2023-2024 NBA Salary Cap Draft - SECOND Annual Battle for the Wikkid Cup - Preseason Rankings are In! (7 Viewers)

I think I may have been overly ambitious in terms of how much free time in the near future, and I'll have to withdraw. I will observe with interest though.
Too late. You’re in my spreadsheet already.

No worries - you have the day to rethink your incredibly troubling decision.

As far as time is concerned, we’ll have all the players salaries on our tracker and keep track of how much each team has left to spend. We don’t use a clock on the draft (unless things get really slowed down but we didn’t need a clock last year), so it’s a fairly leisurely pace. Since it’s not a fantasy league, we’re not under a time crunch to finish by a certain date. I think the draft took us a little more than a week last year.

Cool - if we’re proceeding at a leisurely pace then I’ll stay in. Just didn’t want to risk being a hold up.

So easily swayed

I would prefer to have more people and go slower than the opposite. The discussion is the most fun part. Mostly because all of these guys are dumb.

Agree. Well except the dumb part thats really just the TWolves fan who always thinks they'll somehow be good. I forget the poster's name...

Last chance for any new entrants! I’ll be setting up the draft file today/tomorrow, and hopefully I won’t mess it up like I did for the in season tournament file.

My college freshman son is not on here (yet) but he would play. He follows the NBA more than I do. I can post his picks and keep him moving. Let me know if you want him. Thx

Not on here yet?! Man from like Jr/Sr year of HS on I don't think I'd have made it through any stats, accounting, or gen ed course without a laptop and good old FBGs.

Sure, why not. The more the merrier.

This may be explained somewhere. Is the $175 a hard cap? I looked at some teams on the spreadsheet from last year and it looked like some blew past the cap.

OK, with inspiration from Son of @PIK95, we’re filling out our 20th spot with another whippersnapper - Son of Yo Mama. My son is also in college and an NBA junkie. I’ll make his picks for him in the thread, but this gives us another reason to text about stuff with him off at school.

Working on the spreadsheet now.

Draft order is set!!!

I think I’ll be mean and do a slow roll bottom to top.

Jayrod sent me the 20 team names in random order. Scoobus gave me the draft slots in random order. I combined the lists and Wala! I’ll release the randomized info from my helpers afterward for audit purposes.

Man. I was #15 last time I think.

At least I learned some lessons last time.

ETA - forgot we only had 15... I was #14. Knew it was 2nd to last pick.
Thank goodness for the 3RR

Is there a link that shows last year's draft? I'm trying to wrap my head arounf how this actually works.

I’ll have last years rosters with draft order as a tab in the file I set up tomorrow. Last years file got messed up (someone probably sorted the draft sheet).

Draft slots can be traded up until you make your first pick. Once you make your first pick you’re locked into your draft slot.

No trading of individual draft picks.
