Wizards can say no.wait, did i read that bradley beal, by opting out, is now eligible to make $50mm a year over 5 years? if that is the case, just fold the nba and start from scratch.

Apparently there are some weird “base year compensation” rules that make salary matching difficult/impossible for this construct.Ayton plus plus plus plus maybe another plus for KD
@kevkage_
Sources: Kevin Durant initially had the LA Lakers on his list of preferred destinations but Rob Pelinka’s unwillingness to include Talen Horton-Tucker in any potential deal put an end to trade discussions.
They couldn't get to salary without including Westbrook any way and I really doubt the Nets would consider that the best deal they could get.Pelinka is an idiot. THT is not all that.

Free agent Jalen Brunson intends to sign a four-year, near $110M deal with the New York Knicks in free agency, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium. The Mavericks never received chance to make offer, sources said.
Why wait an hour, right?
They will try, at least.Navin Johnson said:What are they going to put in the CBA that stops players from doing this? The owners could stop it now under the current agreement if they had any backbone.
Try what? Codify not giving in to player demands? Something tells me that won't passThey will try, at least.
Last year Zach Lowe mentioned some ideas the owners had been workshopping prompted by the Ben Simmons situation. I don’t recall the specifics, and highly doubt they’ll be able to eliminate this kind of behavior. But you are nuts, IMO, if you think the owners will just throw up their hands and roll over on this.Try what? Codify not giving in to player demands? Something tells me that won't pass
You are nuts if you think the players will sign on with HUGE concessions from the owners. And even then, it will come down to agents/owners/players not finding loopholes to circumvent it. This is a self control problem.Last year Zach Lowe mentioned some ideas the owners had been workshopping prompted by the Ben Simmons situation. Good thing I didn’t say that the players would sign off on it or that it would successfully stop this behavior, then. Nevertheless, it will be a contentious part of the CBA negotiations.You are nuts if you think the players will sign on with HUGE concessions from the owners. BREAKING: Memphis Grizzlies F Jaren Jackson Jr., underwent surgery to repair a stress fracture in his right foot on Wednesday and is expected to be sidelined for 4-to-6 months, sources tell ESPN. Jackson is expected to make a full recovery.
Will the NBAPA then ask for the same conditions on teams not being able to trade a player after signing them to a max deal? Loyalty isn’t just a one way street.NBA needs a rule that if you sign a max/super max deal, you can’t be dealt for at least 2, maybe 3 years. i mean, durant’s contract hasn’t even kicked in…..
The tricky part in this situation is how would you legislate against a player simply requesting a trade. Durant hasn’t sat out any games at this point to punish him for.Last year Zach Lowe mentioned some ideas the owners had been workshopping prompted by the Ben Simmons situation. He doesn’t have a no trade clause, so I’m not so sure on that. Probably the most valuable trade piece in NBA history given he’s got 4 years left.Marks really wasting his time talking about these Durant trade destinations. KD just has to say "I'm not going there"....and he's not going there.
Really doesn't matter if he does or not. Players control the league.He doesn’t have a no trade clause,
I’ve heard people raving about the four years left on his contract like that is the most valuable commodity in league history. The Nets on the same contract had him signed for five years and got one season out of it. There is no guarantee that KD’s new team will have him for four years. He could demand a trade again this time next year if things don’t go according to plan.He doesn’t have a no trade clause, so I’m not so sure on that. Probably the most valuable trade piece in NBA history given he’s got 4 years left.
