2022 New York Football Giants (under new management of Schoen & Daboll) (1 Viewer)

Rest everyone Sunday. Call up the entire taxi squad and let them play. Give Eagles the number one seed. Niners beat a decimated Cardinals team. Giants head to Minnesota next week for a PLAYOFF GAME! Rebuild year one: Build a winning culture...check. Give Daniel Jones real NFL coaching to see if he develops...check. Improve the offensive line...check. Make the PLAYOFFS? That wasn't on the list,but...check!
Everyone n the NFL thought that the Eagles Tanking vs WAS was a disgrace and now we are going to do the same????

How could we complain about the Eagles tanking to screw us over and then turn around and tank a game to screw over San Fran ... that's playing scared and will bite us in the ***.

Also Eagles destroyed us in the first game, Will detroy us if we tank tomorrow ... What do expect the result to be if we meet them again in the playoffs.

Send a message to the Eagles tomorrow ... This is for ****ing us over in 2020-21 and we can beat your *** if w meet again !!!!
If I recall properly the circumstances were a little different. That game helped determine who made the playoffs. The game this week has no bearing on who makes the playoffs, just the playoff seeding.
The Giants are locked into the #6 seed. My guess is that they are going to rest everyone who is even just a little banged up and give limited snaps to all of their top guys that they can.
Expect a lot of Tyrod Taylor and Gary Brightwell on offense. Golladay might even show up tomorrow.

Pat Leonard
@PLeonardNYDN

Leonard Williams (neck) and Azeez Ojulari (ankle) are definitively ruled out for Sunday at Eagles, per Giants HC Brian Daboll.

Awwww man
This is expected ... They have injuries so let them heal up. I like the idea of playing Gates at Center and Bradeson at LG. I definitely dont think Evan Neal should rest ...he needs all of the reps he can get. Maybe get Peart at least 3Qs at LT

Golladay should play every snap, and return punts and Kicks

I respectfully disagree. First,I don't care what everyone in The NFL thinks of us. I think sitting starters is the smart move in this instance. It's not tanking, the players on the field will give their best effort, even Golladay. The Eagles did whip us the first game, and if we don't play starters may very well whip us in this game. So? You'd risk an injury to a key player to "make a statement?"
Haha we showed we can beat you pretenders. Oh by the way Barkley,Jones,Williams and a few others are questionable for The Minnesota playoff game. Who we WILL beat if our starters are healthy! I don't care how many 60 friggin yard field goals they kick. No message needed Sunday. If we meet them in the playoffs,WITH A HEALTHY TEAM,then the message will be sent. My 2 cents

All I know is if the Giants rest all of their starters this week ... they sure as hell better come out and win Next week against the Vikings. Everyone thinks the Giants should win this game to begin with so they sure as ehll better win with a rest week ... Or does it kill their momentum ???

You play to win !

QB Davis Webb is expected to start for #Giants vs. #Eagles, multiple sources tell me. Furthering @MikeGarafolo
report of Webb being active, spurning Dolphins interest & playing Sunday. Great (overdue) opportunity for the 2017 3rd round pick who has never thrown a pass.
LOL! Someone should notify the Chiefs!
They are playing all of their starters into the 4th Quarter with a 25 pt lead in a game that is essentially meaningless with Davis Webb starting

I'm confused. What does Davis Webb starting for The Giants have to do with The Chiefs ensuring they get the #1 seed in the other conference?

Someone should tell him the Chiefs are in the AFC. 🤷🏼‍♂️

So it's settled. We bring back Barkley and Jones next year. Webb is the backup qb and we address more pressing needs in the draft and free agency.
In year TWO of the rebuild we're NFC East Champions.
See ya'll in Minnesota next week!

man... A lot of playoff history with the Vikings and the Giants. I still remember Black Saturday ... the Giants blowing a lead in the final minutes to the Randall Cunningham Vikings in the NFC Wild Card game and the Knicks losing to the Toronto Raptors (first home game playing without Patrick Ewing I think?).

I prefer the 41-0 NFC championship memory
Speaking of negative vibes, I haven't seen Monk post in a while (hope he alright)

This is going to be the downside of the success. I do t wa t to lose any of the staff. Ya, I know it is selfish. I think both coordinators have done outstanding jobs. I’d like to see Jones have some stable coaching.

The guy I figured to be getting offers was Wink. I am not sure what was the more impressive coaching job. What Kafka did to turn Jones around or the job Wink did with the defense? I am leaning defense, but I am willing to listen to counter arguments. I appreciate that these guys have career aspirations. I am all for it. I was hoping it would take another season or two before the sirens starting singing to them.

I hope Wink stays here. best DC we've had in some time.

Sources: #AZCardinals plan to try and trade All-Pro WR DeAndre Hopkins this offseason. DHop has 2 yrs and $34.36M left on his contract and is likely to seek a new deal. Owner Michael Bidwill plans to express this to GM candidates. My story, via @theScore:
Count me as one of what seems to be few Giants fan who isn’t crazy about going after DeAndre Hopkins.

  • Guy is football old, he is 30.
  • Hasn’t played a full season in either of his last two
  • Not know for his separation but is great jump balls – DJ doesn’t seem to like throwing those

Offensive coordinators are all the rage in the NFL right now

I think the one thing you can definitely say about DaBoll is he has a very specific type of player he looks for to fill a specific roll. Guys like James and Hodgins made the team because 1) they were cheap, 2) they understood the system and 3) they played the position in a way that fit what the offense wants to do. My guess is Golladay not playing has as much to do with his skill set not meshing with the offense as it does with any attitude problem or case of the dropseys. As you point out, DHop is a pretty similiar player as Kenny at this point....limited seperation/more of a 50/50 ball player. I'd be surprised if they went down that path again, especially if Hopkins is looking for an extension.

All that said, in Schoen/DaBoll I trust. Whatever moves they make I'm not going to play internet GM and second guess them.

Ed: What are the key injuries on the Vikings’ side that could impact the game on Sunday?

Christopher: The two big ones are on the offensive line. Right tackle Brian O’Neill suffered a partially torn Achilles in the loss to Green Bay, and he’s done for the rest of the year. He had a big part in slowing down the Giants’ pass rush the first time these two teams played, and his absence is going to be quite significant, I think. We also don’t know yet if center Garrett Bradbury will be back for this one. Bradbury, who, like Daniel Jones, is in the final season of his rookie deal after the Vikings didn’t pick up his fifth-year option, has improved a lot this season but missed the final five games of the regular season with a back injury. His backup, Austin Schlottmann, was also injured in the Green Bay game, so the Vikings are now down to their No. 3 center in Chris Reed. Against a team that’s as strong up front as the Giants are, you don’t want to be struggling on the offensive line, but that’s the position the Vikings unfortunately find themselves in heading into this one.
The Vikings could be down to their 3rd string center?
Dex and Leo about to go off!!!

A good pass rush is essential to disrupting what the Vikings want to do, but I think it's important to not overlook K.J Osborne and T.J. Hockenson, or a dynamic weapon like Dalvin Cook in space. Kirk Cousins is also one of the more fraudulent QBs in football, so if the Giants can ramp up pressure on him and he narrows his cone of vision to just Justin Jefferson, Giants could have a chance.

Vikings D is shockingly poor for their record, so mucking up the game with ball control runs/screens will be key. Saquon/Brieda gonna need to bring their lunch pails for this one.

Dan Duggan
@DDuggan21

Evan Neal and Marcus Johnson added to the injury report. Neal has been battling through injury much of the season. Definitely something to keep an eye on heading into Sunday's matchup with Minnesota's talented edge rushers.

Williams has been trying to find a neck collar to wear in Sunday's game, but it's been tough to find the right fit that allows him to have good vision while in his stance.

Williams doesn't think he'll need surgery after the season, but knows it won't go away until he gets rest.

Jefferson & Hockenson killed the Giants in week 16.
JJ 12-133-1
TJH 13-109-2
Giants have to figure out how to take one of those guys away if they want to win this game.

Good sign is that the Giants outgained the Vikings in that game.
Bad sign the Vikings were more efficient on 3rd downs.

IMO the Vikings are the most overrated team in the league. I think the Giants win.
I hope you're right but ... The Vikings are going to be playing with a chip on their shoulders which is dangerous. And their fans are going to feel the same and be loud as hell at home.

I hope you are right. The Vikings have the better offense while the Giants have the better defense
Should be a good game, I'm excited to see what Wink does with his full complement of players on defense.
I don't think we will see Adoree try to shadow Jefferson, since it's his 1st game back. I think they let him go 1 on 1 with Thielen and try to bracket Jefferson
Anyway should be a good one on Sunday

To anyone who wanted the Giants to play starters in the last game of the season, just consider the chargers and Mike Williams getting hurt in a meaningless game. If Chargers lose to the Jags, this could definitely impact if Staley gets fired as Chargers coach
