2nd straight season get to leave Suns final game to beat traffic home and home before game ends. :excited:

Congrats to Nuggets. Blowout not painful compared to last year's debacle. Nuggets are thr better team in every facet. TBH was surprised it even went 6.

Gonna be a long off-season in Phoenix. Monty's likely gone. Ayton will be gone if they can get anything useful for him. Think Paul and his partial guaranteed deal could be dealt as well.

Okay. I need everyone's help. I am in Reno and we are super drunk. I need Durant's fake Twitter accounts to troll him. He would be one of the most overrated players of all time if he didn't go to the Warriors.
Going to chalk this up to you being super drunk. Terrible post.

You know what doesn't get talked about enough? How Magic's retirement helped Jordan's legacy
It doesn't get talked about because it is not true.

The Pistons put the final nail in the coffin of Showtime, and then dispatched Portland the following year. The Bulls swept those same Pistons to put an end to the Bad Boys.

The 90-91 Western Conference was weak, and the Lakers were fortunate to run into a flat Portland team in the Conference Finals. Then in the Finals, they got steamrolled.

Portland was much stronger in the year of Magic's retirement, the Lakers would not have gotten past them again. The Bulls decimated that Portland team in the Finals.

Devin Booker in his 3 career elimination games (games his team was eliminated)

14p/2r/3a/4to on 31% shooting with a -84 +/-

He skipped out on the media session after the game today too.

Well tell me how you really feel.

Man are you are a salty (old?) dog. Had no idea. I like it. Just don't go all Judge Fails when you're wrong. TIA.

Back breaking loss. The sixers can win in Boston but damn it gonna be hard
Meh. Did it twice in this series. No reason they can't do it again.
so hard to read this series. I still can't believe how much of an egg the Sixers laid last night basically being given the game from Boston, and almost refusing to just take it. The stats in the 4th quarter for the Sixers can't get any worse, and the shooting percentage of the team can't get a ton worse either.

i also have to think we won't see a 1-16 showing from Tatum either. They should merge both teams and take the guys who actually wanted to win yesterday and let them go to the next round. If Marcus Smart didn't play like he did yesterday it is possible the 1st half would have been something like 40-33 Boston lead going into halftime.

glad they have 2 days to get ready for the game on Sunday. i have no idea if that will be good or bad for either team, but will try to think positively it will for the Sixers.

You know what doesn't get talked about enough? How Magic's retirement helped Jordan's legacy. In 1990-91 the Bulls beat the Lakers for their first title with Magic hobbled with a bad hammy and Byron Scott out. That year Magic averaged 19/13/7 and finished runner-up to Michael in the MVP vote. He was 31 but wasn't slowing down at all. The Lakers would have been bringing back the entire team who won 58 games that year, and Divac in his third year and Elden Campbell in his 2nd would be a year better with Magic/Worthy/Scott basically still in their late prime.

That Lakers team had been in four of the last five finals, winning 2, with magic having won 3 of the last 5 MVPs. There is no way the Bulls get that first 3-peat if Magic is still playing.

TL/DR Jordan is a fraud because Magic had to retire in his prime.
But wouldn't Michael Jordan have simply willed his team to beat them, like he did every other year of his career? Of course ignoring the first part of his career when he didn't make it to the finals (his willing his team to win only works in the finals).

Scott Foster, the "Extender" officiating tonight's game! Get your bets in.

Last 9 Heat games with Scott Foster (0-9)
5/2-at NY 111, Heat 105
3/28-at TOR 106, Heat 92
2/15-at BRK 116, Heat 105
12/5-at MEM 101, Heat 93
11/20-at CLE 113, Heat 87
10/21-BOS 111, at Heat 104
5/29/22-BOS 100, at Heat 96
5/23/22-at BOS 102, Heat 82
5/8/22-at PHI 116, Heat 108

You guys know my stance on refs and I give them the benefit of the doubt pretty much always.

This does not look good. Not sure why he would be anti-Heat, but Scott Foster W/L trends have been an issue way too often.

Joker feels like a substantially bigger Magic to me. Not for the flashy passes but just the way he dominates in so many ways and by simply getting his teammates the ball where they need it. I hope they or Lebron wins it.
Plenty of room on the bandwagon!
I'm not sure I've ever had a strong opinion about the Nuggets or one of their players in my entire life, but I'm going to be a huge Denver fan for the rest of the season.

it felt like they were going to squeak by until tatum finally woke up.
if the sixers play well early they can win. it feels like whatever team starts hot ends up winning

its funny i thought the same thing about merging the teams. both these teams are great but have some serious flaws. but man if they merged both these squads they would be unstoppable :pickle:

Idk. They did this too, I think it was last round. Chris Paul had like a 13 game L streak with Foster reffing his games, then he won. Do they do let it happen twice in 1 postseason?

Jokic in the Suns series put up a stat line of 34.5/13.2/10.3 on .594/.444/.854 shooting splits (.663 TS%) and a positive +/- in all 6 games.
He's a stud and one of the top 3 players in the world for 3 years straight. I hope he gets a couple of rings (but none at the expense of Boston) so we can talk about him in the upper echelons that he deserves.

I'd be shocked if this guy isn't involved in gambling somehow.

Let me toss in the caveat first that no other series outcomes from the past will have any impact on the outcome of Game 7 this year. That being said . . .

I looked up all the 7-game series going back to the NBA / ABA merger (45 years) to see how many times a team won 3 road games to advance. (That's what would need to happen for PHI to win the series.) It hasn't happened very often (but it has happened).

- In 2022, BOS beat MIA and won on the road in Game 7.
- In 2021, ATL beat PHI and won on the road in Game 7.
- In 2021, the road team won the first 6 games before LAC beat DAL at home in Game 7.
- In 2017, UTA beat LAC and won on the road in Game 7 (beating Doc Rivers' team).
- In 2005, IND beat BOS on the road in Game 7.
- In 1981, HOU beat SA on the road in Game 7.

Doris just can't get over her adoration for Tatum. Even tonight "he is contributing in other ways" as they highlight he has 3 turnovers to add to his struggles. I get sticking to your guns, but can't just keep pushing a narrative over and over
I had to go back and find this quote. I've read a handful of Celtic fan tweets saying the opposite about how Doris can't stop expressing love for Philly & Embiid.

I personally love Doris and enjoy her commentary for the most part. She gets a little to melodramatic about backstories sometimes, but overall is an incredibly knowledgeable and interesting commentator.

It was a joke. I am not even on Twitter, but we were super drunk.

I've always read 2 things about him.

1. He was apparently friends of some sort, at the least good business acquaintance with Donaghy.

2. None of the other current refs like the guy.

Not to nitpick the thread title because it's one of the best bits going on this board, but I'm thinking the restaurant should be changed to Cheesecake Factory. They don't have the best food in the world, but they make up for it by giving you a BUTTLOAD of it.
Fair, but isn’t their food tolerable? Been years since I’ve been there.
Yes, but only if you like salt and about 5000 calories per "meal".
I do not. But Applebees has to be worse. I remember going there when I was 20, with no taste or money and thinking holy hell this is bad.

It's been I don't know how long since I dined at Applebees, but when I was in my early 20s and travelling all over for work, there were places I had to visit where Applebees was about as good as I was going to get for food options. Their chicken Caesar salad wasn't terrible.

I never left a Cheesecake Factory without feeling like I was about to give birth.

somebody needs to rip the mic out of Marc(k) Jones's hands

yikes
He was really letting it fly last night. "Malcolm by any means necessary" when Brogdon scored, "21 can you do something for me" after a good Embiid play, and capping it off with "The two Jays smoking on that Philadelphia pack." :lmao::lmao: At first I found it cringeworthy, but upon reflection I think that was more entertaining than a bunch of complaining by Jeff Van Gundy or something.

Meh. Did it twice in this series. No reason they can't do it again.

Its uncomfortably similar to last season's EC semifinal for the Bucks - Celtics series. Milwaukee won game 1 in Boston, then split at home to go to 2-2; Bucks won the supposedly crucial game 5 in the Garden then came back home to close it out but ended up dropping two straight to lose the series 4-3.

But the refs are totally against Philly, so the cancel out.

Something about the way she pronounces her "S's" really bugs me. When she tries to pronounce "Seventy-Sixers" I halfway expect teeth to fall out of her mouth.
