He's a heck of an athlete, though. Anybody watching that Rams preseason game will have seen the receiving potential of Albert Ogweukbunam. Not a bad guy to take a flyer on. If your core (I don't mean corps) is as good as the Eagles have, you can take those chances, and when they hit, they can hit big.

Surprised by the K'von Wallace cut. Not so much because he is such a great player, but I thought he was doing well in camp. Disappointed he didn't stick. I thought he had a lot of talent coming out of college.

He ran a 4.39 40 at the combine. He’s super athletic. He had about a month of good football for Den during the Covid season or 21 season. I picked him up as I needed a back up at the time. So there’s talent there. Watched a few of his games at Mizzou

Officially a 5th rounder in 2024 now (in addition to the 2023 7th), since he now won't hit any of the qualifiers that would have moved it up to a 4th.
Still, a 7th and a 5th for him (after the sunk cost of a 1st) is way more than he wound up being worth.

No idea. I would say it'll be mostly Gainwell and Swift mixing in Scott with Penny doing the grind it out work if theyre up big in 2nd halves. Just my guess though.

Gainwell was the "primary" RB all through camp, according to the beat reporters. He had almost double the carries with the 1st team than any other back. Catches for RBs with the first team were almost even between him and Swift. No idea what it means for the regular season, though.

A day after the Eagles’ initial 53-man roster was released, the team has announced more roster moves as they have added 13 players to the practice squad.
The following players have been signed:
WR Devon Allen
The two-time U.S. Olympian track star showed his speed as a kick returner and special teams gunner in the 2023 preseason. Allen spent last season on the team's practice squad after playing well in his first preseason. He returned a kick for 73-yards in this year's preseason finale against the Colts.
WR Britain Covey
Covey joined the Eagles last season as an undrafted free agent. He played in every regular season and playoff game as the team's punt returner and returned kickoffs. Covey returned 33 punts for 308 yards (9.3 avg) and 10 kickoffs for 206 yards (20.6 avg). He ranked second amongst rookies in punt return yards, good enough for eighth in the NFL.
CB Mekhi Garner
The undrafted free agent was signed by the Eagles in 2023 after his only season at LSU. Garner had 105 tackles and three interceptions in a four-year college career. He finished with three tackles in preseason.
G Julian Good-Jones
The versatile offensive lineman spent two seasons with the Calgary Stampeders of the Canadian Football League. Good-Jones signed a reserve/futures contract with the Eagles in January. The Iowa State alumnus saw many snaps in the preseason.
DE Tarron Jackson
Jackson was selected by the Eagles in the sixth round of the 2021 NFL Draft. He has played 21 games with the team, registering 17 tackles, nine quarterback pressures, and a sack. Jackson had two quarterback hits and a tackle for loss in the preseason.
LB Kyron Johnson
Johnson was a sixth-round pick in 2022 by the Eagles. He played in 16 regular-season games, spending most of his time on special teams. Johnson recorded two tackles on special teams in the first preseason game against the Ravens. He missed the final two games after undergoing an appendectomy.
S Tristin McCollum
McCollum spent his rookie season on the Texans' practice squad. He signed a reserve/futures contract with the Eagles in January. McCollum had six tackles and a pass deflection in the preseason.
WR Joseph Ngata
The rookie receiver signed as an undrafted free agent after four strong seasons with Clemson. In 45 college games, Ngata caught 88 passes for 1,287 yards and six touchdowns.
TE Brady Russell
The undrafted rookie was a strong run and pass blocker in five college seasons at Colorado. In 2021, he became the first tight end in Colorado history to lead the team in both catches (25) and yards (307) in 15 years. He had a 22-yard touchdown in the preseason game versus the Browns.
P Arryn Siposs
Siposs had been the team's punter for the last two seasons. He continued to improve last year, averaging 45.6 yards per punt and amassed 2,005 punting yards. Siposs missed a portion of last season with an injury and returned for Super Bowl LVII.
T Brett Toth
Toth is in his second stint with the Eagles, having spent time with the Cardinals in between. The West Point graduate made his NFL debut in 2020 with the Eagles. He made his one career start at right tackle with the Eagles and has experience up and down the offensive line.
LB Ben VanSumeren
VanSumeren was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Eagles in 2023. He spent time at Michigan and finished his collegiate career with Michigan State. VanSumeren stood out in the final preseason game, registering 17 tackles, 11 of them solo.
WR Greg Ward
Ward has been in Philadelphia since 2017, spending time on the active roster and practice squad. In 40 career NFL games, he has 768 yards and 10 touchdowns. Probably won't be a clear one to own. Gainwell and Swift will probably get around the same receptions, Gainwell will probably gain more rushing yards, and Swift will probably get more TDs. So overall fantasy points might be in the same ballpark.

I’d bet Swift/Gainwell with dairy catches and Gainwell running. I think Penny gets a Jordan Howard type role like Pederson had and then they throw in Boston Scott just to screw with us all fantasy players

Maybe I'm wrong, but I just can't see Gainwell getting more touches then Swift. I think as the season rolls on it will be clear Swift is simply a better NFL RB ..

Was talking with some other Birds fans and saying I can't remember being this optimistic going into a season in a loooong time. Even during the early 2000's run there was still lingering doubt about being able to "get over the hump."
I think 1991 is the last time I was this excited and confident that we should be an elite team. Randall was coming off an historic QB season as the "ultimate weapon" and we were going into the season with what everyone agreed was the best defense in the NFL (which they would prove by having one of the best defensive season performances in NFL history.)
Of course, Randall then promptly had his season ended 20 minutes into the first game (Bryce Paup
) and we slowly began to realize Rich Kotite was a fraud, which all probably affected my inability to be optimistic when things were going well in the 2000's. But I'm somehow not worried about how things might (or will) go wrong this year, for whatever reason.

Any of you have an idea of whether Mariota has the #2 QB job locked down? I have Hurts as my dynasty QB, and currently have Mariota as well, but really don’t want to carry McKee if I don’t have to. I know McKee is more of a long term answer, but if Hurts goes down early this year, I’d want to have to QB that will back him up. Wish McKee was #2 now, so I could dump Mariota. Thanks in advance, and good luck this season. You’ve got a great team!

After watching CU win vs TCU with Irvin on the sidelines I'm starting to think that Coach Prime might be the Cowboys next coach.
