*** 2024 NFL Preseason Game Observations Thread *** (1 Viewer)

So far nothing really to write home about RE Pats offense (been half paying attention between work). Brisset started, played one series, and now Maye is in. A lot of hand offs. One dump off to the RB and one pass that the receiver kind of borked. Weather might be playing a factor. Rhamondre had one carry in the first series and looked pretty good.

Pats D looking solid... but it IS the Panthers... in the rain.

I don't think we'll get much intel from this game.

Zappe in for third Pats series. I'm guessing with the weather they're just going to rotate QBs and focus on the ground game.

They just put up a graphic of the Pats defensive tackles, and the only name you ever heard of is out indefinitely.

Sad group

Did anyone wear those silly looking jumbo padded helmets?

I'm all for them, just wondered if anyone would actually be wearing them during games this year.

Barmore has blood clots. Not much more info.

I know they’re pros, but I remember (this is going to sound funny) our TE/DL/long snapper got blood clots three or so games into the year and missed a lot of athletic time with it. He was able to play hockey but missed all of contact football. It’s no joke, huh?

eta* Godchaux makes half a million less than eleven million per year for the next two. Not peanuts, either.

When reading about the announcement, they mentioned someone who missed an entire season. I forget who.

it's not so much the blot clots in themselves. It's that the treatment usually requires blood thinners so playing a collision sport where you are likely to get bruises that now won't clot you run the risk of internal bleeding and other complications that are extremely dangerous.

So as long as the player is on the blood thinner medication they typically don't let them play contact sports.

Rock on. Thanks, Gally. I hope Barmore doesn’t have serious issues.

Falcons @ Miami. The team is promoting the Dolphin Cancer Challenge in Feb 2025, the NFL's number one fund raiser with 6000+ participants raising over $12mil in 2024. @Ministry of Pain and wife did their part bike riding in 2024.

I'm excited to watch the LT of the future, 2nd rounder Patrick Paul, who has looked good in camp. Chop Robinson has been inconsistent, but could have a role using his quickness on passing downs in Weaver's defense. WR Malik Robinson has a chance to solidfy a spot on the team after a slow start, OBJ has been in bubble wrap. Jaylen Wright ... will he have a major role ... TBD. No Tua, Skylar has outplayed Mike White, preseason is his chance to get the #2 job. If the IOL continues to look like crap, expect a trade or pickup of a guard soon.

On the road in NC, gonna get the replay at 1:30 on NFLN
Wanted to see how the OL did tonight
Looks like Wright shined as the RB3, no chance he leap frogs Moestert and Achane but I find him a cheap handcuff for either RB simply because Miami will no overload

If Raheem were to miss a month, Achane 55-60, Wright 40-45 and I feel similar if the shoe wer eon the other foot for Achane
And odds are HIGH that Moestert and Achance each miss a game or two here and there, so Wright is a decent insurance plan

No Roschon Johnson today for Chicago?
Was wondering the same thing. Cut down on Monday for my league and Roschon is on the end of my Keep 13 bench and was hoping to learn something from this first week of preseason. I saw lots of Herbert when I was watching during the first couple of quarters.

And inside info from Bears homers on this situation?

I have a feeling they want to showcase Herbert now as trade bait.

Your Beaker face was perfect for this question. Just utter despair and awfulness is taking place with the mad scientist, and you’re at a loss.
Now you have me visualizing Beaker asking that Roschon question in his squeaky voice.

While the Professor runs up to and saddles him with what is essentially a boiling Molotov cocktail, or as we know it if we drafted him at 2.07, a Roschon Johnson time bomb that’s buckled with steel to the park bench it ain’t moving from.
