I'm real curious to know what happened to his leg.Hope Zion is OK to play Friday. He was awesome tonight and I’m not sure Lakers win if he stayed on the court through the end.
He worked on his physical fitness but still has a lot of work mentally. Part of me thinks he'll already be checked out. Strikes me as a spoiled child sometimes who thinks because he's finally giving it 100% that he's owed a W.
The A block on First Take the rest of the week.Does this taint Steph's legacy?
Does this taint Steph's legacy?
Best guesses: Klay signs with Orlando. Draymond traded. Steph and the kids restart. It was a run. He is going to be a terrible contract for somebody next year if he doesn't retire.Klay going out with a whimper.

Dude walked off with 3 minutes left in a tied game with a playoff spot on the line and had 40 pts.
Partially right. They’ve had a top 3 defensive rating since Keon Ellis has been starting, which predated Monk going out by about a month. When your two worst perimeter defenders get hurt and they are replaced with your two best perimeter players, it helps the defense. Also, best defense by the Kings that I can recall...there defense was atrocious for the most part in the regular season
I may have heard this once or twice but I don't think this is as common as you are making it out to be. Also, I thought Sabonis had a nice gameI don't think anybody says he's better but they are often compared. Are there actually people out there doing that? This is a prime example of why people that compare Jokic and Sabonis are idiots. Sabonis is an all-star level regular season player that is trash when a team can scheme him.
Seems like a Perkins kind of idiocy to me, but idk.
C'mon. His supporting cast is keeping the cane industry in business.Does this taint Steph's legacy?
Recognizing that was probably Ellis's best game of his career to date, he looks like a huge upgrade on Huerter for this team. He looked to be one of those rare defenders that is as effective on ball as he is off ball plus he actually brings the 3 to 3 and D.Partially right. They are in kind of a tough place this offseason. The team as constructed is obviously nothing more than a bottom tier playoff team in the west - behind them in the standing this year, Memphis will certainly be better next year, the Rockets are on the rise, Wemby could lead to a quick rebuild in San Antonio. They won't have the ability to easily reload either, because even without Thompson and Paul's salaries, they don't have real cap space. And next offseason, Kuminga and possibly Moody are going to get paid.Best guesses: Klay signs with Orlando. Draymond traded. Steph and the kids restart. It was a run. Hell of a run for the Warriors.
The Lakers will get more coverage as they always do.The A block on First Take the rest of the week.Does this taint Steph's legacy?
Which one of those things does Dennis Smith Jr. ostensibly provide?Grab a couple other dudes on the cheap that either provide shooting or defense (Dennis Smith Jr, Haywood Highsmith, Josh Okogie, Gary Harris, Bol Bol, KJ Martin).Best guesses: Klay signs with Orlando. After pretty much losing his career after Dallas and NY, he came back as a very high end defensive PG. He's definitely not in the league for his offense.I was thinking neither hahaDefense? The Athletic's Warriors insider thinks they'll offer him 2/40 or 3/60. He ended up with much better numbers on the season than I thought he had before I looked them up, but that contract would still be pretty crazy and I can't imagine anyone else being willing to offer him more than the midlevel exemption. So I think there's a pretty good chance he's back. It’s wild that Klay’s last game in Golden State resulted in 0 points.
In today's NBA, aren't teams a lot more willing to hand out crazy contracts, as teams will need high dollar contracts for salary matching in trades? Didn't they eliminate the ability to trade multiple player contracts for one player? Meaning, you can't trade three $15M contracts for a $45M contract anymore? The Athletic's Warriors insider thinks they'll offer him 2/40 or 3/60. Idk most people seem to think he’s gone. GS is way over the tax for an extremely mediocre team but maybe they do it for sweet sentiments. I’m afraid the Magic offer him an idiot contract to solve the shooting issues. The Athletic's Warriors insider thinks they'll offer him 2/40 or 3/60. People are assuming that someone will throw a bag at him because he's Klay Thompson, but no one seems to have stopped and thought about who that might be. Are the Magic really going to offer him 3/75 or something? I think that's his only real hope. The Sixers and Thunder are good teams with cap space but I think those GMs are way too savvy to overpay Thompson.Idk most people seem to think he’s gone. That's a restriction for teams over a certain luxury tax threshold, but the Warriors are going to cut enough salary this offseason that they won't be in that range any longer. And they'll still have Wiggins, maybe Payton and Looney too if they need bad salary to send out in a trade. In today's NBA, aren't teams a lot more willing to hand out crazy contracts, as teams will need high dollar contracts for salary matching in trades? What a ****ing idiot. Multiple bets this year on NBA games (no Raptors games) but they were also able to directly link him to those big bets that were being made when he left games early.Jontay Porter, wait?
Averaging winning percentage against both conferences . . . not that there is much to gain from compiling such a list. The West has 8 of the Top 10.Now add those up and you're on to something.
If he was still a passable defender at the 2/3, I think he would be worth it to somebody because he is still a great shooter, last night notwithstanding. But he's probably a slight negative on that end against primary ball handler types and he has never been an especially positive defender off-ball. He's still a better off-ball offensive player than most of the other shooting specialists because of his ability to hit shots off the move, but he's worse off the dribble than many of them. I think he's on the same tier as guys like Buddy Hield, Duncan Robinson, Grayson Allen, or Malik Beasley, but on a steeper decline going forward.People are assuming that someone will throw a bag at him because he's Klay Thompson, but no one seems to have stopped and thought about who that might be. Looks like Nurkic enjoyed the demise of the Warriors as much as I did.

looks like it. they also have 2nds from Charlotte and Atlanta, which is like picks 33 and 40.So is that the 14th pick the Blazers get from GS?

I don't know about this specific draft, but generally, when the draft prognosticators talk about a draft being terrible, it's the top end talent.looks like it. they also have 2nds from Charlotte and Atlanta, which is like picks 33 and 40.So is that the 14th pick the Blazers get from GS?
SWEET! Draft capital for one of the worst drafts in the history of the NBA. Terrific.

Take the 2013 Draft, which I remember being called one of the worst drafts of all time. 11 years later, we still have KCP starting for an NBA champion (pick 8), McCollum has had a very good career (10), Giannis (15) is an all-timer, Gobert (27) is the defensive player of his generation, a handful of other guys are still hanging on to rotation spots - Len, Adams, Schroeder, Plumlee, and Hardaway Jr, plus there were some good undrafted dudes that are still around like Covington, Seth Curry, and Theis.

Good stuff. Thanks for the perspective.
The big push here is to "Capture the Flagg" next season. I'm sure that's the tune a few teams are singing.
Most Win Shares: H. Türkoğlu (63.3), M. Miller (60.7) and J. I went as far back as the 1980 draft, and the 2000 draft class was the most barren of deserts. The only player to eclipse a career VORP score of 20 was Michael Redd at 21.4. The 1980 draft class wasn't much better, as the only player with a career VORP score over 20 was Kevin McHale at 34.3. For those that were wondering, the draft with the most players with scores of 20+ in that span was the 1999 class with 10 players. To give a little perspective, there's been 239 players with scores of 20+ since they started tracking it in the 73-74 season. Since 1980, there was a tie for second with 7 players in a class of 20+ . . . 2001 and 1987. It's harder to gage the recent drafts, as it takes a while to accrue VORP points. But we can also look at the 2000 draft which is probably the worst in recent'ish times
That draft still did a decent job of making rotation players beyond the lottery - Hedo Turkoglu, Michael Redd, Mo Peterson, Quintin Richardson, Jamaal Magloire (he made an All-Star game! maybe the worst AS this century though), Eduardo Najera (best Mexican NBAer of all time), Desmond Mason... If you were drafting past 15 or whatever, those all would have been decent lands, with Turkoglu and Redd being legitimate high end starters. But we can also look at the 2000 draft which is probably the worst in recent'ish timesI don't know about this specific draft, but generally, when the draft prognosticators talk about a draft being terrible, it's the top end talent.looks like it. they also have 2nds from Charlotte and Atlanta, which is like picks 33 and 40.So is that the 14th pick the Blazers get from GS?
