Biggest problem with this format isn’t three loss teams not getting in ahead of teams that didn’t lose to bad teams. It’s that it’s looking like the two best teams are from the B1G and they’ll play next week.

Agree. Top 4 teams should get the byes. If they want to let conference champions host in this round that aren't in the top 4 so be it.

SD got completely screwed by that td call. Sure it touched his hand in bounds but he had to bring it into his body to control it and was like 3 steps out by then.

The WR on that play was Trey Lance's brother Bryce Lance. I have no idea what they saw to overturn it but still a great catch.

Despite the result of their playoff game, you have to say it was a pretty good year for SMU. Literally bought their way into the ACC and made the playoffs. Not bad.

Another dud. FCS was much better. And the Final will be great, too. Montana State and South Dakota State are a combined 28-2 and play their butts off, it's good stuff.

Despite the result of their playoff game, you have to say it was a pretty good year for SMU. Literally bought their way into the ACC and made the playoffs. Not bad.

Yeah man, I'm proud of the Ponies. Finally gave me something to root for after 30 years of misery in lesser divisions. When I was going there we'd attend games but mainly to drink and socialize. It's kind of cool to finally have the game as the main focus. Completely surpassed my wildest expectations and should really help recruiting going forward.

All four favorites won convincingly this weekend as expected. Sure, Indiana, Clemson, SMU and Tennessee fans didn't get the result they wanted but the favorites rolled.

I think all the teams playing this weekend were good. But clearly, the games were largely not competitive.

Ok dumb question I never have understood...when they show a stat like: 11 Sacks and 19 TFL, are the sacks included in the 19 TFL or is it 19 MORE plus the sacks? I've assumed the former, but maybe I'm wrong?

The QB tackled while attempting to pass is always both a Sack and a TFL. Any tackle behind the LoS is a TFL, though of course not every TFL is a sack.

they really did not think the set up through. The first round teams got more of an advantage than the teams that were given a bye - I’m not sure the rest is even an advantage when compared to the extra “practice” the winners got this weekend.

Not really. At least not from the last few years.

I'd guess they'll wind up about 15 this year in the AP poll.

For the AP Poll final standings in previous years:

2023 finished #17 (9-4)

2022 finished #6 (11-2)

So overall a good year with some nice wins and barely making the playoffs. But about where we've been.
