2023 Las Vegas Raiders - RIP Jack - one of the greatest Super Bowl moments ever (1 Viewer)

How ****ty would it be if Jones is cut by the Raiders tomorrow and then goes out and signs a better-money deal somewhere new? He would essentially be rewarded by double dipping 2023 contracts after all this BS.

And by better money, it's basically anything >$2 MM for 2023 by another team on a free-release signing. ****ty to think, but he is sort-of incentivized (at least financially for 2023) to force the Raiders to cut him if he believes he can sign for more than that open market, and knows he won't see any of the 2024 monies in his current deal. Zero chance of the latter the way his deal was structured, even before the fallout boy nonsense, and Chan and his family are plenty smart enough to know that.

aside from the jones crap......glorious to see the chiefs lose
Yes, they didn't look anything special at all without Kelce

Mahomes looked plenty special. Their non-Kelce skill players looked like utter trash though.
The Chiefs don’t need much at the skill position. Mahomes is still the best QB in the league and there is certainly solid competitive from guys like Hurts, Burrow and Allen.

Hurts, Burrow and Allen

These three appear to have MUCH better supporting casts this year. Last night may have been an aberration, but it looked like they had Mahomes out there with scout team receivers and backs.
I think we ate saying the same thing. Mahomes is the best QB in the NFL but doesn’t have much talent around him. When Kelce returns, I expect Mahomes to return to putting up gaudy numbers and stacking up victories.

More good news, from Chandler Jones on X: "Woke up feeling amazing this morning! Thank you God!"

I get the sense there won't be anymore red flags, oh oh moments, or controversy today...

Raiders were looking to trade Chan and locked him out until they figured **** out - or at least that's how this appears. He was understandably pissed, but the meltdown was a bit much. Ah well, this is how it goes when you fall out of favor with McZiegler. Definitely don't agree with letting these situations unravel like this when they look to move on from players. Sets a bad tone with those who remain, IMO. Or maybe Chan (and Carr before him) are just diva idiots. That could be true too.
Jones hasn't practiced for a couple weeks now. Makes me wonder if he was having mental issues going back that far and the Raiders have been trying to keep it under wraps. I personally think the organization has handled this flawlessly, it's Jones going public with everyting not the organization.

Agreed. For somewhat good reason a lot of us jump immediately into "I BLAME MCGRUZIGOK BOWL CUT!!!" mode whenever anything goes the least bit sideways.

We all need to R-E-L-A-X

Drunk and stupid is no way to go through life son…

First "WE'RE GOOD WE'RE GOOD" call from Carr at the line of scrimmage resulted in a false start by the entire Saints offensive line. He needs to stay away from saying that. Nothing good ever comes of it.

That play, where the WR is along the sideline, and Carr puts it juuust a bit too far outside for the receiver to make a play on it? No chance for a turnover, and NO CHANCE for a TD or a 1st down?

Yeah, he still a Hall of Famer at that throw
