****2024 Kansas City Chiefs Thread - Two Time Defending Super Bowl Champs**** (1 Viewer)

Doubt DJ Humphries solves the issue (not healthy my guess) but that would be great if he is able to lock LT down. Either way they need to spend more energy on double teaming the TJ Watts of the world.

34-7 in their last 41 games is pretty amazing. Guessing that is the best 41 game stretch in team history but don’t know for sure.

The Chiefs have won their last 15 games decided by one score or less. They also are 1 of 4 teams that hasn’t scored 31 or more points in a game this year. The other are NE, LV, and NYG (7 wins combined).

Is this combination sustainable (not scoring a ton but winning every close game)?

I can see them resting Mahomes next week at home against the Texans. They're already up on the Bills by 2 games so even if they lose and the Bills beat the Patriots next week, the Chiefs would still be in the driver's seat for home field in the AFC.

Mahomes might not play but they are not in the drivers seat. Bills are definitely not losing any of their last 3 games. So KC needs to win 2 of Hou at Pit at Den.

I think the Chiefs D can win the Texans game. Stroud has looked bad all year and Carson can manufacture 17-20 points which could be enough to win.

A win on Wednesday in Pittsburgh would give them 24 or 25 days to rest starters and game plan for the divisional round game. Man that would be a real XMas treat.

See you all in 3+ weeks for the postseason
Yeah, what a weird year. Will be interesting to see how this all unfolds the next couple of weeks.
Feeling better about their chances in the postseason? With the addition of Brown they seem to have a better flow in the passing game. With their defense I would think they have as good of a shot as anyone right now.
Yeah he definitely helps.

The more important move though was moving Thuney to left tackle. I hope they keep this line alignment the same all the way through. If they do that they have a real chance.

Before that I would have said there is no way they make it through.

Maybe too much rest? They've looked a little flat all year, and some rust wouldn't bode well for a playoff game. Hard to argue with one loss all year. I've just never seen a team look so vulnerable doing it. The Steelers game is the only blowout all year. It will make their games more interesting to watch, at least.

Just peaking in with a quick ?? for yuse guys- with 24/25 days between meaningful games do you play your starters, including Mahomes, at least some in the last regular season game? I mean that's a Lot of time between live action and as was just mentioned by Neil Beaufort Zod, that could lead to getting out of sync and out of shape a bit.

I'm not sure it matters. I would love to see them rest guys. They have played literally an extra month of football the last 6 years. They need the rest.

Those poor guys, tell 'em to start the offseason now so they can be ready for next season.

Last 14 seasons have been vs NE or vs KC, (they faced once).

There's never been that level of consecutive domination by 2 teams in any conference historically.

7 straight AFCCGs holy cow

Mahomes is 7-0 with a 17/0 td/int ratio in the division round. Just an absolute masterpiece of erasing painful division round losses for KC over the decades.
I'm sure you all are well aware of this, but I was looking up Chiefs seasons yesterday and was blown away by this one. Of the last 12 playoff games before Mahomes showed up, what was their win-loss record? Who knows it?

I don't think it was good. I can remember a Houston win, so maybe 1-11? Maybe 2-10?

I've tried to flush those memories out of my brain.

These Bills games are always hard as f
5th Super Bowl appearance in 6 years
Chance to win 4 of 6
Chance to win the first ever 3-peat
Let’s make some history

Not taking anything for granted. This is an absurd run they are on.
It’s nuts. Told my son I went 45 years without them sniffing a Super Bowl and he gets 5 in 6 years!
It's funny. I saw 1 super bowl appearance in my lifetime as an Eagles fan but since my youngest son was born in 2017, we've been to 3.

First world problem for you guys. I have a son who cries at the end of every season.

Congrats to all the Chiefs fans

17-3 is pretty amazing stuff

I see what you did there, and I don’t like it. I was thinking more like 24-1 with 2 rings or 41-7 with 3 rings.

what is it you think I did?

never occurred to me, genuinely was just commenting on Patrick's insane record in the playoffs lol

Fair enough. Thought you may have been predicting a loss and their record on the season.

I thought the exact same thing.
