You saying it this way 100 times won't make it any more true. There's no NFL policy against getting free tattoos. In fact, I'll bet lots of players are sporting gratis tatts.

The NFL suspended Pryor because its defacto minor league, the NCAA, stood to lose power if the NFL let Pryor skip out of the NCAA's suspension by entering the supplemental draft and they didn't want to facilitate that. Again, I think that's a poor decision but it really doesn't have much to do with the Rice case.

I can understand why you might think that. There is a subtle, but very important distinction between what I said (twice) and what you interpreted. I think it's awful for those who effort to minimize Rice's actions while discussing him as a buy opportunity.

Personally, he is undraftable on my team. If others want him on their team, fine. But, don't try to minimize what he's done to justify it. Call a spade a spade, he's a wife beater, make the selection, and move on.

Per beat writer Mike Preston, Rice had two long runs over the weekend where he "looked like the Rice of old," and "his cuts were excellent." It's hard to get overly bullish about Rice following a miserable 2013 campaign and now entering 2014 on suspension, but he'll be someone to track closely this preseason.

where do people keep getting this? He was arrested and charges were filed. He took a plea deal that put him in a educational program for first time offenders that avoided a trial.

Rice committed a crime. It was the legal system's job to hand down an appropriate punishment. Goodell's job is to protect the shield. I doubt he takes any real heat, so he got it right.

The moral righteousness of our society concerns me more than Ray Rice's transgressions. Americans show a lot more restraint in judging themselves than they do others. Throwing stones from glass houses requires a total lack of shame and humility.

None. Which helps highlight how the CEO question is misplaced as it relates to Rice. I was responding to how I would patronize a business run by a bad guy. Just because I want nothing to do with the bad business owner and I want nothing to do with Rice in fantasy doesn't mean the two scenarios are somehow similar.

I think that is still good value because I would say in the 14 games he does play, he should be in that RB 15-18 range fairly easily.

People are thinking about his dog year last year and MAYBE are overlooking the line issues and the addition of Kubiak. Say what you want, if Rice has anything left, Kubiak is the guy that will get it out of him, in spades.

No one is discussing profit margins. It's more like earning potential. Go ahead and boycott him in fantasy football if that makes you feel good, but don't bash others for talking about him on a fantasy football site. I don't know all the facts or if Goodell handled it well or not. We may never know for sure. The fact of the matter is he will be playing 14 games this year and he will impact fantasy football. No one is coming here condoning domestic violence. Just trying to assess value for fantasy purpose. If you want to avoid it, then stop playing fantasy football. As much as you seem to think you are, you aren't doing anything to help battered women by tanking your fantasy season.

Since I am already paid into my league and I own Rice, I am curious as to what kind of production he might have. It affects how I build my team. I can separate real life from a game, so I will continue to discuss his outlook for the season.

We may not fully appreciate every aspect of the case, but this much is known: Ray Rice knocked his wife out cold. And, as I've said several times, it's fine to consider his fantasy value if that's an angle that's interesting to you, but don't minimize or excuse what he did or go the Stephen A Smith route of blaming women for being domestic violence victims, all to justify targeting him in your fantasy league.

I've been wavering on Rice's 2014 prospects. On the one hand, he could be 1st round value as a mid-round pick, with Gary Kubiak now in the fold. On the other hand, he broke down last year after many, many years of heavy workloads, dating back to his college days. That fact is a huge red flag for me.

I don't know that he so much broke down as much as he had well documented hip problems and a half-injured OL.

What does concern me is that I've read that Bernard Pierce's college system was similar to Kubiak's zone blocking scheme -- does that mean he'll have a good leg up on Rice (even without the suspension) early in the season when the OL is slowly getting accustomed to the scheme?

No one should be surprised. Pierce is just 24 years old, has college experience in the new one-cut scheme Gary Kubiak is installing and put together impressive rookie tape before last year's disaster. He'll be the unquestioned feature back for the first two games, and we wouldn't be shocked if he ran with the lead part of a committee even after Ray Rice comes off suspension. Pierce "has had the best transition to Kubiak's stretch, zone-blocking runs," per Hensley. Rice is more of a stutter-step runner who is losing his jump-cut ability.
