I feel like Anthony Davis is a huge part of it. I legit forgot that he was on the team last night. For a guy that has so much talent—it’s almost like he looks for ways to be invisible on the basketball court. Lebron played well, I thought even Westbrook showed some flashes of life, Rui had moments—but that entire game—it was like Davis should have been on “missing persons” posters. I feel like they can be a back end playoff team if he steps up and plays his game. If he continues to disappear—the Lakers probably don’t even make the play in tourney.Sucks Lebron is stuck on such a crap team. Of course it’s a prison of his own making, but it still sucks all the same.
I mean they stopped the game for 30 minutes when Cal got his record. As amazing as his streak was it's not close to being the NBA all-time leading scorer.
They hate Lebron and no matter what he does they’ll find some way to poke at it. It’s hilarious.
AD is their best player. He is a 1st team all-NBA level player when healthy and involved.I feel like Anthony Davis is a huge part of it. I legit forgot that he was on the team last night. Oh yea I was referring more to social media in general which was very toxic this morning. Sorry if that wasn’t clear.I mean they stopped the game for 30 minutes when Cal got his record. As amazing as his streak was it's not close to being the NBA all-time leading scorer.

If I remember correctly Ghostguy is a very big LeBron fan. For the record I am not a LeBron fan and I don't think there was anything wrong with last night.
It was 11 minutes. And nobody liked McgwireI was at the game when Mcgwire hit number 62.
The celebration lasted for him to run around the bases and then make one curtain call out of the dug out. Whole thing didn't take even 10 minutes before the next pitch was thrown.

I think Davis has the potential to be their best player—but he’s been nothing short of trash this season. Stats might say one thing—but if you just watch the Lakers play—this season—his impact on the court has been far and few between. I don’t think the Lakers are game planning away from him. If he’s as good as most think he is—he needs to be an alpha and just command that his presence be felt. He just seems to go through the motions. I personally think he’s one of the most talented players in the league. At the same time—I think he’s one of the most disappointing players in the league.AD is their best player. LBJ is still playing at a high level, but the Lakers need to center their games around Davis to be at their best and have a chance to win in the playoffs.

The celebration lasted for him to run around the bases and then make one curtain call out of the dug out. Whole thing didn't take even 10 minutes before the next pitch was thrown.
Play was stopped for 11 minutes as McGwire and 49,987 fans at Busch Stadium soaked up the moment. After McGwire's St. Louis Cardinals defeated the Cubs, 6-3, Major League Baseball Commissioner Bud Selig conducted an on-field ceremony
Fortunately all Laker games are meaningless this yearWhy? It's a really big deal and this is a relatively meaningless early February game.Stopping the game for this tribute is freaking dumb.
Get the ball away, take a 20 second little thing, and do this after the game.

my pop and i watched this and my dad was a huge hank aaron fan and could see what was coming with respect to his record as well and we all knew mac was a cheater i mean there wasnt much doubt by the time he broke this record and i remember both of us sighing and being sad that a really educated baseball crowd of great fans in st louis was cheering for a guy that was a symbol of how steroids were ruining the game and destroying its history take that to the bank brohansIt was 11 minutes. Congratulations to @KingJames
I'm really excited to see what happens when KD gets back. Good role players around him and Thomas and Claxton are starting to do some stuff. Let's see how far he bring a team on his own.Listening to Kyrie have the stones to say he felt disrespected by Brooklyn tells me he hasnt learned a thing. He'll be good to get his extension and then the clown show will be back. So glad hes gone
One byproduct of him leaving is being able to see what Cam can do - the kid is a bona fide scorer - between him, Claxton's development and the 2 new pieces - I dont see why they cant make a run when KD returns. I hope he takes on the challenge instead of the Nets making a dumb move to appease him (anyone remember the horrific Gerald Wallace trade to appease Derron Williams?) - if KD is not on board trade him in the offseason for the best package. I would not deal Cam or Claxton under any circumstances - they should be building around them.
Should be an interesting deadline
There is not one sports league that would not stop the game for a record like that. I didn't see the ceremony so maybe it was overblown but it was the "main event" of that game heading in - it's the reason most people were even watching the game. They hate Lebron and no matter what he does they’ll find some way to poke at it. It’s hilarious.
Yeah no shot this happens. And I'm as harsh on Ayton as anyone with his disappearing acts. Don't deal a quarter for 2 dimes.Rumors of a deal built around Wood/THJ/1st for Ayton (and I assume Crowder?)
THAT would be a deal I like. Which is why I also think it sounds insane and idk why the Suns would go near it unless theyve kept some real Ayton unhappiness mostly under wraps. But...new owner syndrome could be in play.
We're already screwedifwhen Kyrie doesn't pan out. May as well toss Ayton into it too so when Luka leaves, either Ayton didn't work out and it's tankathon time before 2029 or maybe it works super well with Ayton.
This is regular season games. I don't know why this is the record and not total games played.Games
Parish – 1611; 2. Kareem – 1560; 3. Carter – 1541; 4. Nowitzki – 1522; 5. Stockton – 1504; 10. James – 1410; 42. Iguodala – 1226
Estimate: End of 22-23 – 1430 (9th all time); End of 23-24 – 1492 (6); End of 24-25 – 1554 (3); end of 25-26 – 1616 (1)
He can’t pass Parish until 25-26 – depending on games played each season, it could happen as soon as the first quarter of the 25-26 season. If he is exceedingly healthy next season, he could pass Stockton for #5. With the incredible health Lebron has had, the current league climate with rest, and the fact that there are no preps-to-pros players right now, there is nobody else currently playing that has any chance to top Lebron unless he retires after this season.
And MVP is a four-man race between Jokic, Embiid, Giannis & Doncic. No one else has a realistic shot without going on a historical run the rest of the year. Curry is maybe only one I consider actually capable of such a thing. Tatum, Morant & Mitchell are already playing about as well as could be expected and are on the outside looking in. LBJ and KD are just too old and worn down at this point to go on that kind of sustained run.
If I had to bet, I'd put my money on this order at season's end:
There is still a lot of games left though and all 4 have a shot to make it happen. Adding Kyrie has the ability to swing Luka to the top or the bottom of the list and I think they do figure out a rhythm but it will be too little too late to get Luka to MVP status.
- Jokic
- Giannis
- Doncic
- Embiid
The game where Steph Curry broke the 3 point record was stopped for several minutes—and that was on the road in Madison Square Garden. Ray Allen and Reggie Miller were both there—and the celebration took place right when Curry hit the record breaking shot. I feel like that celebration easily took 5-10 minutes—and this is a far greater record than that. Just seems odd that nobody seemed to care about how that celebration was handled.Stopping the game for this tribute is freaking dumb.
Get the ball away, take a 20 second little thing, and do this after the game.it’s probably the nba’s most important individual record. They stop baseball games when Rickey Henderson sets stolen base records.
People truly will find a way to complain about anything with this guy.

If Lew had been able to enter the NBA out of high school…..different outcomei like the lebron captured the scoring title having played about 4000 minutes less than old lew thats pretty impressive take that to the bank brohans
Basketball Reference has the Top 5 MVP candidates as:And MVP is a four-man race between Jokic, Embiid, Giannis & Doncic. - Embiid
Draft Kings current odds are Jokic (-145), Embiid (+300), Giannis (+750), Doncic (+850), Tatum (+1200), everybody else +4500 or worse.
I think the odds are too kind to Embiid, Doncic, and the field. A little rough for Giannis, and way low for Jokic. I think the only way Jokic doesn't win at this point is if he has an injury that knocks him out for more than 10 games.
- Jokic is -140ish on the betting websites for a reason. He's averaging 24.7/11.3/10.2 on .706 TS for the best offense in the history of the NBA for the team that is running away with the Western Conference.
- Giannis has a slim outside chance - the Bucks and Giannis have been playing much better with Connaughton and Middleton back in the lineup. Connaughton was killing them when he first got back, but he's played much better in the new year. I think the betting odds are a bit behind here as the Bucks aren't getting the recognition the deserve the last month.
- If Embiid can significantly outmatch Jokic in late March when they play again, there might be a big narrative bump that gives him a chance but I think he's a bit of a sell high on the odds as the 76ers are kind of playing above their heads and Embiid just scored 40-whatever points on Jokic.
- I don't think Doncic has a shot any more. If he shares the ball with Irving (likely too the benefit of wins), his stats go down. If he doesn't share the ball more with Irving, the Mavs are going to either flounder or completely combust.
- Curry has zero chance of even getting back into the conversation. Nobody is going to give a player that ends up with fewer than 60 games played consideration. Even if he comes back in 5 or 6 games and averages 35 ppg on the best shooting of his career and the Warrior end the season with 50 wins or something (meaning they go 22-6 to close out the season INCLUDING the games he'll be out) he still won't have a case.

Russell has been quite good this year, but I like the Conley get for the Wolves. I really don't want D-Lo on a long term deal after a career year(ish) contract year and Conley is signed for another year.I would prefer Conley if I was the Lakers. Russell is trash
now that i think about it that doesnt work because the college season is a lot shorter and it isnt against nba players so i dont know but its worth at least considering take that to the bankshot brohans2325i wonder how many points lew had in college
this is like a game me and my friends used to play back in the day and we would have an old brown paper bag from lunch full of maybe a banana peel and maybe a sanwhich curst and we would throw it at eachother shouting who wants the garbage so this is like a nba game of who wants the garbage but russell westbook is the garbage take that to the bank brochachosView attachment 3450

The Lakers, Jazz and Timberwolves are in discussions on a three-team deal that would send D’Angelo Russell to the Lakers, Russell Westbrook and draft compensation such as a first-round pick to Utah and Mike Conley Jr. to Minnesota, sources tell me and

Decent 3 point shooter. I think that's why they want him.
They're in panic mode trying to fill their albatross contract roster spot now that Westbrook's deal is expiring. So the Lakers are in the classic sell low buy high on DeAngelo?
