Who do you have being some of the biggest busts? Of course injuries play into some of these but given their draft slot, I have:
  • Hill
  • LaPorta
  • Mahomes (Prior to this 2 game heater)
  • Etienne
  • Olave
  • Aiyuk
Who else?

Not sure your list is a bust list except for Laporta and maybe ettienne. The rest of them all have had major injuries affect their year. Dissapointments for sure but to me a bust is someone who has had a dissappointing year without a legitimate reason. By your list you have a glaring ommission McCaffrey..

Richardson
( I know he missed a couple games but he has been so bad he has been benched)

Breece Hall
....adp rb2 and rb 14 currently

Calvin Ridley wr 35 I really expected he would be a mid pack wr2 and the best wr on that team and its taken a couple big weeks to even make him a late wr 3.
Davante Adams.. was a bust at LV and not much better at NYbthus far. wr 50 from where he was drafted at is bust city.

Kincaid te 5 adp currently te 12
Dalton Schultz... though not drafted as a te 1 but he was te13adp currently sits at te 30 WITH injuries that should have provided him with more opportunities.

On draft night, I remember wanting McBride and he went the pick before, so I took Kincaid thinking "No problem, they'll be similar and Kincaid might even be better". Nope, not even close. Thankfully some dummy in my league dropped Otton after his 100 yard game and he picked up...Kincaid to replace him after I had cut him weeks earlier. People do some strange things.

Not sure your list is a bust list except for Laporta and maybe ettienne. The rest of them all have had major injuries affect their year. You view busts similar to me. As in injuries don't count.

Also think there is a difference between disappointing and a bust. Was just posting in the Tyreek thread that even with Tua that Tyreek has been disappointing.

That being said I think Olave and Aiyuk should belong on any top bust list. They may have ultimately got hurt, but they were busting before.
 
LaPorta was like the #2 or 3 TE pre-season on all lists I saw. Now he's around 18? Unreal.

Drake London was way overrated relative to where he is now.

Ayuk I give you but Olave....not so much. Olaves adp was 20.... take out his zero when he didnt play and his 2 games where he got concussed early in both games and he comes in at..... wr 21 in my 1/2 point ppr league. Add in his fairly easy last half schedule and I dare say without that 2nd concussion he easily upgrades to wr 15 in games played by the end of the year.
 
I'm not opposed to drafting rising stars, but the risk/reward has to make sense. Richardson and Harrison Jr. were both drafted at their ceiling despite having no history of results. Optimistic at best. Not surprised they have burned people. The hype got out of control with those two.

One that's more surprising to me is Jaylen Waddle. I loved him as a draft prospect and he backed that up with some promising seasons early in his career. All of a sudden he's unplayable. I was running him in some DFS lineups last week and he salvaged a donut with a couple late catches, but he didn't even have a TARGET through 3 quarters.

Some players who have more receiving yards than Waddle this season: Noah Brown, Demarcus Robinson, Jalen Tolbert, Tutu Atwell, Mike Gesicki.
 
Anthony Richardson and I don’t think it’s close. He was touted by more than a few as a top tier fantasy QB and it turns out he’s not even a starting NFL QB at this stage of his career

Etienne was fool’s gold from the beginning. Jags made clear in camp that Bigsby would get as big of a share of touches that he could handle. Etienne has been hurt and the team stinks, but he probably wasn’t going to be a fantasy RB1 anyway, at least from a volume perspective.

I'll meet you halfway and move Olave to extremely disappointing.

Way I got is if you remove the two games he left early he's at 12.48 PPG which in my full PPR leagues would be WR32. In my leagues in month of August, covering over 600 drafts, he was going as WR11.

Hard to call Aiyuk a bust, or anyone else that suffered a long term injury.

Maybe expectations were too high, but I’d say MHJ has been disappointing.

I’d say Richardson though is the patron saint of this thread. Dude doesn’t even have a starting gig now and may never.

It's not when they were awful before they got injured. IMO what you are alluding to only matters if the injury itself was the reason for their lack of production and that was not the case with him. The first 6 weeks of the year when he only make it to double digit PPR points once before exiting week 7 early.

I'm really not sure if remove injuries to players and their supporting cast, like Tyreek/Tua, you could come up with a more lineup crushing player drafted the first few rounds then Aiyuk and again that was before he got hurt. Maybe Laporta in TEP leagues is only guy I think who could give him a run for his money.

interesting,,,the way I got 10.15 in 1/2 ppr by removing the 2 concussion games and the game he missed because of the concussion put him 1 spot bellow Marvin Harrison who was 20. I got his adp at wr 21 via a FBG list which says
"Our Fantasy Football ADP pages blends ADPs from different sources to provide you with an industry-wide consensus. Fantasy Football ADP varies by platforms, but can all be viewed in a single table below."

I did notice Olave had several games with low receptions so it makes sense he would be a bigger disapointment in full ppr. I will say that his low target number in some of his bad games has been quite puzzling. Maybe that is part of what got Allen canned? interesting discussion thanks for your research. It seems to be akin to listening to some of these who do I start questions on videos each week and sometimes they answer: I would start player X in full ppr but player Y in half and non ppr.
 
R White.

Irving is better. Plus you have Tucker that’s involved. A terrible 4th round pick. Wanted Nabers, but waited until 5th and of course he was gone. Take the best player, but I fell for the need a second RB first trap.

Yeah, Waddle has to be pretty high up the non-injury bust list.

Although some of us are backed into playing him tomorrow night, so let's hope he has his one remaining big game then.
 
Trying to avoid guys who have missed a lot of time due to injury.

QB - Richardson. Mahomes is a close second, but the fact that Richardson's play was poor enough to get himself benched in year 2 pushes it to him.

RB - B.Hall. Expectations were so high, and he's just been okay. R.White would be second for me, we knew he was risky, but he was still going to top 15. He's lost a lot of work and it looks like it's staying that way.

WR - T.Hill. Not sure there is anyone close.

TE - Laporta. Kincaid also a consideration, but Kincaid was all projection. Laporta was coming off an incredible year and the volume is waaaaaay down.

guys i was wrong on (overperforming) - J. Allen, Kyren Williams, Nabers, Bowers, Mixon

I have no idea how Olave and Aiyuk were going early second much of the year. I don’t know what people were expecting.

Waddle in the second was dumb but I fell for that one.

How I ever chose Pitts ahead of Kittle in best ball is beyond me.

I don’t know if this fits into the bust conversation but Nacua going in the first and Kupp going in the third was nonsense.

I drafted a ton of the bust Xavier Worthy.

christian Kirk was a very predictable bust.

My biggest busts (across two leagues):
  • Pitts over Bowers (LOL)
  • Adams in the 2nd
  • Aiyuk in the 3rd
  • Breece over Bijan
  • Trading for Jayden Reed
  • Trading for CMC (Damn well knowing he was a ticking timebomb)
  • Drafting Love over Daniels
 
McCaffrey - One of the most disappointing 1st overall picks in many years.
Etienne - For a RB typically drafted in the top 2-3 rounds, he has been brutally bad.
Z White - Not drafted as high, but considering it was assumed he would be the LVR RB1, he's done basically nothing.

Olave - Yeah, he's been hurt. But, even when he's played, he's been borderline unstartable.
Harrison - Still have high expectations for him long-term, but he hasn't been a low-end WR1 in redraft leagues like expected.

Kincaid - Target hog, yeah right.
Pitts - Food me once, shame on you. Twice, shame on me.

Then there is a disturbingly long list of guys who might not have been busts, but they sure were disappointing. Mostly WR's. Hill/Waddle, Wilson/Adams, Diggs/Dell, D Smith, Pittman, Deebo, Cooper, Kirk, Ridley, D Johnson, Reed, etc.
 
These players were all on my team yet somehow I'm in 3rd place in my 12 team league and will make the playoffs: Breece Hall, Brandon Ayiuk, Travis Etienne, JK Dobbins, Jaylen Waddle, Kyle Pitts, Javonte Williams, Chris Godwin

Pittman is WR #48 and hasn't even had his bye yet. I think i had him ranked #18 to start the season. Total BUST.

He is the result of Richardson's bust... not the cause.

This was one of my redraft teams this year. The whole team was a BUST, but mostly from injuries, except the last player drafted. I still somehow finished 7-7 and in fifth place out of 12 teams.
Lamb - bad shoulder half the year now on IR
Etienne - missed 2 games but basically a bust
Aiyuk - IR week 8
Diggs - IR week 9
Pickens - missed 3 games
Kittle - missed 2 games
Swift - Bust
Prescott - IR week 10
Brooks - IR most of year, played 2 games
Ekeler - IR week 13
Schultz - Bust
Charbonnett - got 4 starts and played well
Shaheed - IR week 7
Polk - Bust
K.Herbert - Bust
A. Rodgers - okay year
Mayfield - Stud

if it makes you feel better I traded Bowers in late September / early October for LaPorta

A few weeks later I got Gibbs straight up for Breece

But the misses bug us 10x as much as the hits
