2024 College Football Thread: Ohio State advances to play unbeaten hypothetical SEC team (2 Viewers)

No traditional SEC team in the semi finals. See what happens when there is fair competition and SEC teams aren’t just given a championship appearance?

Run’s over SEC fans. Hopefully Texas can carry your water for you.

not since the battle of megiddo which is the site of the final battle between good and evil when god will deliver his people from evil and take them to heaven have the catholics so thoroughly defeated evil and also ensured that the sec would not be a part of the football playoffs any longer after this day his day in his name and his word taketh that to the banketh in the name of lord the big kahuna from down under bromen

I mean, they lost to the same teams they've been dominating in the postseason the last 20 years (Notre Dame and Ohio State).

This was a way down year for the SEC. I told all of you that all of Georgia, Tenn, Bama sucked badly this year. I've been saying it for months and I made a fortune off of it this week.

This was the midwest's year. Just dominant and so easy to see. I've made more money sports betting this week than the entire rest of my life combined. And I'm thinking of going double or nothing on. Ohio state -6.

Good game Georgia. Pretty sure I scared my dog a few times there.

Worried about how many injuries we keep stacking up, but super happy to just continue to have a shot.

Marcus, I was wrong about you after NIU. Heck of a job since.

Good to see them put some of those historical playoff criticisms to rest here. Very solid win overall. Offense still needs to do more, but defense and special teams are difference makers.

Looks like the BIG is going to have 2 Nattys in a row,

Michigan last season and OSU looks like they will finish the job too.
Oh the B1G will have a champion this year. We are... 😏
Pump the brakes chief. PSU would be ecstatic if they somehow made the final.
Just poking the ... Ummm... What is a buckeye exactly?
A poisonous nut.

Loving the Bible schtick tonight, brochacho.

If you've got FOMO about missing the easiest sports betting week in world history and think you might have missed the boat, consider that this Georgia team that should have had 6 losses this year beat Texas twice, including by multiple scores on the road, and that Ohio State is only laying 6 against that very same Texas team.

Also while the SEC is getting rightly dunked on for being bad this year, can we take a moment to figure out what the heck happened with the ACC? The ACC Champion was 0-3 against that same poor SEC this year. 0-3.

ND vs PSU ....root ND but PSU is my #2 so that's sort of nice
That’s unpossible
Grew up ND.. ... PSU is my localish school growing up. Was accepted but did not attend either 😂
Same-ish. Grew up ND, great uncle taught at PSU and I was going to PSU until the 11th hour when my dad convinced me to stay local.

And…I married a Longhorn. Next week could get very interesting in my house if things shake out a certain way.

PSU vs Notre Dame in the Philadelphia area will be a holy war. We have so many ND/Cowboy/Yankee/Laker Fans of the late 80's early 90's in this area. Combined with the people who absolutely hate PSU just because vs all the PSU alums who can be very obnoxious.

Let's just say the bars will be packed next Thursday around here and there will be plenty of police on standby.

The ACC 5th place team pretty much beat the SEC champ on the road until some SEC officiating got in the way.

ACC power Notre Dame may just win this thing.

More importantly he needs to get some elite skill position guys here. The whole "unlimited NIL" Uncle Phil narrative is such a tired and lazy take, as the Ducks aren't even in the top 10 in spend this year by most estimates, and tOSU paid at least double for that roster. And it sure showed on the field! It will be interesting to see the roster management over the next few months. They've got a bunch of youngsters waiting in the wings at QB, RB, in the secondary, etc, that on paper are more talented than the transfers he's brought in the past couple of years to man those spots.
I’ve been seeing OU’s NIL budget was $23M this years vs tOSU’s $20M.
No way OU spent $23M. Oregon (UO) may have but OU certainly didn't.

If it goes to 7, hard not taking Texas in basically a home game at Dallas.

Grew up in bike-riding distance from ND's campus. Accepted there but the choice was full ride elsewhere, or financial aid (loan) at ND. So, that choice was easier than I wanted it to be.

I also filled out an application for Michigan. Hand wrote the required four essays. Promptly dropped a piece of pizza on the application. Decided I didn't want to attend U of M that badly to copy them to a new form.
