2022 Philadelphia Eagles - Leave Gannon in Arizona and let’s run through the NFC again in 2023. (3 Viewers)

I’m unloading on Philly this week. I don’t see a way they don’t blow out the Bears
I don't think it'll be a blowout.
Bears coming off a bye, well rested, at home with an extra week to prepare.
Eagles 2nd game on the road, in a game sandwiched between two very important divisional games.
No clue how the Eagles will do against a running QB like Fields.

Not saying I think the Bears will win, but it'll be close.
had a feeling this would be closer then the records would make you think it should be.

Great win. It was ugly, but still got it. Defense, esp the pass rush looked great today. Pretty glad we got Sweat locked up already the way he is playing. Dallas defense is going to be their achilles heel the rest of the way. Just don't have a good CB2 and its showing. Week will be fun, but way less interesting for sure.
love Sweat too, but have to really give credit for the 3-year contract for Reddick. that guy looked like a monster today
Sweat is still just 25 and getting better each season.
Jordan Davis is a lucky guy being able to play with both of those guys and Mikey Hargrave playing there for a few more years

Image what the D line could be with either Anderson or Carter? Shame NO won today.

Good call

Don't even fly to Dallas next week. Make the Cowboys show up for the game and look around confused as our team enjoys Xmas with their family and rests up.

Next week be rested and go beat up on the Saints. Drop them to a top 5 pick. Clinch the 1 seed.
.
Rest starters vs NYG

That would be hilarious. "Micah who? Yeah, we won't see him again until next year."

Gotta be some kind of NFL Rules infraction, though. Goodell and all the TV executives would lose their minds.

But for real... vanilla gameplan. You're probably going to see them in the playoffs, so just run the basics.

i'm pretty sure the fandom in Siriani will want to give Eagles' fans a good holiday and will look to beat Cowboys on Christmas eve

haha I know, I was being facetious. But I do think they don't design as many runs for Jalen.

That was the type of game that teams can lose in the playoffs. We played down to our opponent today. Noway we should've allowed Field to run like that. If I was Gannon I'd spy him and any Read option I'm telling them to target Fields either way have CHI have second thoughts of running him. Hurts played poorly despite the 3OO yards and 3 rush scores. Bad decision making and the 2 INTS were just terrible. Also took 2 unnecessary sacks and got happy feet again at times. They won but which was the important thing but this is the type again you lose in the playoffs. Just narrowly escaped today against a team we should've blown out similar to the Giants.

Piss poor tackling on the Fields run that almost scored we should've had the fumble recovery prior play. Miles Sanders almost gave CHI an early XMass gift too. Hurts took a few hits I didn't like one which I thought the ball came out but didn't. Can't keep running him like this because eventually he's getting hurt. You got running backs for a reason. Use em.

After seeing how much Hurts has been put in harms way today, I take it back. If we clinch next week this coaching staff will for sure run Hurts out there for meaningless snaps.
But I need him if I make the championship in my league. Can't make me use Brady for the title!

Also good ole Prescott choking when the games start to matter more. Pederson looked super excited after the walk off INT TD. Doug has DAL hatred built in. Playing in GB and then PHI and then coaching in Philly as well knows what it means to beat "America's Team."

Brady looks awful in TB and Bill and NE just embarrassingly lost and tredding water. Couldn't have happened to better people IMHO

Some ******* just tried to throw a snowball at Colleen Wolfe on the post game show. Lucky their accuracy is just as good as Lamar Jackson or Justin Fields and missed by a country mile hitting the edge of the make shift production desk. Wonder if Bills fans throwing snowballs will be talked about for the next 55 yrs? Colleen was a Fox 29 sports anchor here in Philly and Married CSN Phillys at the time John Gonzalez who also did Crossing Broad before moving with Wolfe for her NFL Network job based on California.

Also to add to this after this they wrapped up Josh Allen's post game interview with the crew right after he was finished speaking. Wolfe looked up and must've seen a producer give her the wrap it up signal in fear of more snowballs coming in. Post game ended just a few mins after this after a final break and then they wrapped everything up.

Every team has them though. KC needed OT to beat Houston. Buffalo lost to the Jets. Dallas lost to Jax. San Fran lost to these same Bears. You even said how hard it would be to throw in the cold and win, against a team rested and with an extra week to prep.
Stuff to clean up for sure, but at least they ended up winning and fighting through it.

The niners are our true foe. After them it's all flawed wannabes
No one else matters
Honestly? I don’t think anyone can give these Eagles a game …
Disagree. Niners have the defense to keep it close and let one or two plays decide it. Cowboys have the offensive firepower to force Eagles to play a clean game. If Dak avoids the big mistake and Eagles turned it over once or twice Cowboys could absolutely pull the upset.
Eagles clearly the better team right now, but the better team doesn't beat every quality opponent every week...and Niners/Cowboys are both quality opponents.

BUt I think you know this....reverse jinx?
i disagree a bit:

Cowboys: only real chance is if they heal up fast and have a healthy OL and Gallup keeps going. if not, their depth won't hold up

Niners: i used to think so too, but I am sure enough tape will be available by the time Purdy has to play in Philly. kid has done well and has an NFL career, but with the beefed up DTs weighing well over a ton with their rotation, and our LBs now looking dependable, my money will comfortably be on Eagles

not saying either will be 2 TD blowouts, but if Eagles don't make SB i think it will have to be viewed as a letdown. shouldn't diminish the season they have had, but realistic expectation should be SB
It will be viewed as a letdown but I think a few of you may be underestimating the Niners a tad. Their defense is stellar across the board. The Eagles (and Hurts) have not faced a defense like that. You’re focusing on what the Eagles D will do to Purdy but you should also consider what the Niners D could do to Hurts (and the Eagles O). And when fully healthy, the Niners have plenty of weapons on offense to succeed with a game manager QB

They got to a SB with Jimmy GQ at QB and their offense and Defense might be better now then it was then overall skill position wise and what they got on D now.

Prescott made a nice throw in OT. The receiver cost them the game. Did you see the play?

Today was not perfect by any stretch but great to see them pull out the W. I am concerned though about how pass happy we were today. Sanders didn’t get his first carry until 6 minutes left in the second quarter. Yeah maybe the way to attack CHI was through the air but after getting dominated early in time of possession I still feel we didn’t adjust our offensive philosophy early enough. Just concerned that could bite us in the playoffs. We will need to stay more balanced.

TLDR yeah we won but get off my lawn

Thought the second interception looked more like a case of WR/QB on different pages then a bad throw. Hurts also had a couple of jaw dropping throws. Eagles definitely had their B game out there today....but still won on the road with that B game. Gotta take it and be happy....gave them stuff to look at and move on

Still don't understand the game plan coming in. Road vs a bad def. Esp bad at run defense. Let's give our 1k yard rb 3 touches in the first half. Just odd. And even when jalen struggled early throwing they kept on calling pass plays. It worked out but man sometimes the plan needs to change. If the bears were half decent we would have lost doing that crap yesterday.

Especially given the weather conditions, bitter cold and high wind. Was an odd decision to say the least.

Saw on ESPN this morning, in the last two games against HOU and JAX in 72 drop backs, the Dallas D has gotten 1 sack. When you score 34 points, you should win the game. I put that loss squarely on the Dallas D. Gave up 503 yards on defense. JAX had 7.1 yd/att on the ground and Lawrence had a 109 QBR. You're up 27-10 with 5:21 to go in the 3rd. You can't give up a 59 yard TD and let JAX back in the game.

I will say Prescott is turning the ball over way too much. But yesterday was about the Dallas D, maybe they were looking ahead.

they have multiple issues. we will show them what a complete team looks like soon

Gameplan this, gameplan that, if Jalen isn't here for the playoffs, its all over. I hope the team and Jalen especially understands this. The Cowboys are hurt and they may get emotional in this game and the hits will be hard for sure. We don't have to be vanilla with hopefully Goedert coming back. They won't know what to expect since our playbook has expanded even more since his absence. Keeping Jalen healthy is the #1 priority at this point.

The point in vanilla is that we will very likely see them in the playoffs. If we have new wrinkles or plans to use against them, there is literally no reason to show it here.

Galaxy brain strategy: Rest everyone against DAL to play the Saints, win, then take the NYG game off, too :P
Um, I was being sarcastic but ESP is really out here advocating for this as a legit strategy.
That could backfire. They haven’t even clinched the bye yet. Take care of that first and then start thinking about resting guys.
Vikes are 2.5 back. Cowboys are 3 back and would need to win out and Eagles lose out. It's a lock

Does anyone know if Quez is the targeted receiver in the INTs Hurts has thrown? Quez seems to have some brain farts running routes.

I have a feeling we are going to be run-heavy vs Dallas. Maybe we were saving our legs against Chicago though it did seem like an odd gameplan given the conditions.

I think so, but man they see a weakness and like to hammer it. They obviously liked passing against this secondary, despite the conditions. Dallas CB2 is pretty burnt toast right now. I hope we run a lot but I can see us mixing in a ton of passes to the guy not covered by Diggs and to Goedert (with news that LVE is set to miss time). Just protect #1 at all costs - player and seed.

it's a fun debate when you have a 13-1 team. there isn't much to discuss for a few weeks, so it makes a story.

my thoughts are to way the good and bad. do they really get a big advantage resting any guys this week, and the bad being the improbable, but possible idea that they sit out Dallas game, an end up losing the Saints for some odd reason and the Giants. that scenario would be horrific to simply give away the 1 seed

Nah...start your starters every game....but yank the key ones early. Only need to win one of them (at most)

If Hurts is down (collar bone rumors), Eagles title hopes are toast.

Leaning on Hurts in two cash league semis so really hoping he's okay and plays 👀

The bad thing about the TB loss is NO is in play for the division again. Which means our pick can fall to 22.

Raiders winning kind of helps

Minshew mania to return?

Yep imagine if 17 happens all over again. QB hurt, back up takes them to the SB and wins. Hurts is a good guy and all but pretty boring personality wise to the fans. Minshew has that personality and charisma if he's succeeding and the team is people will eat up. Then we'll have Wentz/Hurts all over again. Honestly I was coming on here after work to joke what would happen but depending on how long or severe Hurts is out for could happen now.

a) It won't, that was a once in a million years
b) I don't Hurts is near as mentally weak/selfish as Wentz was

Fantasy nightmare. Not sure how I can start him even if he starts. They will pull him quick and honestly I bet he doesn't even play

Nightmare for fantasy. Needed him in my big money league semi finals. Ugh.
But from an Eagles standpoint, it makes zero sense to play him this week.
