Total shot in the dark. I decide to double down and predict some ludicrous trades. If i am going to fail, I might as well fail spectacularly.

1) Houston Texans: Bryce Young Alabama QB (from Carolina /from Chicago) - swiped the idea for this trade from here > https://www.espn.com/nfl/draft2023/...icks-aaron-rodgers-lamar-jackson-aaron-donald
Panthers get: 1-2, 2-33, 3-65, 3-73
Texans get: 1-1, 2-39, 4-132

2) Carolina Panthers (from Houston) : CJ Stroud Ohio State QB

Eagles get: 1-8, 2-44,
Colts get: 1-10, 2-31, 3-94

9) Chicago Bears (from Carolina): Jaxon Smith-Njoba WR

10) Tampa Bay (from Indy): Hendon Hooker Tennessee QB -
Colts get: 1-19, 2024 first-round pick
Buccaneers get: 1-10, 2024 third-round pick

11) Tennessee Titans: Devon Witherspoon Illinois CB

12) Houston Texans (from Philly): Broderick Jones, Georgia, OT

One of the Bill Parcells rules for drafting a QB is to pass on a college QB that had 2:1 TD to INT rate. Both Levis and Richardson fall into that category. Maybe Parcells rules are not relevant anymore when it comes to prospects that shone in the SEC and have amazingly strong arms. Anyway this mock is old school and thus Levis and Richardson fall out of the top 12.

Did I really know what I was doing going QB-QB-QB-QB? Not really but the thing is when you look at the starting QB situation in the AFC I can see where teams 2, 3, and 4 here have to take their swing at the position to have any prospect of getting anywhere in the conference. Houston is the wildcard a bit because maybe they finally found a coach that will fully commit to the tank in order to land Caleb Williams in 2024 who knows lol.

me and some mates did a mock between 5 of us and he ended up Chargers. When you're on the clock weighing up team need, it's hard to justify him before them.
That’s a dream landing spot, IMO. Year 1 he might be more of a FF RB2, but after Eke is gone he’s going to be a contender for redraft pick 1.01 for a long time, much like LT2 before him.

That’s just a perfect offense for RB statistical achievement - QB isn’t a threat to vulture TDs, they throw to the RB a ton, they don’t get cute at the stripe & are content to pound it in.

They’re the only team that makes the Bengals a coin flip for my draft preference for Bijan.

Bijan and Jalen Carter fall out of the top 12)
I’m skeptical Bijan was in the top 12 to begin with.
Agree. The only exception is Philly, IMO. They are obviously VERY close, and could think he is the extra piece they need on offense to be the best offense in the league.
I think Philly is trying to move up for Carter or Johnson. If they get stuck at 10 and those two are gone I'd view Bijan as a maybe but don't think it's what they are hoping to pull off.

Modified my post for my final guess, but I will share this as a Texans fan with all of of the reading I've been doing and talking to fellow fans about my best guess at what I expect them to do at 2 in particular.

I think their first desire is Bryce Young. If Carolina surprises and doesn't go with him, I suspect Houston surprisingly finds themselves re-pivoting here and going with him. In the unlikely scenario this happens as we've heard reported in recent weeks, I think the indecision you're seeing is a few things....

They clearly see the next group of QBs all in similar favor despite how the rest of the media views them and/or doesn't feel any is franchise or worth the risk at 2 (you have to be certain). That means they have moved to the defense side of the ball. Everything in Houston feels like it's been Wilson vs. Anderson for the past few weeks. If I had to guess Caserio favored one of them while DeMeco favored the other, and that started the debate on trading down to see if one of those guys might slide to them if Houston went down a bit.

I think if they were to slide down, they prefer Wilson if I had to guess. His recent lisfranc questions feels eerily familiar to last year's debate of Sauce vs. Stingley. I think if Houston moves down, it's quite likely Wilson is or was their target. Suspecting they are stuck at two and teams won't trade with them, I have a strong suspicion they keep safe and pick Will Anderson.

The deadline to enter this context was midnight PT last night.

This contest is therefore closed for new entries or edits to existing entries.

New entries for entertainment purposes only are fine, but they’re not qualified to win.

Just too much new info comes out on Draft day, so I made that rule pretty clear in the OP.

Thanks to everyone for your enthusiasm!
