2022 Philadelphia Eagles - Leave Gannon in Arizona and let’s run through the NFC again in 2023. (5 Viewers)

Dallas is the only NFC team I fear right now....explosive offense and they generate more sacks/turnovers then most. Eagles are the better team but Dallas would be a high variance game... they'd win 30-35% of the time.

Don't overlook the Giants. Eagles SHOULD boatrace them, but it's a divisional foe with a decent record on the road. The kind of matchup most teams drop one of every year. (Of course you could say Philly already had theirs)

A.J. Brown was fined $13,261 for unsportsmanlike conduct for spanking the goal post with his towel after a TD catch in last week’s rout of the Titans (catch was reversed after review.)

NFL needs to treat abuse against women as serious as it does against goal posts.

It's really crazy what some people spend their time doing

Zeke and Dak both got the same fine for the Salvation Army bucket jackin the box.
Goodell needs to get a life

Need a nice, stress-free win today with no injuries. Doesn’t have to be a dominant blow out, just a comfortable, never-really-in-doubt, 60 minutes.

Man a Cowboys loss woulda almost guaranteed the #1 seed. As it still a great week, dominating win, Vikings loss, Cowboys won but struggled.
(I guess Vikings havent officially lost yet)

What’s amazing is that we won in a blowout last week with no turnovers, and we won in a blowout this week with only one turnover that came long after the game ceased being competitive.

Man, 49ers only managed one TD in the second half today, and that was pretty early. That 2nd half offense for them is clearly an issue. Got completely shut out the last 28 minutes of the game.

Hypothetical question for us to have fun with, and you HAVE TO answer with a straight YES or NO before any attempts at expanding on your reasons (looking at you Djax!).

The devil comes to you today and says he can guarantee the Eagles win the Super Bowl this season.

If you say YES, he tells you that it will also mean everything will play out in 2023-2025 similarly to how it did in 2018-2020 after winning SB52:
  • Hurts will sign a mega extension (@$47MM/year)
  • Something will go wrong in both his level of play and relationship with the team and fans over the next few seasons
  • A huge cap hit will come as a result of his release or being traded
  • No return to the Super Bowl, or even getting past the divisional round in 2023 or 2024, followed by a 4-12-1 season in 2025 that leaves us bringing in a new coach and trying to find our next franchise QB in 2026
If you say NO, the season may end any number of ways after today (from blowing the #1 seed and losing as the #5 seed in the wildcard round, up to an exciting and competitive SB loss), but winning the SB is the only thing that will NOT be on the table. For 2023 and beyond, the devil has no influence on what happens.
NO! You never make any deal with the devil- it always costs you more than you expect. Unless you play a pretty mean fidlle.

I honestly would rather roll the dice. I think Hurts has it in him to be comsistently good- sure the team is due to lose some key pieces to FA this year, but they also have a stockpile of draft picks and Howie has been doing well at managing the cap.

I’d rather not go through the Wentz saga again, with Hurts, or anyone. I like Siri, too. I wouldn’t mortgage legit shots thru 2025 for a guranteed Lombardi this year thru a devil’s pact.

We already got the monkey offn ur backs in 2017. And I like our chances this year. No deal

You're right on never agreeing with the devil. theres more more you agree to you never know about doing that. I had a former co worker do a deal he was promised the stars. He basically got screwed over and hates it. He took the job as it was full time and more of a management role. Had he held out another 3 months he could've been in a better spot for similar money still working with us and not traveling almost 2 hrs total back and fourth from work to home.

Saquan possibly out Sunday according to Daboll

Giants are a classic not as good as their record team this year. Their offense relied on a lot of Jones/Barkley and for the last few weeks Barkley has looked very human, doesn't seem to be as good as he was earlier in the season. Giants I know are dealing with a lot of Injuries but have been lucky in a few games. Gano has had a very good pro bowl type season for them too. They are getting better though and could be a threat next year.

Injuries are getting up there now liking that. Should've been a late hit flag when Siposs ran out of bounds. The Smith TD never should've been thrown it was a poor decision the safety should've played the ball and had a pick. Worked out for us. There were times in this game we seemed to get bottled up. Not sure what that play where Hurts was sacked on was. Busted QB Draw or did he just get happy feet and take off? Just a weird play before Half time. I was at work and didn't get to see much of this game outside of a few plays listened more then watch so hard to tell on a lot of things.

Blakenship hurt doesn't help. Lane went out I hope he's ok.

If Pascal is a FA and DeAndre Carter is we should go resign Carter as our Return specialist Slot WR. One of the bad moves we made over the years.

The Smith TD never should've been thrown it was a poor decision
Counterpoint: It went for a TD, so it actually WAS a good decision.
Smith had his guy beat, the single safety just made a great opening move and burst to even get close there. A pick there would have been very unlikely. If he times it better he could probably have jarred the ball loose, but he needed to make a perfect angle at full speed to make a play.

It was also on 4th down and Smith caught it at the 15. So not a huge risk. And Hurts has been giving his WRs the chance to come down with those 50/50 throws. Since he's only thrown 3 INTs I'd say he's doing a pretty good job. It was a perfectly thrown ball to boot.

So what's the earliest Philly could start resting starters? Hurts getting sat down for fantasy playoffs is sure going to suck.

Almost zero chance of him sitting for fantasy playoffs unless your league somehow uses W18. A team hasn't rested their starters with TWO full weeks left in the regular season since Manning did it in 2009. That would mean they are giving Hurts no game action from Week 16 to Week 20.... 4 full weeks off before their playoff game. Won't happen, you're good.

Seeing how good we look week after week just makes me more upset we lost to Washington. We really beat ourselves that game.

But anywho, I am so proud of this team. Hurts has exceeded my expectations. I admit I was one one of the people who felt we should have kept Wentz and I did not like the drafting of Hurts at all. But the correct decision was made. Wentz is a dumpster fire. I will always appreciate him for the 2017 season, however.

Hurts in the real deal, I think he will serve us better than Wentz ever could. If he crashes and burns after this season, I am prepared to eat my words. But I think he is special.

The offseason will be interesting. Deep playoff run or not, we gotta build up our defense. Specifically LBs and D-Line.

Lastly, I love how Hurts doesn't turn the ball over. I used to think Josh Allen was the most exciting QB but he turns the ball over too much.

Wasn't that when they were 14-0? And everybody hated Caldwell for that?

Yep! Not to mention we need to beat the Saints W17 for a higher pick. But that's not even the main issue, 4 weeks off would not be a good thing.

It's premature imo to even talk about until after the Dallas game. If we lose that game we will need to win all the others, so we very well could be playing full speed till the end.

With as much improvement as we've seen from Hurts, the great improvement we got from Sanders doesn't get talked about enough.
TBH, not sure Sanders has really improved ....he's been healthy.
No way. He is a completely different player now. The YPC is still there, but he lives inside way more these days than outside, taking the yards that are there. We gotta re-sign him (along with the other 33 key free agents).

I was SO READY to be extra this week if Houston was able to pull out that win.

We are the best team in the league. Its not close.

Super Bowl Team.

Even if we have the 1 seed wrapped up, Eagles will play everyone (who's healthy) through week 17 guaranteed. Probably will even start the first half of week 18 and then shut it down for the 2nd half.
I don't think so. If we win the next 2, NO and NYG games will be like pre-season games. Rosters are much smaller than during the preseason so you can't logistically sit every single starter, but Hurts isn't seeing the field for sure, and probably a few studs or recently injured guys like AJ, Slay, Goedert, and CJGJ won't either.

You think Hurts should go a month straight without any game time? That seems like a bad idea.

Jalen will win MVP hands down. You boys got a good one.👍🏼
We'll see. There's already a swell of "he's a game-manager" starting to circulate. He's now at the exact point in the season as when Wentz played his last game in 2017 and is putting up better overall stats and even just as a passer ranks higher in the NFL than Wentz did in most, and also has one more win.

Yet Wentz was pretty much the consensus MVP front-runner, but Jalen isn't :ponder:

 at "game manager". He's among the best passers in the league and can kill you with his legs. 108.4 QB rating. Keep hating people!

The hate and inability to accept reality and what their eyes see morphs each week. Gotta love it!

Even if he was in for a series or two, they aren't going to have him in there doing anything remotely close to what he would be doing in a meaningful game. He can get those kinds of reps in practice where he's wearing a red jersey. No way this team, with their focus on minimizing player wear and tear, will want to risk a fluke injury.

I still think they would do it if they were 15-0 going into those last 2 games.

In 2004 we kept McNabb and other starters out for over 3 weeks before the playoffs and beat MIN (and ATL) with no "rust" issues. Resting for a few weeks after 4 months of the NFL grind is not the same as starting a new preseason/season after 5 months of not playing. They'll be fine.

But...let's just hope this actually turns into a real discussion. Gotta win these next two, baby!

Highest passer rating in the league currently, with excellent yds/att & yds/comp.

They won't sit him for that long, but we could see early hooks for sure.

I saw a post where Reagor guaranteed a Vikings victory. :/

I'm not beating a dead horse here but seriously how much of the absence of Reagor and JJaw vs the acquisition of Brown has contributed to this year's success? Hurts and Wentz both those kids opportunities to succeed and they literally dropped the ball. Brown makes many plays look effortless. Ball placement could be a factor but Hurts is still Hurts. I believe there is much more trust factor in the passing game this year. We are winning many 50/50 throws.
