve watched for 4 years. No composure. Missing every throw. Confused by every coverage. Tucked and took a sack at the first sign of any pressure. More batted down passes than the whole season combined. Dropped passes by the WR. The worst the Bearcats have played in years.

Well that’s extreme.

But FTR I gas ⛽️ up at the last exit in PA or Monroe, MI coming back. Absolutely no reason to pay the Ohio gas tax. Or contribute, even tangentially, to their economy.

Congrats on a great season, they earned their shot for sure. I was really worried about this game with your style of play. The difference obviously was size and strength of the lines. Fickell is a great coach and think he’ll continue this momentum.

Yeah me too unfortunately. Bama has lost too many players, including ones from the Georgia game the previous time out. Metchie’s absence was felt. No RB depth. CBs out. I think Georgia gets their revenge.

By worst, you mean got owned by the best defense they've played in years?

Or, Ridder choked for the first time after "50 starts"?

This is the same Bearcats team who planted their flag AT #9 Notre Dame, mind you.  Ridder shined on that stage, in arguably a more "hostile environment" than yesterday's neutral field.

So what's the rub on "the worst the Bearcats have played in years"?  Ridder lost it or the rest of the team couldn't handle?

Nice congratulatory post but the "momentum" is a reach, let's be honest, that's a pat-on-the-back is all.  Ceiling is what that was.  Keep it going?  Maybe.  Beat the Big Boy$?  No chance.

A very high peak at that, so props to Cinci on one hell of a run, but a two touchdown underdog getting run out of the building isn't taking the next step as far as college football in 2020's is concerned.  Alabama, Clemson, LSU, and a few others whose cash bags fall on the right doorsteps are in complete control.  No one player, or class even, will change that.

Awesome season though, congrats to Cinci.  That's what the non T-shirt fans are left with.  Believe me, I would've loved them to win it, but it's so, so far away, there's no reason to even hope for it.

So Corporation, were you "really worried" for real?  Because I can't buy that, even with the injuries.

It'll be interesting for sure. I do love the rematch angle of it. I know some folks would like to see new blood but I also like to see this too.

Yesterday's two games were a great picture of why I think Lincoln Riley is in California now. When Tennessee and South Carolina are the weak teams on the schedule, that's a rough go.

It’s going to be a game no doubt. We’ll flip the game plan back to tempo…which is pretty amazing to have the ability to do.

Ultimately I don’t think the UGA O can keep up with Bryce and Co.

Are you serious? PA has the highest gas tax in America. The only saving grace in going to Ohio is paying 20-30 cents less per gallon.

People accept the inferior play and crappy coaching because they care about the jerseys and the colors and nothing else. No other system has a chance to work. Nobody would care about the Michigan Foxes or whatever.
It won’t ever happen, but if they wanted to privatize these big teams I don’t think it would be hard to keep the school names, colors and tie-ins through licensing agreements. It could be almost exactly the same from a fan’s perspective, only without the illusion of the amateur student athlete.

It was a joke, bro. I don't actually take into consideration which state I'm in before pumping. But if anyone does, here you go.

@Capella's cousin reminded me of Woody Hayes telling a story about how he was on fumes when he his pickup coasted into Toledo. He was coming back from a recruiting trip and it was below E, the assistant riding with him was pleading he stop, but he said there's no way he is going to support Michigan's budget. When they repeated that story to Bo Schembechler he deadpanned "Well of course, makes sense - you'll never catch me filling up in Ohio."

I named my oldest after the Michigan HC, but that doesn't mean I'm completely insane.
