3 starting NFL QBs are younger than Nix and Penix. And Sam Howell is only 4 months older than Penix. Bennet last year also. Could this be a college trend? Take an older QB and surround them with speed and skill. Weinke was like 62 years old when he won Natty at FSU tossing it to Peter Warrick.
This will 100% be the trend because dudes will make more from NIL than being 4th round picks. The problem for the NFL is evaluating these guys though because a guy like Nix is playing in his 60th game and is almost 24. And he throws off his back foot still.
Pinix doesnt have much better foot work.
Nope. Don’t think I’d want either in round 1.

When Penix throws it reminds of a video game QB the way the ball comes out. Maybe it is just because i don`t see many left handed QBs.

Washington is the last PAC-12 champion.

Cappy is right - it's criminal they are doing this to the conference. What a great season for the PAC-12 and now they've blown it up.
I'm in the minority: the faster they divorce the sport programs from the schools, the better.

D1 College football as we have known it is done and gone forever.

Stop the "Student athlete charade."

Give players a choice. "Free education, room and board, or no tuition and Pay the players a salary and don`t make them go to school."

I mean did nix make more playing for Oregon than be will as like a 6th rounder? What did he make this year?

Daniels locked up the Heisman last night…now -1200.

Yeah, seemed like Penix and Nix both played really well but not well enough to overcome Daniel’s numbers. I think the problem for Nix is he may have gotten it with an unreal game and a W but now it’s hard to take him over Penix having lost to him twice.

I thought Penix looked more the pro. He throws a nice downfield ball. Maybe it was their scheme and their superior OL fooling me into that. Nix seemed to mostly dump it off and looked flustered at times.

Why? It is pretty much like that now for the top players.

Heck, you can transfer mid-season now. The "Old-Time" college football-basketball as we grew up on is gone. The days of bringing a freshman in and getting them trained in the program is gone. Or any player really.

Colleges are going to pay a cap needs to be put in place per school year. Let the schools manage the cap.

Otherwise the mid level D1s and smaller schools are doomed. I mean they pretty much are already but it will be worse. Also if a player takes money make it a contract and they should be obligated to stay at said school.

Downfield throws, back shoulder throws, anticipation. Throwing motion and footwork need work. Injury history could be a concern.

Supposedly got $1.7m thru UO….not sure if there were more NIL deals on top of that.

Watching Nix a few times this year felt the same way. Lot of YAC for Duck receivers. Penix just looks like a more polished passer.

Well since he won't be a 6th rounder... He likely would have been a later pick and possibly made more this year by staying in school and as a possible 1st round pick next year.

Nah. Theyll be giving them both.

Yep. No reason not to really.

I’d be shocked if Nix wasn’t taken in the first. Most likely he doesn’t get past Atlanta or Seattle.

Some are saying there could be 6 QBs taken in the 1st. Seems high but what do I know? (answer: not much :D )

I would rather they just allow those who don't want to go to school to go right to the pros. If you're in school you go to school.

I don't really follow draft stuff at all. Sort of shocked to think he is 1st round. Seemed pretty meh every game I saw all the way back to Auburn. Can't imagine him as starter in the NFL even with the bar of elite to get over being Dak ****ing Prescotr

Don't get the Cowboys fans started.

I believe it’s possible. Caleb, Maye, penix, nix, Daniels, McCarthy are all worth a first.
I think they’re all better prospects than Pickett was.

I think Nix has a maturity/leadership question. Especially considering his age. Last night didn’t help.

This would require the NFL to change its 3 year rule for draft eligibility which of course it will never do as its the heart of the symbiotic cartel it shares with the NCAA. At the same time, we have people like Tom Brady claiming the quality in the NFL is "mediocre" compared to the past - at least in part according to Tom due to poor player development. I'm a broken record on this, but the one fair "solution" I see is for the NFL to openly fund college programs as a development league. This would require divorcing the teams from the schools (other than licensing the names and logos and venues) and completely removing the NCAA from big time college football - let them focus on real college sports and maybe do something to actually protect those athletes' interests while completely privatizing the football.

That was a fantastic game last night. As I was watching I could only think about the best possible outcome that could lead to Michigan being curb-stomped in its first bowl game. I'm not sure either of those teams has what it takes but for now I'm all-in on team Huskies.

Regarding the WWE title belt on the 25 yard lines:
The Big 12 has also announced a partnership with WWE, who will present a custom-made Championship Title Belt for this year’s Most Outstanding Player.

It’s incredible that Gundy got this team to the Big 12 title game, talent-wise it’s the weakest team they’ve had in awhile. I can’t believe OU lost Bedlam

Yeah, Nix may go rd 1, but he's not a rd 1 talent. One of those types that if he's special neck-up (I have doubts) then he can be league average, but if he's anything I think he's a backup. Can't win only going horizontal in the pros.

I thought I read the consensus on Nix after yesterday was late Day 2 at best.
