2021 Philadelphia Eagles - Queued up a playlist of our greatest zits throughout the season for final game (4 Viewers)

Yeah I don’t think they will bench him. But if they lose these next two easy games you never know.

haha, yea, it's fair to be concerned. but after they released huntley, i'm fairly certain their qb situation will remain status quo for the year. but as u say, you never know.

 
Aikman contemplating that Wentz will sit early in the second half if this gets out of hand. Save some snap % towards the pick.

Yeah thats been Carson over the years. I compared him after seeing him in college as a gun slinger type mentality similar to Brett Favre. Scouting reports showed that too. Not gonna take that mentality out of the QB no matter how many times you try. He's a gambler and its something you need to live with. What I meant was he's not the reason they are losing games is he's playing pretty well. Yes he had two costly picks but have you seen what he's playing with around him? Both their starting Safeties are out one done for the year and their secondary overall has half the starter out. The Offensive line is terrible at times. Carson for his part has played well enough to keep them in games. I'd rather take my chances on a QB like that over one with deer in headlights, weak arm, etc. 

They should've easily handled Baltimore but Reich and company took their foot off the pedal and the Kicker got hurt. Once they lost two guys in the secondary that game Lamar went off. Lamar was lost and didn't look like he should be a starting NFL QB before those injuries. 

They just aren't benching Wentz no matter what.

I've noticed how Aikman is way more complementary of Carson now he's off the Eagles. Whenever he complimented Wentz on the Eagles he looked like he was struggling with it. 

We're at like 98-99% with 4 more games to make this official. SO honestly sitting him tonight wouldn't put much of a dent if out of hand. 

 
If Watson doesn’t get charged criminally and settles the claims - Eagles should be all in on trying to trade for him in the offseason.

texans need to lower their asking price but two firsts is more than fair.

I'd say it's looking worse every week. A mid first for a quality starting QB? I realize Carson was no longer happy in Philly but looks to me like Colts got a deal as he's playing pretty well overall

I bet he's hurt or back to turning it over or taking sacks before they win anything that matters.   He totally melted down in the game last week.  That's the real carson

 
i admit i am still on the wentz bandwagon, it feels like it's PTSD having played behind the Philly o-line last year. or the David Carr syndrome. imo he's looking better as the season goes on and after this season i think he becomes a legit QB1 with better/healthier receivers next year.

Every week he plays well it looks worse IMO. Also we need to see who we get with that pick. If it’s a Barnett and he keeps looking this good than the trade is a colossal failure.

By all accounts he will only approve a deal to Miami since he has a no trade clause. Until that changes it won’t matter.

I mean I don't think we'd have traded for him if he didn't demand out. We sold low, for sure - and I guess we coulda played hardball?  The team wanted to avoid a prolonged holdout and granted the wee baby his request.

sure, it was an amicable resolution by then and absolutely the team really had no choice. the problem started prior to this trade though... i won't say what even since that'll just replay the last 20 pages of this thread and none of us need another five pages of responses on that lol. I'll keep rooting for the guy and him being gone means this team can continue to assess and evolve too so not a terrible thing to see him succeed elsewhere. it was un unreconcileable marriage.

It looks worse. We kept the wrong QB but at the same time we let the wrong coach leave in Reich. I really didn't want to believe people who thought we won a SB solely because of Frank Reich and wanted to believe Doug was a good coach. But after some of the stuff I'd heard about who was really involved with certain stuff for big moments and all you can clearly see Reich was the master behind the scenes and Doug was more of just the guy in front who got the credit. 

The only good thing out of this deal is our 1st rounder we are getting from the Colts. Hopefully we can draft our Franchise QB with that.

Watson apparently has the Eagles on his no trade list. Even if he's cleared I don't want him. I've heard things in the past about this guy behind the scenes didn't want to believe them but with these cases it just makes those claims look better. I say were there's smoke theres fire. I don't want anything to do with Watson. 

I'd rather we draft our own QB with one of the picks use the other first rounders to add talent where needed. Get a guy with way less baggage

I agree with this. This isn't a situation like some others wanting out. There was legit reasons he wanted to go and anyone who looked at this with an unbiased opinion will agree he was right. Some of the stuff I hear or read online from fans making comments is borderline ridiculous and can tell they hate the guy when they are reaching with repeating debunked rumors too. 

I'm at the point those who feel that way about Wentz you aren't going to change no matter how much key facts you have. You could give them all the facts, all your sources etc and they would still act like you made it up, fake news etc and it becomes like the political stuff where despite all the facts you give people they'll just call it fake news or Whatever. I'm happy with the info I received on this over the last several months from people in the know who were either there, know guys personally involved etc who gave completely different sides of the whole situation while knowing that most of the people upset probably just heard some hot takes on the local sports radio or some dumb blogger out with an agenda. I'll proudly wear both my Colts and Eagles Wentz jerseys and if people want to call me not a diehard fan so be it. I'll just laugh knowing they are probably a casual fan who will not root for the team if they are bad anyway and hope on whatever NFL team is great bandwagon for a few yrs. 

 
So according to Adam Scheftar Eagles have the required cap space to claim OBJ 

I'm guessing we are all in an agreement with he shouldn't be on the Eagles? 

Make this the obligatory dude just got released should the Eagles sign him post of the day.

Hell no don't want him.  Hasn't been relevant in years.  We have enough problems

I mean there is no scenario a team keeps the OC and fires the Head Coach after a Super Bowl win.  

Frank Reich is a very very good coach.  And I hate Josh McDaniels for turning the job down...but there is no way a team keep the OC there.

Well if he gets hurt like you're predicting, then it wouldn't be a good trade for us.

This trade seems like both sides won.  Indy absolutely won this trade if they're giving up a mid 1st for a guy that looks like a pretty good starting QB.  We won too since he didn't want to be here and it's looking like it will be a 1st rounder.

I know the scenario wouldn't have worked. I was more so hoping Reich would stay for a long time. The Eagles could've denied him the opportunity which they had done with Corey Udlin on more then one occasion

Honestly depends what he does with his career and how we use the pick and did we replace him correctly. If Wentz wins multiple MVPs and a SB or two and we get stuck in QB Pergatory then it's a terrible trade on us and Indy gets an elite QB for only 1 first.

jesus whats with you and 'multiple mvp's and a superbowl or two".  That's your benchmark for it being a bad trade for us, and also your benchmark for a 2nd round qb to be considered a good pick. 

 
Pitt and Philly were apparently close to a trade for Cox at the deadline but couldn't get it done. Eagles wanted a 3rd and Pitt didn't want to go there.

Eagles 27 Bolts 24

I don't like the idea of trading picks for Watson or Wilson. I would rather build around Hurts. If we build our offense around the run game I love Hurts in this situation. Hurts can't carry the team but he dang sure can win if let Hurts stay within his abilities.

I do like the idea of picking up OBJ off waivers. OBJ and Hurts could be a nasty combo. You almost saw it with Smith against the Falcons were Hurts just waits for Smith to make his cut and throws him open.

Hurts can win, but not a title likely.  That's a lot of investment for not winning a title.

As for OBJ, he will only report to a contender.  Getting him off waivers would be pointless and is not going to happen.

 

 
Philly fans. Goedert got a ton of looks last week and we'll over half the yards. Was that an aberation or is Goedert the go-to now?

It's REALLY hard to detect any patterns from this coaching staff. The trade of Ertz definitely helps Goedert. How much is likely to vary greatly from week to week.

I consider 2nd rounders to be guys who have the potential to be impact players. If Wentz becomes even a good top 10 QB and we get an avg guy it's still a bad trade. Guys like that shouldn't come that cheap 

Also I'm talking Wentz winning multiple MVPS and SBs since he was a top 2 pick when we drafted him.

Its a nice idea and all but Hurts is clearly showing he just not the guy. If we had an elite defense I'd say it's a good idea but we don't. I think we need to let Sirianni bring his own guy in and the fact of the matter is most of the people here weren't Hurts fans to begin with in the Org. He was drafted to appease the former HC no longer here. He was simple brought in for insurance incase Wentz missed time. It didn't work Hurts ended up HAVING TO BE THE GUY NOW and most of the staff doesn't see him being said guy. I'd rather let them bring in a guy THEY WANT not keep working with a guy they clearly don't think is it and has shown at times he's just not a viable option without a lot of Ifs going his way.

Eagles allowed 70% completion for a league high 7th time today. They are three off last year’s total, with 8 games left. NFL record is 11 games by 2018 Bucs

 
Offense looked good. Defense had moments but ultimately not good enough. We need DE and CB in this next draft. Desperately.

Update after Herbert’s 84% today: 

First 88 Eagles seasons: 8 times

First 9 games this season: 5 times

At one point Herbert completed 22 of 23 passes to 9 different WRs.
