2024-25 NBA Thread: Thunder starting to question having 140 pound guy playing in post in Finals (44 Viewers)

I predict Houston wins game 1. I don't know who wins this series, but I think Udoka has this team ready tonight.

I really hope Udoka rips his shirt off at some point in the playoffs and challenges an opponent to a steel cage death match

I love Udoka. Normally grimacing on the sidelines and yelling at someone. Pretty much the opposite of Houston's NFL coach who tries be everyone's friend and always smiling.

Houston’s offense is gross

Yep. Easily their worst game of the season. The only thing that gives me hope is that it can't get much worse (outside of Sengun and Adams). I think Udoka makes the necessary adjustments and they turn it around in G2. If not, the series is over.

I thought they should have kept S Adam’s in the game. Maybe the dude was tired, but they were killing GS with him in the game.

🐐Amen's one of my favorites to watch in the league but hoping the Rockets really stumble this playoff and move for Durant/Booker in the off-season. Let the Rockets rule the league next season and beyond.

Move one of them to Rockets for a player/pick haul is about the only thing that can save the Suns' franchise from being a complete abomination for the next 5+ years. Every recent move they've made (dealing unprotected 2031 1st for 3 late 1sts) / not made (not already moving Durant) has been the wrong move. Everyone knows Beal is unmovable. He'll be waived this off-season if the Suns don't find a desperate sucker. Suns seem set to try to make "another run" with Booker for whatever reason

BTW, certainly not knocking Jokic for the flops. I have mad respect for it.

Come on dude, seriously?

When soccer players take a dive and writhe around on the ground, do you have mad respect for that? You'll probably lean on his size making it different but I don't see NFL linemen in peril from hitting the ground a hell of a lot more, with bodies galore.

I'm honestly curious. Would/do you teach kids to fake and/or flop in sports?
if you're not you are probably doing it wrong.....some of the best players in the world have been flopping for years and it has worked to their advantage and their teams advantage...high school has implemented rules to try and prevent it from trickling down.....but kids still do it...just don't think it works as well as it does in the NBA...

At the same time, I can't stand flopping, but I have respect for a 7" 350 lb man that should have about 6 MVPs by now taking a dive on a hardwood floor to gain an edge in a close game.

A 20 year old 5'6 130lb soccer player taking a roll in the grass? Fine with anybody trying to gain an advantage, but a different sort of sacrifice.

Mostly I hate flopping, but in that moment, I had respect for a massive SOB like Jokic taking a dive on the hardwood. Makes every bone in my old body hurt just thinking about it.

Also, I'd think a man's man like Jokic also finds it incredibly distasteful. Which makes me respect it even more.

yeah....I personally can't stand flopping either in any sport....and it's not just plays like Joker one....it's more Hardin back in the day driving and flailing his arms in the air and throwing his head back like a sniper just shot him....or players shooting a three and coming down falling before there is even any contact....and I still for the life of me don't understand how on virtually every layup some of the most athletic people on the planet end up on the ground on the baseline...like EVERY layup...

I think some guys would rather tumble than try and stick the landing and risk a bad sprain. I had a dozen sprains, including a compete rupture and I was always buckling if anyone was near my landing area at the end of my playing days.

Thanks for Toumani Camara too!!!!

The newest entry to this list seems to be Brunson. Dude flops around like a rag doll if anyone even breathes on him.

What in hell do the Nuggets post game meals look like!?!

Let's go Pistons. BTW people actually apologize when they get the info wrong! Who knew.
It wasn't really all that bad, the original mentioning of Billy Ray Bates that happened last night...

Now they're defending Westbrook in spite of his boneheaded mistakes

I've just always assumed a Ron Swanson situation.

Nuggets offering up a fantastic vegan option.

And then Jokic either hitting up a great steakhouse, or more likely, chowing down on some elk or moose that he harvested himself.

Remind me, what did Nico Harrison get in return for Jalen Brunson?

That wasn't Nico's fault. Dallas could only offer four years at like 60 million without making a trade. Cuban was very upset when Brunson's dad got involved.
