2024-2025 NCAA College Basketball Thread - Huskers take the Crown! Also Florida did something. (2 Viewers)

Side tracking the men’s conversation for one women’s tourney blip. On the heels of Caitlyn Clark bringing the sort of popularity she did to women’s college basketball last year, everyone on the selection committee should be immediately relieved of duties for putting Juju Watkins and Paige Bueckers in the same region this year. How GD short-sighted and oblivious do you have to be to put the two biggest female stars against each other in the Elite Eight? Hilariously bad business for a sport that needs to consider these things.
Oh - did someone say "womens bracket"?

WVU was ranked 12 in the NET and earned a 6 seed. UNC women were ranked 20 in the NET and received a 3 seed and will play their games in their home arena.....the corruption has tainted sports for far too long.

PS - half the BIG XII Teams in the tourney are in the same bracket. I know it is all just randomly based on the teams and their resume's but that doesn't help the conference build any momentum either. Everything seems to be stacked against the B12.

I can't argue against any of this.
I love my Lady Heels, but they are pretty flawed. I only watched a few WVU games, but the minute I saw them I knew JJ Quinnerly could knock us out by herself (if we make it past Oregon State, who is a very live 14 seed). JJ is a stud.

Not about to defend either committee. On the women's side, the quality of the 3-8 seeds are all incredibly similar. Vandy could very well be playing South Carolina in the Elite 8. Maybe even @SFBayDuck 's Ducks at the 10 seed. There's clearly a bias against the B12. B12 and ACC are far more similar than the committee seems to think. Look no further than the TCU and Utah wins over ND who was supposed to run away with the ACC.

Anyway, I get it. Something is messed up.

Hope it'll be a good game if we get there, and hopefully JJ takes it easy on us.

I know ain't nobody want to hear it right now, but damn the Heels looked good last night. RJ Davis is finally healthy and led this team to the title game 4 years ago.

Not much chance of a run because the SEC schools are all now a bunch of 6'10" beefcakes that drain 3's.

Ole Miss probably going to crush us, but we got some dudes.

I almost always fade the SEC but somehow ended up with 7/14 in the Sweet Sixteen. Go big or go home!
8 SEC teams in the Sweet 16 seems like a realistic possibility. You're not crazy for picking 7.

I feel like whenever a conference is seen as dominant they end up underperforming in March Madness. I am fading the SEC pretty hard, with zero in the final 4.

Plus their whole stigma about being so dominant is based on their out of conference play. That that was back in December which may as well have been last season. These teams change so much throughout the year, they're often nothing like they were in December.

ETA: Plus a lot of their great OOC wins that made them look so good ended up not being that good (Kansas, UNC, Gonzaga, etc). Not that those are bad teams but at the time people thought the SEC was running through a bunch of top 5 teams which wasn't really the case.

From your mouth to God's ears, brotha. I hope you're right.

Hey, Duke. You better scout this game. It won't matter, though, because the DMV is coming for you. All of Gary Williams' hate and vitriol (and there's a lot of it) is gonna thunder down on you. The Mount has a guy named Xavier Lipscomb; all of Duke's players are named after middle-school soccer players (even the black dudes). American is coached by Duke-killer Duane Simpkins.

(Narrator: Duke will beat either of them by 50.

Me: I know)

This poor Rogers kid has a torn ACL. They need to keep him out of the game.

This same thing happened when I tore mine, Running front and back was fine. As soon as I would cut it would give out like that.

Poor kid. That just sucks. Warrior to try to fight back and play but probably not the smartest decision.

I heard collectively they were only .500 in conference play…

Is anyone having trouble getting into the FBG contest? I scan the QR code and all it does is take me to Sleeper and when I tell it to go I end up in the general game unable to locate the FBG group.

While I have Florida and Tenn in my Final Four, I believe the SEC is overrated as a whole.
